car   Brake Fluid problem of Chevrolet Venture

The vehicle was a 2003 Chevrolet Venture. VIN of the vehicle was 1GNDX03E93_. 2003 Chevrolet van purchased new 6/23/2003 from randy marion Chevrolet-pontiac-Buick, inc. , mooresville, nc 28115. Problem: squealing brakes. I have had this van into the dealership on five separate occassions in the past five months to have the brakes repaired. The dealership keeps my van from 2 to 4 days to 'make certain teh problem has been corrected'. The brakes have not been correctly repaired. Various service tickets state, "clean, adjust, applied anti-seize on rear backing bplates, beveled edge of brake shoes, and readjusted, clean and adjusted rear shoes and applied anti-squeal'. The brakes continue to squeal each time the brakes are applied. I am greatly concerned for my families safety. I am distressed that this dealership (randy marion) will not contact gm to ask for technical assistance to correctly resolve the brake problem as I have requested the dealership to do so. This problem occurred on Jul. 3, 2003.

The car involved is a 1999 Dodge 1500. The VIN of this Ram 1500 is 3B7HC13Z8X_. 1. Abs light kept coming on and brakes kept going to the floor. 2. Tried to carefully get it to a safe location off the highway and brakes eventually failed on me causing me to drive off the road and my back quarter panel scrapped a telephone pole. 3. Dealer claims nothing faulty from their side, but had to change the master cylinder, brake booster and flush brake fluid. Was told fluid was very dirty and black like the color of exhaust changing the color of the fluid. It was told I had contaminated fluid, but I don't know how this is possible. The old parts were apparently thrown away by the dealers a few days ago. I noticed others on the internet complaining about the same problems where the dealer claimed a particular problem and simply changed all of the brake parts. This is very fishy. Cost was $1,150, but the salesman nicely discounted the price to $852 when I told him I drive like a grandpa and don't understand how this happened. This problem occurred on Wednesday, October 6, 2004.

Part of the brake lines rise under a recess in the underbody floor. There a plastic shield protects it from the parking brake cable. It was there that the lines had corroded badly and ruptured. This is listed on sited on the internet and should be warned to all Taurus owners. It was Wed., Oct. 24, 2012 when this brake fluid issue occurred.

car   Brake Fluid problem of Lincoln Town Car

The car involved was a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. The VIN of the car is 1LNHM81W55_. The vehicle engine accelerates for no reason when I apply the brakes to stop and tries to move foward requiring me to reapply my foot on the brake pedal with force and put the transmission in nutrual to stop the forward or reverse motion of the vehicle. I had taken delivery of this vehicle on December 16, 2004 and have as of this date have driven it less then 2800 miles due to a major safety defect. I have taken this vehicle to the dealer service center to rectify this problem 3 times, I have also advised them in writing that, this problem makes the vehicle unsafe to drive on the road, and they advisedd me that, since this problem does not appear as an error code in the computer system they are unable to find or repair this. In essence they are unwilling to investigate this problem beyond attaching it to a computer to see if it shows any error code. The problem may be mechincal which would not show up in any computer or the problem may be in the transmission, or the fuel feed but they just have no intention to make this vehicle safe. I belive that this is not an isolated incedent but may be inherent in all vehicles built by Ford in this class. It was Jun. 15, 2005 when this brake fluid issue occurred.

car   Brake Fluid problem of Lincoln Town Car

The vehicle having this issue was a 2005 Lincoln Town Car. The car had a crash. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 1LNHM81W75_. I took delivery of my new Town Car and on the short drive home, I rear ended a car stopped at a traffic light. I saw the light was red and began by stop normally and then realized that the car was not stopping. I pressed harder on the brakes and the engine revved faster, the anti-lock brakes would grab and release and then I struck the stopped car. The impact did not set off the air bags but did considerable damage to the bumpers of both cars. I thought perhaps the accelerator had stuck and took my car in to the dealer, but they could find nothing wrong. Apparently my foot was on the brake and the accelerator when I tried to stop. A friend who has the same model Town Car as I have said that this happened to him 4 times when his car was new. My son's wife has a 2004 expedition and he says that he hates to drive it because the brake and accelerator are too close together. Another friend expressed the same concern. My nephew has a 2005 Ford diesel pickup and I am told that he was backing up to a dock and hit the accelerator along with the brake and slammed into the dock breaking his tail light. This vehicle and the others I have mentioned have pedals that adjust in and out together and in all positions the height is the same on both, after the slack is taken up on the brake. I had a 1997 Town Car and the distance between the brake and accelerator is almost twice as wide on the '97 I reported this to Ford and I do not like their response. I will quote one sentence that sums up the short letter - - "we suggest that you follow the direction of your insurance carrier, which has the right to file a subrogation claim against Ford motor company if it chooses to pursue the matter". I sincerely hope that something can be done to force Ford to correct this engineering error. It was Nov. 18, 2005 when this brake fluid issue occurred.

car   Brake Fluid problem of Saturn ION

I was driving my 2005 Saturn Ion2 and the brakes totally failed when I depressed the clutch on my 5 speed transmission. After taking it in for service the mechanic told me that the slave cylinder was leaking and allowed air into the brake system because the brakes and clutch have a shared hydraulic fluid reservoir. I couldn't downshift because the clutch failed and I couldn't brake because the brakes failed. The warning system failed because there was still some fluid in the shared reservoir. The warning light goes on when the system is out of fluid not when it is running low. Scary stuff. . . I could have been killed or killed others. Lucky for me I was not going highway speeds and/or on a busy street. I was able to use the emergency brake to stop. . . This problem occurred on 02/08/2006.

The vehicle having this issue was a 2000 Jaguar Xk8. The VIN of this vehicle is SAJJA42C4Y_. I was inside my vehicle (2000jaguarxk8) I was attempted to lower the convertible top down. The hydraulic lines which feed the motor failed and hydraulic fluid (3-4oz's) poured out from the top where the light console is in the headliner of the car onto me. Smoke came out of the light console as it was shorted out. I am reporting this safety hazard since hydraulic fluid is flammable and I am just lucky, that a fire did not start and I was not smoking at the time. I took the car to the dealership which was aware and had heard of this happening to others. They were able to replace these lines. I do not have the old parts. This brake fluid problem happened on 08/03/08.
