Automatic Transmission Problems of Cadillac Deville

The contact owns a 2002 Cadillac Deville. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the check engine light illuminated and the gears would not shift into overdrive. 2003 Deville 83k miles taken for emission test will not past untill code po741 is fix. Po741 torgue converter cluth excessive slip transaxle cost $2000 to $4500 to repair but is not an emission part.

The day I bought my car 10 minutes after receiving my car the service engine light came on. After doing a computer diagnostic on it 2 days later come to find out its my transmission code p0741 torch converter stuck off. That car shouldn't of passed inspections with service engine light on or internal transmissions problems. Now im stuck with a crap car and out $4,500. 00 . I have tried to work this out with the dealer for 2 months. Now I wouldn't take make car back to him if u paid me. Hes a crook and doesnt properly repair cars. Over the past 2 months I ve had to replace a exhaust a cv joint stabalizer link turn signal flasher . The main problem the transmission which im gonna have to pay for outta my pocket close to 2000. 00. While the dealer gets away with it.

The "service engine soon" appeared many times on the dash of my 2003 Cadillac Deville. After 4 diagnoses it was decided that the transmission was defective and required a $4200 repair.

2005 Cadillac transmission has a delay when shifting in reverse. ***** the dealer stated that gm specs allowed that delay to be as much as 8 seconds long. The consumer indicated that this situation is exacerbated when he forward stops in a down hill direction and shifts into reverse to back up a hill. The vehicle rolls forward while the engine races. When the time delay ends the transmission engages with a violent jerk. The dealer was notified of the problem.

When the consumer puled into her driveway, she noticed that the disc brake traction stabilizer light illuminated on the dash. She immediately put vehicle into park and exited the vehicle to open her garage door. When she returned to the car it was rolling away. She jumped into it to stop vehicle and she turned the wheel and it seemed to spin out. She threw it into park to get it to stop. Caller said it seemed to accelerate when she hit the brakes, and when she threw it into park. Caller was injured. Caller's vehicle hit another vehicle on the street, and a police report was filed.

While putting vehicle in reverse it would not stop. Upon reversing vehicle ran into a shopping cart before stopping. Contacted dealer, and dealer was not willing to do anything.

The contact stated over the past five years the tie rods have split in half on four separate occasions. This has occurred within 65,000 miles on the vehicle. The dealership replaced the tie rods after each failure. The dealership determined the transmission needed to be rebuilt so the vehicle was sent to a transmission shop to have the repairs performed. The manufacturer has been alerted and explained to the contact this was a common failure for this vehicle.

Vehicle is going 45-55mph it starts to decelerate. Steering gets stiff. Oil pressure light comes on, and when brakes are applied vehicle begins to accelerate without pressing on accelerator pedal. Problem has duplicated itself many times, but dealer can't duplicate this problem to find a solution. Once vehicle is restarted there is no problem.
