car   Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of Honda Accord

The vehicle is a 1998 Honda Accord. Please be advised that this has happened on multiple dates ranging from 1999-2012. I thought it was covered through NHTSA campaign id #: 98v018000 but I did not use the car enough to recognize a pattern until 2002. I think at that time, there may have been several thousand miles in 2002 when I began to use the car on more routine bases. There are two occasions that cause the issue to arise. While I am driving, the steering column will lock up causing an issue to shift from gear to gear and the mobility of the car. As the steering column would lock and cause the horn to malfunction and not make a sound and the limit my mobility to park the car. Most streets that I drive are not on an incline but there have been few occasions, where if the car was on a slight incline, it would begin to roll. I would use the gear brakes to prevent an accident. Another issue involves another path (occasion) which causes the steering wheel to lock which causes malfunctions in the horn and the interlocking incident. If I am driving and in the stages of parking my car, the steering column will lock affecting the ability for me to change gear and my ability to adequately mobility when park. This has occurred more frequently now but it has occurred in 1999. When I was advised of the interlock recall, I thought this was addressed. Once this occurs, the car can only be unlocked when I drive when I press down of the hear charger, put the key in the slight covering the gear changer and move the steering wheel. Between NHTSA campaign id #: 03v423000 and NHTSA campaign id #: 02v120000, I thought these issue was addressed. When I called Honda today and spoke to [xxx] 800-999-1099 ext [xxx], the recall is associated with the VIN soi wanted to make sure this was acknowledged for incidents for my car model & VIN. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6). This issue happened on Wednesday, October 27, 1999.

Ther e was nothing attached to the stick, in other words nothing was hanging (no garbage bag or anything. This has happened at least 6 times. The car growls and I have to put it back in gear, now I'm anervous wreck. I took it into the the dealer twice and they couldn't find the problem. It has happened 3 more times since. I'm afraid to drive past 40mph or take the expressway. It seems to be a problem with the gear-shift\gas pedal\cluth, you can feel when its going to happen because th pedal moves under your foot and the shift gear moves if you put your hand on it. When the vehicle is put into park while running, when auto is put in reverse and foot is taken off brake the vehicle moves backward very quickly with no gas applied. When put in forward, it creeps at a slower speed than reverse. There is absolutely no possibility that the vehicle was left in reverse when the accident occured. I really want to know if there're anybody has the experiences. Im glad that the thing occurred in front of a wall, if it's in front of a store that might cause lives!!!!! car   Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem of Subaru Outback

The vehicle having this issue was a 2003 Subaru Outback. The vehicle had a crash. On January 26,2008 at 8:10 pm my husband and I arrived home from a dinner out. He stopped at the top of our very steep driveway and placed my 2003 Subaru Outback in park. The car was running. . . As I was in the car I didn't notice immediately that it was rolling. It made no grinding sound as it should have if it was slipping out of gear. It was as if it was in neutral. He yelled at me (I was strapped in the passenger seat) to hit the brake but I could not because I was strapped in my seat. I never thought of the emergency brake as I was panicked. In March of 2007 I was diagnosed with a very serious spinal condition and had to get a five level neck surgery to keep from becoming paralyzed. I was told that if I got hit on the back of the neck or was in an auto accident I could be paralyzed. The car reached a speed of about 10 miles per hour and I slammed into our 1997 rodeo isuzu. Thankfully the airbag did not deploy and jolt my head and I braced my hands on the dash. I suffered only minor wrist sprains and multiple bruises and some neck soreness and absolute physical shock. I have had nightmares about the accident. We called highway patrol and our insurance company. I did not feel it necessary to get medical attention as I was not seriously injured. After this was over my husband went on the internet and read about a recall of 2002 and 2003 legacy Outbacks because of a defect of the parking rod that fails to engage. My car was not on the recall list but it should be. I took it to the dealer to check this problem out and they, after having the car for 6 days only checked the parking break and the shifter and shifter linkage which didn't address my complaint about the parking rod at all. I am currently out $500 deductible for my Subaru and $3000 for the body damage to my other car and mostly I am still major concerned that this rolling in park thing will happen again. It was 01/26/2007 when this automatic transmission park/neutral start switch issue occurred.
