Too much proportioned to the front brakes causes warpage and sudden vehicle jerk. A problem occurring in the brake system is as serious as it gets. A recall is in order! the slight cost of replacing above mentioned component is nominal compared to just 1 life (I. E. 1 consumer). The vehicle involved was a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 3B7KF2367X_. Have had a severe right hand pulling problem under moderate to severe braking. I have brought my vehicle to the dealership at least four times for the same issue but the problem still persists. The problem seems to be worse as the brakes are at their operating temp. When brakes are cold the pulling problem is minimal. Prior visits to the dealership has resulted in the replacment of calipers, alignment and proportion valve. Eventhough these parts have been replaced the problem still exists. The problem revealed itself as early as 15,000 miles and has persisted intermittantly since that time.

The brakes have been replaced 4 times, master cylinder replaced, proportioning valve replaced, and right side caliper replaced. I have also had the following replaced: motor pulley, a/c compressor, tie rod, idler arm, pitman arm, coil in steering column, main belt, front differential gasket. Every time I take it in to the dealer, it seems that I am a pest. . . . . . . . I will never own another GMC product, and I am seeking legal advice for a possible manufacturer buyback. The failure date was Wednesday, September 6, 2000.

These vehicles are designed such that if the ebd is inoperative, the proportion of hydraulic force applied to the rear brakes during emergency braking is as great as it is during moderate braking effort when there is minimal transfer of vehicle weight to the front wheels. The ebd is supposed to adjust the front/rear braking distribution dynamically according to the measure of the deceleration, so that the rear wheels will not lock up during emergency braking. If this module should fail during emergency braking on dry pavement, the rear wheels could lock up and cause an accident which could easily include fatalities. This is an expensive repair for owners, costing roughly $2000, and many owners have probably put off the repair indefinitely. Evidence which can be found through a simple web search, suggests that the problem is widespread, and that if it has not already led to serious accidents, it is only a question of time. This problem is genuine, and vw/Audi should be compelled to take immediate corrective action. This brake differential proportional valve problem happened on 12/27/04.
