This SUV was purchased at the end of August 2016 and once in the car and driving down the road we realized the vehicle power steering was hard to turn and the brakes were going all the way down. We also had a car accident, because it was very hard to turn and once in the parking space the brakes went completely out and when trying to stop the SUV would not stop and we hit a parked car with the lady in the car on 9/11/2016. Went on line and noticed recalls for power steering and cloth seats on some models for air bags. Spoke with GMC and informed power steering recall and would like SUV checked. Called tow truck to take vehicle to GMC. When we got there the service department request we try to purchase a new car instead of getting the vehicle fixed. The next day we were notified the truck was not worth repairing the damages were over 1,000 for power steering and brakes. This car was sold with all these problems and I feel since there was previous defects with this vehicle we should at least be given some type of compensation or a new vehicle.

When driving the Buick Rendezvous 2002 home the brakes began to not respond. After arriving home and driving down our driveway, the SUV had smoke coming out of the engine. The Buick Rendezvous was turned off but continued to expelled large amounts of smoke under the engine area. Within 5 minutes the engine area caught on fire. The bozrah fire department was called and by the time they arrived within 15 minutes or so the entire vehicle was on fire.

My all wheel drive & anti- lock brakes have gone out. This could prove very dangerous because we live in an area of very harsh winters.
I purchased this car on June 23 and the next day it wouldn't start took it back to the dealership and they replaced the battery and the alternator said it was fixed but several hours later the car wouldnt start again took it back the next day and they said it was the air conditioner running while the car was off draining the battery so they took the fuse out and said they would fix it the next day but when I called to take my car to them I got no answer from them. Three days later the car overheated and I got it completely checked by a different mechanic to see why my car is running hot and he gave me a list of problems every head gasket is blown out and the motor is gone. He said that there was a recall a few years back on these types of Buick cars for the coolant and the wrong coolant was placed in the car and it messed up all head gaskets I immediately called the dealership but again no response I called the bank because I still have a 30 day tag and only had the car for two weeks but again no response I called Buick and spoke with someone to ask about the coolant recall and he said he would call me back in a hour and again no response. I asked for a carfax report and the dealership said they didn't have one but gave the couple behind me a carfax for their car the brakes and rotors are completely gone I cannot stop with my brakes I just have to coast so I want hit anyone this car will stall out on me without any warning. There has been no action taken from the bank or the dealership on how we can fix this problem they have all been ignoring and not responding to my calls texts or anything.
On 3/13/2015 my car had gone to a firestone location in indiana due to a check gauges light on. They replaced my alternator and battery. My vehicle was only kicking out 300 cca. I took my car home and parked it. The following day I put approximately 350 miles of interstate driving on my truck. When arriving home, I parked my truck. On 3/15/15 I took a short 2 mile drive and lost my brakes. I have a severe back problem, which makes quick and sudden moves painful. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor. I was on a winding road and it made it difficult to control the truck at 40 mph. There was no warning to my brakes going out. I had to have my car towed in to the shop as I was not going to attempt to drive it any further with no brakes. I have own many different makers of cars and never encountered this type of problem. If there was any kind of hint it was going , you would think they would have caught it 2 days earlier when it was in the shop. I am currently unemployed and expenses like this are very hard to accommodate.

At 65 miles per hour on a highway in rich hour traffic my vehicle stalls out and displays 2 lights 1. "reduced engine power" "service traction control system" or something to that effect. The car will not start for 3-5 minutes. Then restarts and continues to do the same thing another 5-7 times before I was able to get to a safe location. When hooked up to a code reader the code that displayed was co240 abs powertrain control modile. . This is extremely dangerous.

I was coming to a stop to make a turn and my brake pedal fought back at me and I had to put all my strength to get the car to stop. I finally got it to stop but I'm worried one day it will not stop and I'll get into a wreck. I don't know if this has to do with the brake system or something more severe.
This is the third time that this very scary and life threatening event has occurred. The first time this occurred in 2009 in minnesota. I parked in a parking lot. The key was stuck in the ignition. This was replaced at a Buick dealership in rochester, mn viking Buick. The second time, in July 2013 on a major highway in chicago going at approximately 10 mph going in slow moving traffic. The same event occurred for the third time on July 19 ,2014. The car stopped running while driving in 2013 and 2014. The engine turned off. The steering wheel did not move. I attempted to restart the car several times. The key did not move nor could it be retrieved. The battery light then turned on. After several minutes, I was able to restart the car by turning the ignition key. I was not aware that there were recalls on Buick Rendezvous 2004. I learned about these from listening to the news. I have called Buick in June 2014. I was told that based on my VIN, the car does not qualify for a recall and they refused to help me with evaluating the car. I have told them that the ignition system has been replaced in 2009. Buick tells me that they do not see this on their system. I have the receipts, payments and information from the Buick dealership that completed this as well as from the towing company that towed the car there. This event occurred again on July 19, 2014 while I was in a shopping mall parking. An additional event that I noticed this third time was that I could not even get out of the car as it remained unlocked. I have reviewed on your website that there have been several recalls related to these events and others for which I have not been notified by gm or Buick. I have had the car go through diagnostics several times throughout the years, but what has happened is not identified at the check ups.
I was traveling on I - 75 at 65mph and the vehicle engine stopped. N0 power steering no brakes. I coasted to the median turned of the ignition waited aprox. 15 seconds and turned on the ignition and the vehicle started.
Multiple times the vehicle has stalled randomly while being driven. This has happened so many times I've lost count (at least 20). This happens at various speeds (from 0 mph to 70 mph). The entire electrical system shuts down when the vehicle stalls causing the steering and brakes to be less effective. This could easily result in an accident. The vehicle has been taken to 2 different Buick dealers for diagnostic and repair. The dealerships have not been able to fix the problem. The ignition switch and the ignition relay have both been replaced and all the electrical contacts have been cleaned and checked. These repairs have not fixed the vehicle. I've called Buick customer service and they refuse to do anything further without additional charge to the owner. The owner will not be making further repairs.
When driiving 2003 Rendezvous when trying to stop there is a loud crunching sound and thumping pulsating from brake as if it is forcing it back up. I have to stump brakes all the way to floor to stop. Mechanic can not tell whats wrong with it. Almost drove into 4 lanes of cross traffic. Car would not stop. Had brakes changed and it continues to happen. This is very scary and heart pounds. My only source of transportation so I have no choice but to drive. There needs to be a recall. Also when making a turn and using brakes it is worst. Very frightening at any speed.
Had battery replaced during routine maintenance. After two days the car would not start battery was dead. After the 3rd battery we took the cat to the dealer. Thet checked everything said it was the battery again!!! so we had it replaced at that time. We also had them fix the abs for the 3rd time in 5 years. The car was at home two days later would not start! had it checked this time it was a module and then the dash cluster wnet out while they were fixing the car. Still same problems took the car out again this time after gm called us. They kept the car for three weeks, said it was a short in the stereo. Now 1 week later car is dead again!!!!!.
When first accelerating, the car stalled out and the battery died. After braking to shift back into park and restarting, I was able to move again. Besides the acceleration issue, when driving and then braking when coming to a stop, it feels as if something is preventing the car from braking creating a grinding sensation. After the initial "grinding", awd is disabled along with the anti-lock braking system. This happens just about every time the Rendezvous is driven.
I purchased a used car from jim doran auto center3075 n hwy 99w po box 598 mc minngville, or 97128 503-472-3131 this vehicle was advertised as a "cream puff" meaning the vehicle was in excellent condition and after I received it in California it cost me over $3,000 in repairs. Please remember that even know the SUV sold to me by this dealership was sold (as-is) but advertised and a car in excellent condition. I have paid over $3,000 in repairs to this car just to bring it up to pass a dmv vehicle inspection for California. Some kind of resolution to satisfy me monetarily for the repairs for the false advertising that this dealership posted online for the sale of the vehicle. The car sold to 2004 Buick Rendezvous sold (as-is) but the SUV was advertised as a "cream puff" being in excellent condition and it's been anything but! the value of the vehicle is just under $6,000 in excellent condition and this vehicle was not even in fair condition.

As the brake was being depress the vehicle buckled and the brake was locked. The braked locked for about two to three minutes then unlock. The brake locked a second time before the vehicle was driven home. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 140,000. . . . Mw.
Anti lock breaks kicking in for several months for no reason, then anti lock light and awd disabled light came on. It is happening more frequently. After several hours of research and reading hundreds of complaints, hundreds of people are having the same exact problem. Im in fear my breaks will go out like another Rendezvous owner I have read about.

The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the brakes needed to be replaced. The brakes were replaced but the remedy failed to repair the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic who then diagnosed that the rotors and the hubs needed to be replaced. The hubs were replaced but also failed to correct the problem. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not further repaired. The failure mileage was 66,000 and the current mileage was 116,765. Kmj.
About 6 weeks ago the brakes started making a sound and slipping sown to the floor when applied. The service traction system just came on. ,.
The contact owns a 2002 Buick Rendezvous. While driving at 10 mph, the contact stated that he depressed the brake pedal and the anti-lock brakes suddenly engaged on dry pavement. She also stated there was much resistance in the brakes when approaching a stop. The dealer stated the hub bearings were faulty and needed to be replaced. The dealer also stated the brakes and tires could be affected. She was advised that the brakes needed to replaced and all four tires due to the faulty hub bearings at the owner's expense. The current and failure mileage was under 79,500.
2005 Buick Rendezvous anti lock light and all wheel drive light on and cant seem to be fixed. What the hell am I supposed to do spend thousands to get it fixed, buy a new car. This seems to be a common problem from what I search online thousands off people have this problem who is Buick paying off there?.
I bought a Buick Rendezvous in July of this year. The car had 90 k miles on it. Immediately after I bought it,the brakes would push back whenever I tried to stop. I took it back to the dealership I bought it from and they said they couldn't diagnose it since it didn't occur when they had the car. I have been so close to getting in accidents, simply because my car wont stop. I think something really needs to be done about this.
I have been having intermittent problems with the abs brake system whereby when I apply the brakes at a slow speed of about 5-mph the vehicle feels like I am stopping on a gravel road when I am driving on clean dry pavement, also when this happens the vehicle doesn't stop like it should and it slides to a halt. Also sometimes when you apply the brakes while driving under 35 mph and apply the brakes the vehicle shutters and doesn't stop properly. I sometimes get the anti-lock indicator light and sometimes I don't. I also will get a warning light that states; "service traction system". I have taken the vehicle in to have it serviced and I am told that they can not duplicate the problem and that they don't know what could be causing it. They said to continue to drive the vehicle and as far as they can tell it is safe to drive. The mileage on the odometer was approximately 85,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2003 Buick Rendezvous. While driving downhill at 15 mph, the vehicle failed to stop when the brakes were depressed. Once the vehicle began traveling uphill, it slowed down and the contact applied the emergency brake. The road conditions were normal. The dealer stated that the brake power booster box burned up and needed to be replaced. The brakes have been replaced three times and the rotors once within the past year. The engine size was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 42,000.
I've had problems with this car since I purchased it in June 2005. First it was the fuel pump/sender,then came the brakes and traction system failure. I've many close calls, and had taken the car to a certified gm mechanic 5-7 times, to no avail. I'm still dealing with the brakes and traction system failure til this day. I will be getting rid of this as soon as I can get it good enough to sale. . . I will never buy another Buick as long as I live. This was one of the biggest mistakes I've made. I've called the customer service center in the states and this is what they have said to me "since you're overseas, there's nothing we can do about it, sir". I've served my country and sm still doing my part as a civilian. And I can't get any good service. Wow!!.
Lost all braking due to brake fade while descending a 12% grade for 3 miles with no extra load in the car, with ambient air temperature of 50 f. 2004 Buick Rendezvous vin3g5da03e34s536873.
