car   Brake Squeaking Noise problem of Chevrolet Cobalt

The car is a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt ss. The VIN of this vehicle is 1G1AP18X29_. The Cobalt brakes have always made a screeching sound, which gm has addressed as being normal. Chevrolet #08-05-22-004: information on brake squeal/squeak noise - (Jul 15, 2008)] however, I had to prematurely replace the rear brakes and have the rotors cut after only 27,039 miles, while the front brakes still had 50% life left. This is not a normal occurrence, since the front brakes should have worn out before the rear ones. While I was able to get 27,039 miles of wear, the fact that there is definitely a defect in the system means there is no guarantee that the condition will not worsen in time. There is also the chance that the system could fail completely causing a serious accident. Finally, the screeching sound is getting worse. This sound, along with the brake wear, will virtually reduce the value of the car considerably, making it nearly impossible to trade or sell, unless gm corrects this issue. The failure date was June 15, 2011.

car   Brake Squeaking Noise problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The vehicle involved was a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 2A4RR5D1XA_. A few months ago a squeaking noise began on the right side of the vehicle. At the end of March I took the vehicle to the dearlership to have the squeak looked at as well as have the front brakes and rotors replaced (at the time the vehicles mileage was 22,160). Service advisor reported that the squeaking was likely the result of the rear brakes and was not uncommon. The squeak has continued. Set up another appointment for may 17th to have the vehicle inspected again. Service advisor advised that the squeaking issue is indeed still the rear brakes, they are not bad and the pads are half gone but does not recommend that they need to be replaced at this time. As of June 19th, the squeak continues and at times get's worse. What I don't understand is why the brakes squeak when I am not even pressing on the brake pedal. Chrysler replaced the front brakes, why are they not replacing the rear brakes which obviously had more wear and tear due to the front brake issue they did address. Chrysler needs to admit fault on this issue as well. This issue happened on Mar. 26, 2012.

car   Brake Squeaking Noise problem of Dodge Journey

The car involved was a 2010 Dodge Journey. Squeaking noise while driving. Was told by dealership it is the rear brakes. They are at 10% and the rotors are too thin to be machined. Called Chrysler because they are only under warranty for 12,000 miles and they will not help out. I have never had a vehicle need rear brakes before 80,000 miles and then not being able to machine the rotors because they are too thin. . . I only have 35000 miles. I have also had to have the front brakes replaced at 21000 miles because the rotors are warped ( Chrysler covered the repair because it is a problem with many Journeys and the extended the warranty to 36000 miles. My brakes are again pulsating but I have to replace the rears before they will check the fronts). It was 11/12/12 when this brake squeaking noise issue happened.

The vehicle involved is a 2012 Ford Mustang. 122512 when going over speed humps vehicle makes squeaking noise. Dealer changed oil, rotated tires, and completed a multi point inspection. Suggested rotating tires and changing air pressure should help the problem. The squeaking continued but did not occur all the time. When calling the dealership after it persisted they suggested it may be the cold weather. 042613 called the dealership because after having tire pressure and tires checked the noise continued & was occurring over every speed hump, when I attempted to break pedal would not go down on 3 occasions, & when making sharp left turns the car made a knocking sound. I was also due for an oil change 20,000 mile service. The dealership serviced my vehicle 042713 and replaced the left/right inner tie rods but when they returned my vehicle the wheel was not aligned. The service department said it was because their machine was broken and when I complained they asked me to bring it back the following Tuesday (050213) to complete my service. They also made note there were unable to duplicate my brake pedal problems. In my service report they did not note the oil change, tire rotation, or service. When I mentioned this the advisor said it was completed. 052913 I returned my car to the dealer service department. I had my brake pedal stick 2 more times since my last visit, the noise going over speed humps returned, the knocked noise during hard left turns now also occurred during a right turn, & left side turn noise returned. Also oil setting reads only 86%. As of today (060213), I still do not have my vehicle or a clear answer as to what is wrong or will be repaired. After calling the service department on Friday (053113) & Saturday (060113), the service advisor only said they are ordering parts, the sales department would give me a call, & they may replace the swing arm. The failure date was Monday, April 15, 2013.

car   Brake Squeaking Noise problem of Jeep Grand Cherokee

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is 1J4PS4GK3A_. Two months after purchasing my used 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo with about 14,000 miles, my brakes began making an intermittent squeaking noise. When I took my vehicle to the authorized Jeep dealership, I was told that they could not recreate the noise and that nothing was wrong with my brakes. Over the next few months, the squeaking noise became more frequent. The next time I took it in to the same dealership, I was told that this is a common, known issue with Chrysler brakes related to humidity and the use of newer non-asbestos brake pads but that there was nothing wrong with my brakes and the warranty on them had expired after my last visit. This time they sprayed something on the them which worked for a few weeks. The next time I went back to the same dealership with this issue, they turned the rotors which also did nothing to get rid of the noise even though I was charged $180. Since the dealership continued to test my brakes regularly at my insistence and stated that nothing was wrong over the years that followed, I dealt with the noise. I finally replaced the brakes, including adding ceramic brake pads, for $1,200 two months ago. The squeaking noise has not reoccurred as of yet. The failure date was 08/10/2010.
