3/17/2005 traveled to myrtle beach, SC mostly on I-95. On the way I experienced periods of rain. The first time I noticed a problem was during rain when another vehicle caused me apply my brakes in an emergency situation. When I applied foot pressure in the normal manner the brakes did not respond properly, instead of slowing down immediately, I discovered I needed to apply at least 2-3 times more pressure (if not more) to get the brakes to slow the vehicle. I encountered this problem for the remainder of the trip whenever I was in wet conditions. I did not experience on dry roads at any speed, and I was driving at speeds of up to 75 mph. 3/23/2005 returned to harrisburg, PA. Experienced rain from the south carolina/north carolina border all the way home (approximately 520 miles). The rain varied in intensity from a light drizzle to a down-pour. The brakes continued to not slow the car in the normal way (my top speeds varied from 55 to 75 mph). I continued to have to apply excessive foot pressure to slow the vehicle or even get it to respond. When I applied the brake the response was very similar to driving a car from the 40's or 50's equipped with brake shoes that has been driven through a large puddle of water and the brake shoes needed to be dried by applying the brake pedal to dry them before they would take hold again. At one point I thought the floor mat might be the culprit and interfering with the operation of the brake pedal, but the mat was nowhere near the brake pedal. I took the car to the dealer, but the day I was able to do this there wasn't any rain and the problem could not be duplicated. When we receive heavy rain again I will be going back to the dealer.

Continued pressing throttle and it finally broke free and started moving normally. The initial stop wasn't a fast stop, just normal speed.

On may 22 police report number20010522072502 wife lost control and reported vehicle would not stop and the brakes needed to be checked. . Repairs were made and today on July 15 vehicle was driven home and engine was racing and would not slow down. Vehicle was turning 4100 rpm and would not idle. The car normally runs at 65 at 2000 rpms so 4100 rpm would be in excess of 100 mph. Cruise was taken off however vehicle continued to speed out of control. All attempts to get vehicle to slow down failed. The vehicle is in driveway I have not reported this to the dealer yet. Dealer unaware of accident. Accident occured on wet roads and the accelator may have stuck then. I know something is wrong. . . Help me it may save a life.

I purchased a warranty that covers bumper to bumper and when I took the car in the first time, at david taylor they did something to the brakes. After several weeks passed, the brake went out again as I was attend a funeral. The car was taken back to david taylor, April 26, 1999. They are refusing to honor the warranty that they sold me at the time of purchase that covers bumper to bumper as I was told. The price that they want to charge me now is $1500 for brake repair that was supposely fixed but wasn't. It is not fair for them to do this and this is the complaint that I have that the problem with the brakes have not been repaired and through there failure to repair it and not honor the warranty is my complaint. They loan us a car, but asked for it back and I don't have any means of getting to work. Will you please call and find out what the defect is and why these faulty brakes were not repaired on the first visit. Why is the warranty not being honored and why are they playing the blame game with me stating to me someone else had been fooling around with the brakes when that someone has only been their service department working on the brakes. It's insluting for someone to even make that kind of a statment when you have a warranty by their service department. It would be ridicilious for someone else to work on it. That's the blame game they are playing and I don't like it at all. I'm truly upset about the brakes being a haradzous to me and my family and to others on the highway where they have gone out a second time. Please, please help me get this resolved by calling david taylor Monday, may 3, 1999. I can't get through to them and it's frustrating being sold something that they do not want to honor now. Help!.
