#3 - High/low Beam Switch problem of the 1999 Buick Regal
The vehicle involved was a 1999 Buick Regal. 1) while driving at night with the brights on my headlights go out (fail) at random. The headlights come back on when the dimmer switch is hit ~or~ by themselves if I wait it out. 2) this headlight failure has caused several near accidents. It's a definite safety issue. 3) I have taken my vehicle in to be looked at twice and no correction has yet to be made to the problem. My mechanic now believes that it's due to a malfunction in the dimmer switch. *** this failure started in mid November '07 and has been ongoing ever since with several random incidents weekly. This problem occurred on 11/16/07.
