To be towed 13 miles away to route 23 auto at our expense. Really? route23 wanted nothing to do with me (they did recall). Went back and forth then per rt23 "it will be a month until we can look at it" getting know where. 7/18-22 borrowed friend car for tournament. 8/1/12 called magarino Ford and with great concern had a flatbed that night. Fluids raced out and double stabilized for engine sliding during transport. 8/2/12 magarino called 9am, pictures sent to Ford and awaiting reply. 8/5/12 t/c from m stating Ford refuses to buy back and sending a subframe. You mean a recalled one? magarino caught in middle I questioned whether he would put his children in this van. He softly replied, "no" what am I to do, out of work 2 years, single parent with no car to find work. 8/8/12 I questioned Ford why this van ever left rt 23 auto, according to researched paper a part was waiting on. You mean to tell me that upon this fixed axle nobody noticed the subframe was rotted from inside out causing the engine to fall out the next summer nearly killing my son! but they signed it was fine! really? now we have case # 1373091992 8/10/12 picked up van. car   Automatic Transmission problem of GMC Terrain

I have a 2. 5 month old 2011 GMC Terrain. At 4984 miles it is in the shop for stalling, for a horrible rattle upon start up, and for it jerking between first and second gear. When I took it in this morning it had stalled six times within the past 2 days. It stalls after start-up in forward and reverse and it stalled three times while in idle in a fast food drive-thru. There is also the rattling which happens on cold and warm starts, whether the a/c or eco mode are on. It sounds like metal rattling and like it is harming the engine. The least of my worries, is the fact that between 25-35 miles an hour the transmission shifts very hard and kicks myself and passengers forward. Apparently there is a tech bulletin that has been out for the rattle for several months. Why not fix them before they sell them? also, there is a recall #11195 for "rough idle, poor driveability" that doesn't show up on the NHTSA site or anywhere else but the GMC dealer's computer. Additionally, despite the claims, I have never gotten better than 21 mpg while driving this car including an all highway trip from michigan to indiana. I think it is false advertising and the fuel economy in eco or not is not what they claim when the y sold the vehicle to me. The failure date was Tue., Aug. 23, 2011.

car   Automatic Transmission problem of Land Rover Freelander

The vehicle involved is a 2002 Land Rover Freelander. A car made to break down on you. I bought a landrover Freelander 2002 and barely drove it. . . It had been a leased vehicle and was well taken care of. . . However. . . It broke down as soon as I got it. First it was a coolant problem, it overheated while I was driving it home from work. I live 5 miles from work. The first year I bought the car I put less than 1000 miles on it and had already brought it in at least 3 times for problems. The first was the coolant, and then I brought it in a few times since it constantly had this feeling as if the breaks were being applied. It has a hill decent button that would come on and I thought that was part of the problem, but it still did it regardless. It's as if the breaks were on and were stuck. And every time I brought it to landrover they said they couldn't find a problem. . . . Of course not. And then I had it in there and they said they had a bunch of "strange" codes pop up they hadn't seen before so they just "wiped" them as the man said. ??? he didn't bother to figure out why??? now. . . My car has been sitting for almost 3 years since I couldn't afford to fix the broken transmission. I have a total of 55350 miles on it. . Bought it at 43603 in 2005. All I see all over the internet is how these same problems have kept occurring and no one was held responsible for all the work and money that has to go into for fixing this. . . . It doesn't make sense that a company as large as landrover would be able to make a car that was bound to break down. . . And not have to fix the problems??? it ends up coming out of the pockets of the poor consumers who at this point are all on their own. I'm exceptionally disappointed. This was the first car I ever bought. . . I thought it was safe and I was having a baby 4 months later. All this vehicle has done is make my life more difficult. Thank you landrover. . . I will never ever buy a car from you. . . Or anything you make. You have no honor not to take care of your obvious mistakes in the creation of these cars. car   Automatic Transmission problem of Lexus RX350

The vehicle is a 2011 Lexus Rx350. I experienced a sudden unintended acceleration (sua) in the parking lot of my apartment on March 3rd, 2012. It was a sunny day, and the road condition was good. My wife was driving Lexus RX 350 2011 model (mileage: 2124miles). My daughter and I were sitting on the back seats. She was slowing down the vehicle for parking and about to finalize the parking by going forward by about 3 feet. At that time, the vehicle abruptly accelerated with the sound of revving up the engine. The car ran over a parking block and went on curb stones. By help of the brake override system equipped after the recent Toyota's recalls, she could stop the vehicle quickly because her foot was already on the brake pedal. We all were surprised at this rare situation, but fortunately there were no accidents or injuries. We reported this experience to a close Lexus dealership. Two Lexus engineers inspected the vehicle, including 10-mile test driving. However, they could not find any mechanical problems. They could not re-enact the same situation, neither. At this inspection, they did not check out the event data recorder, as well as any electronic systems like etcs. According to the inspection result, Lexus directed me to keep driving this vehicle with my own risk. This is not related to the floor mat interference problem that led to the massive recall in 2009. So, I think the current Lexus users, as well as potential consumers, should be aware of the possibility that they can experience the similar unintended acceleration while driving or parking. This problem occurred on 03/03/2012.

car   Automatic Transmission problem of Toyota Sequoia

The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. I was accelerating onto the freeway today and it felt as if the left brakes came on along with a screeching sound and it made me swerve left. I was able to avoid swerving into merging traffic but I nearly crashed. Over the last week the vsc off lights have started going on and off and and after reviewing some literature on line it seems that hundreds of others have had the same type of problem. The 2003 Sequoia was actually recalled for this same thing. Very dangerous and now I will have to contact the dealer to see about it getting fixed before someone is killed. I have two young children and this really pisses me off. Even if there is not a recall I should have been made aware of the danger I was putting myself in. I have been happy with my truck for 8 years but after this incident and seeing what others have gone through I will never buy another Toyota!!!. This problem occurred on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.

car   Automatic Transmission problem of Volvo XC90

The vehicle having this issue was a 2011 Volvo Xc90. I first experienced the delay in re-acceleration one morning on my way to work. After coming to a complete stop @ a stop sign, I stepped on the gas to take a turn and the car hesitated at a very slow pace to take off. I chalked it up as the car being cold early in the morning. It continued to happen periodically until one day it happened as I was stopped at a busy intersection waiting to turn left. When the intersection was cleared of oncoming traffic from a reasonable distance I pressed the gas to go and the car literally dragged in slow motion into the intersection. The acceleration was so slow that it allowed time for the oncoming traffic to reach me. With the front of my car in the intersection and the oncoming traffic coming directly at me at full speed I had to floor the gas pedal to jump kick the car into speed to get across the intersection safely. After that near death experience I called my dealer immediately. They were able to get me in the next day, gave me a loaner vehicle and kept my car overnight. I got a call from my service advisor the next afternoon stating that they could not duplicate the problem, however they will reset the cars computer to see if that helps. Well it didn't. I now don't drive the car unless I absolutely have to. It's still happening and I don't feel completely safe when driving my car. Our daughter will be getting her license soon and we thought out of our two cars that the Volvo Xc90 will be the safest for her to drive. Now I don't see it as even being an option for her. I've been online researching similar complaints by other 2011 Volvo Xc90 owners and didn't find much of anything. Perhaps there were just a few bad apples out of the bunch and I just happened to get one of them. My 2011 was purchased new off the showroom's floor June 2011 with 550 miles at delivery. I now have a little over 4000 miles. This issue happened on Thursday, July 28, 2011.

car   Automatic Transmission problem of Audi RS6

The vehicle having this issue was a 2003 Audi Rs6. VIN of the vehicle was WUAPV54B03_. Transmission would occaisonally slip to such an extent that when merging into traffic I had to pull to the shoulder as I couldn't accelerate. This is an expensive car that has much more power than most vehicles so under normal operations acceleration should be quick & fast. This first started with only 35~40,000 miles on the car. All Rs6 owners begin to learn that the only two week points in the car are the suspension and the transmission. Thanks to the NHTSA the vehicles were finally recalled for suspension failures. Now we are left with a substandard transmission design. I recently paid $5000 to have my transmission rebuilt by a shop that guarantees to fix the factory drawbacks. Previously I took it to the Audi dealer to no avail. This automatic transmission problem happened on Sat., Jan. 15, 2011.
