car   Cruise Control problem of Chevrolet Corvette

The car is a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. I and other Corvette owners are having the same issue as the most recent recall of other gm models. My brake lights will constantly be on. The active handling warning light will continue to show on dash and cruise control will disengaged and reengage on its own. The fix seems to be replacing the body control module. I have replaced the brake sensor and that did not fix the issue. After reading blogs I located other Corvette owners experiencing the same issues as I. This cruise control issue occurred February 11, 2014.. Read more...

car   Cruise Control problem of Chevrolet Malibu

The car was a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. Driving down the highway and the cruise stopped working. Shortly after that happened the traction control indicator and abs light came on. A message appeared to have those items serviced. This lasted for the remainder of my 20 minute drive. I started the vehicle back up after sitting for several hours and the lights were off and no message. This happened 4 more times until December. I did not notice that the brake lights stayed on until I was driving at night. I pressed the brake pedal and the brake lights would go out. The brake lights would come back on shortly after I depressed the brake pedal. There were times when just the cruise control would stop working and the brake lights worked incorrectly. This cruise control problem happened on 09/17/13.

car   Cruise Control problem of Ford Focus

The car was a 2013 Ford Focus. We were driving home and had been on the road using cruise control for approximately 2 1/2 hours when the vehicle shut off completely going from 70 mph to no power or electrical. We were fast lane on I-75 north and the car was without any power or hazard lights. We attempted to restart the car several times and finally it started after 5 minutes. Luckily a car stopped and had their hazard lights on. Since then our car fuel has decreased to 12 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. When you take off car bogs down and you have to mash hard on the gas to get it to move. The idle is rough and you can feel it running rough. We have had it into the dealership five times and since car does not code they will not work on it per Ford's policy. Thus, we have that Ford has advertised will get 28 in the city and 40 on the highway which we did get the first month before it died on the highway. Since then we are afraid to drive using cruise on on a trip. This cruise control issue occurred 08/27/13.

car   Cruise Control problem of GMC Terrain

The vehicle was a 2011 GMC Terrain. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 2CTALSEC7B_. The select the parts wont let me enter the description. When my vehicle is in cruise control the switch can be accidentally slightly touched and will shut off the cruise control causing the vehicle to immediately slow down without any warning to the vehicle behind me since the brake lights do not come on. I really feel that this is a safety related issue. GMC has a new cruise control switch for 2012 which is a push on and push off switch which alleviates this problem. I have contacted GMC and they informed that there is no plan to retrofit the 2011 Terrain with the new 2012 switch. Please advise! GMC knows that the toggle switch was faulty and replaced it with a push on push off switch. I just want my vehicle to be safe. It was Saturday, October 15, 2011 when this cruise control issue occurred.

car   Cruise Control problem of Acura MDX

The vehicle is a 2014 Acura Mdx. The VIN of this vehicle is 5FRYD3H88E_. Traveling 65 mph on a freeway with adaptive cruise control (acc) engaged, vehicle suddenly brakes hard on its own for no apparent reason; dropping 10 mph in a heartbeat. The vehicle did not produce a collision warning message on the dash. The cars in front on me were well beyond the longest 4 bar range of the acc so it was not detecting and locked onto a car in front of me. There were no cars on either side, no car crossing in front of me and the road was flat with no obstacles. Fortunately, the car behind me was not tailgating as the sudden deceleration could have caused a rear end collision. Sudden deceleration has happened twice during the six weeks I've owned this vehicle. I've also noticed that the acc is inconsistent, often sluggish, in responding to the speed of traffic when it is detecting a car in front of me; creating additional hazard concerns for the driver. The failure date was May. 12, 2014.

car   Cruise Control problem of Honda Accord

The car was a 1997 Honda Accord. I have noticed this problem for the past 2+ winters on my car. The first time it happened, I was going home from work on a cold winter night. I got the freeway and accelerated to 55 mph. I then set the cruise control (as I normally do in light traffic). I noticed that the car's engine was still revving a lot more than it should. I looked down and noticed that I was doing 70 mph. I immediately stepped on the brake to deactivate the cruise control. I continued to notice this issue all winter. I set the cruise at 40 mph and noticed that it went up by about 20 mph above the setting before it finally stopped accelerating and settled back to the cruise set speed (or close to it). In the warm weather this problem disappears. This problem occurred on 01/07/13.

car   Cruise Control problem of Honda CR-V

The vehicle having this issue was a 2010 Honda Cr-v. There was crash involved with this problem. This has happened twice. In April 2013, I was driving on an interstate. To avoid hitting a slowing car, I tapped the brake and turned the wheel slightly to move completely back into the right lane. The car accelerated exponentially, as if overdrive had been turned off or cruise control had kicked in (cruise was not on). The car sped uncontrollably first toward the right shoulder and then to the left while I turned the wheel to stay on the road. This happened half a dozen times before the car finally stopped. The second event occurred while pulling into a front end parking space at an office building. Speed was not sufficient to register on the odometer. Tapping the brake caused the car to accelerate as described previously, heading toward a brick wall about 8 feet away. I removed my foot from the brake, but the car continued to accelerate. I was able to turn the car and avoid the wall, but took out all the front plantings, a light pole and a small tree, doing almost $3,000 damage to my car plus more for the building. I immediately took the car to my local Honda service. Their response: we could not duplicate the problem. Bring it back when this happens again. For a while I have accepted this diagnosis, but another occurrence could cause serious injury to property, to me or to others. I have read of other incidents with this vehicle. I am pursuing this matter with Honda. This must be fixed!. It was Mon., Apr. 22, 2013 when this cruise control issue happened.

car   Cruise Control problem of Hyundai Genesis

The car was a 2013 Hyundai Genesis. Crash was involved with the Hyundai Genesis. While traveling at the posted highway speed I had the cruise control engaged when suddenly the car lurched, then surged. I started/tried to use the brakes to slow the car. That didn't work. I tried to disengage the cruise control. . . That didn't work. . . . Car kept speeding up till I hit a massive RV at 90mph. I was knocked unconscious, taken by ambulance to a trauma center, and later learned that none of the many airbags that this car had did not deploy. I am truly blessed having survived this accident. There needs to be better vehicles with better working systems to protect us. I will not rent another Hyundai ever again!!. This cruise control problem happened on 07/07/2013.

car   Cruise Control problem of Infiniti QX56

The car involved was a 2004 Infiniti Qx56. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 5N3AA08C94_. I have complained over the course of 4-6 months about the cruise control going out. It either goes out completely, or the cruise control without Smart following goes out. When it does go out, bumping the increase speed button causes the engine to idle thuslosing speed. Expecially bad on the interstate. The dealer claims they cannot find the problem (denied this problem 3 times now). Seems funny when there is a TSB to cover the work. Date here is date of last service to repair paint which is chipping off the front. . Down to bare metal, and then metal rusting. . . Which is a whole different can of worms. It was Mar. 14, 2005 when this cruise control issue happened.

car   Cruise Control problem of Kia Motor Sportage

The car involved is a 2006 Kia Motor Sportage. As of Saturday my brake lights would not shut off, then I noticed while driving the electronic stability control light kept flashing on and off by itself. And the cruise control was not working properly as well. So I got online to investigate this and found there was a recall for this exact problem with my year and model car. But when I called kia they stated that my car was not part of the recall and that I would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs, even though my make model was recalled and my car was doing the same thing that was recalled. This problem occurred on April 26, 2014.

The grinding worsens in hot weather or after driving for a long period of time. The dealer advised him to bring in the vehicle and they changed the steering shaft. The vehicle has been to the dealer approximately 7 times for the same failure, but there has been no successful remedy. The vehicle is currently at the dealer having the rack and pinion changed. The technician stated that the repair to the rack and pinion would only be a temporary repair until the manufacturer could provide a better remedy. The speed was unknown. car   Cruise Control problem of Land Rover LR3

The vehicle is a 2006 Land Rover Lr3. The VIN of this vehicle was SALAE24456_. This is the second brand new range rover Lr3 (v6) that would not stop and instead accelerated rapidly through a stop sign across a highway. My previous complaint concerned the first car with the same problem. See complaint #10154482. This car had abut 200 miles on it. Like the first one we bought, it also could not be stopped when forcefully applying the brake. Instead it took off and later came to a stop. We lunged through an intersection across a highway and fortunately no other cars were coming. We had this car also towed to the dealer. Since the dealer could find nothing wrong with the last car that did the same thing, this time they were quicker with a refund. My wife and I still don't know what they did with the vehicles, nor what the actual problem was. The tow driver of the first car said it was a cruise control problem. Whatever the problem is, it is very serious and dangerous. What are the odds of this happening to two vehicles purchased only one month apart?. This problem occurred on Mon., Jan. 2, 2006.

car   Cruise Control problem of Lexus LS460

The vehicle involved was a 2010 Lexus Ls460l. Automobile hesitates, then surges under normal driving conditions. The car feels as if it is shifting into neutral, then into gear, while in normal driving mode, causing a sudden unexpected acceleration. This problem has been demonstrated 1. Normal city driving with no additional throttle applied. 2. Freeway driving with no additional throttle applied. 3. Freeway driving with cruise control. 4. When starting from a dead stop 5. When accelerating to merge into traffic this issue occurs in all driving modes (eco, normal, power). It is intermittent, but has been increasing in frequency. Because this problem is intermittent, the throttle response is unpredictable. It has caused several near misses when accelerating from a dead stop, almost hitting car in front. It has also made merging on to freeway dangerous due to hesitation and no response from accelerator. This has been an ongoing problem and has been reported to the Lexus dealer since 5,000 mile service. After complaints at every service (car now has 25,000 miles), dealer kept car for two weeks for diagnostics. Results of diagnostics as follows: "at 70mph with acceleration in eco mode),felt two down shifts during acceleration which gives the sensation that there is no acceleration, then sudden acceleration. This acceleration is not as great in regular mode but can still be felt. This is a normal action of the transmission operation. No repairs performed needed or recommended. ". This issue happened on 01/07/2011.

car   Cruise Control problem of Lexus RX350

The car involved is a 2013 Lexus Rx350. Crash was involved with the Lexus Rx350. I was driving on I-59 north with wife as passenger with radar cruise control set at 70 mph approaching departure exit. I tapped the brake pedal to release the cc and it did not release. Thinking I had not tapped it hard enough, I made the turn and tapped the brake pedal harder. The cc did not release. I applied the brakes with full force. The engine raced to satisfy the cc and the speed was 69 mph going into the exit. My focus was steering the vehicle to avoid objects and traffic. We crashed across a four lane concrete curbed boulevard and into a chain-link fence. I steered down a frontage road and brought the vehicle to a stop. This was a 30 second + event. The black box captured 9. 5 seconds of information. Lexus downloaded the black box and I requested a copy of the information which they did furnish on a thumb drive. They immediately erased all evidence of the crash from the vehicle data recorder and proclaimed there were no problems with the vehicle. The thumb drive data clearly displays that the car was traveling 69 mph on the data recorder. It also shows that the cc dropped out during the crash. I received a letter from Toyota legal in torrance, CA, indicating that their review of the vehicle found nothing wrong with it and the case was closed. The body shop repairs were $16k plus the depreciated value of the vehicle is $11k. Nalley Lexus galleria, smyrna, GA, where the vehicle was purchased, defers all communications to Toyota. I have been a Toyota customer since 1990 and this has been my third Lexus RX. Bitter sweet end! mb. The failure date was 11/19/12.

car   Cruise Control problem of Lincoln Town Car

The car involved was a 1998 Lincoln Town Car. The cruise control module stopped working on my vehicle and now I'm told it can't be replaced. Subsequently, the radio & a/c stopped working. This cruise control module had to be replaced because of it's ability to spontaneously combust the car in flames as it did on my 1996 Lincoln Town Car. Why doesn't the government enforce the recall laws?. This problem occurred on Jun. 10, 2013.

car   Cruise Control problem of Lincoln MKX

The vehicle having this issue was a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The VIN of the car is 2LMDJGJK1B_. Tried to tap the brakes to take the cruise control off and it wouldn't disengage. Tapped harder and then stomped on the brake to release it and stop from hitting the car in front of me. After that, it was very hard to make the brakes work. Took it a Ford dealer while it was still under warranty and they claimed they couldn't duplicate it. Finally took it to a Lincoln dealer after the 50k mile warranty expired and they made me pay for a new brake booster. Now the car won't start everytime because it says the brake isn't depressed, but of course, it was!. This cruise control problem happened on Sunday, Jun. 2, 2013.

car   Cruise Control problem of Mazda Tribute

The car involved is a 2008 Mazda Tribute. While driving on the interstate, I glanced down to see I was going 75mph. When I backed off the gas, the car did not slow down. It kept going to 75 mph even though I was not using cruise control. I managed to apply the breaks hard enough to slow the car down and get to the side of the road. (it took all my weight on the break to slow it down) I had the car towed where the dealer said the only thing they could find was that the rubber mat was wedged under the gas pedal. (I specifically remember sticking my foot under the pedal and lifting it upward in an attempt to stop the acceleration and slow the car. ) the mats are heavy duty and do not slide around or bunch up. This cruise control problem happened on Wed., Mar. 26, 2014.

car   Cruise Control problem of Mazda Tribute

The vehicle is a 2005 Mazda Tribute. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is 4F2YZ92Z05_. I received this car from my deceased parents about 3 years ago. There has been numerous occasions that my gas pedal has stuck either while I'm stopped and try to go or if I am shifting gears. This is very dangerous if my gas pedal is sticking. It happened 3 times September 14, 2013 within a 10 min period on the drive out to my son's soccer game. I have 2 stop signs and 4 stop lights between that area and the gas pedal stuck at one light and both stop signs. On other occasions my cruise control has revved up when trying to turn it off and it has also just gotten stuck. That could be very dangerous when trying to slow down for traffic ahead. car   Cruise Control problem of Mercedes Benz ML350

The vehicle having this issue was a 2013 Mercedes Benz Ml350. The cruise control lever is located on the left hand side of the steering column, just below the lever for the turn signal mechanism. car   Cruise Control problem of Nissan Pathfinder

I am having problems with the cruise control on my new Nissan Pathfinder 2014. 1. Cruise control intermittently disengages going down a shallow but straight road. In a 3 to 4 mile driving stretch, it will, at times, disengage 2 to 3 times. 2. The setâ and ã¢resumeâ toggle switch at times then does not re-engage the cruise control. The switch acts dead. I then have to switch off the cruise control and then switch it back on to have the toggles switch work but not always. 3. The cruise and set indicators on the instrument panel do not flicker. The Nissan dealer carried out a test run and found the cruise control disengaging exactly as stated above. They replaced part #25550-3ks1a, switch assembly-ste, to resolve the problem but it did not. They reiterate that such a condition of cruise disengagement as stated in the ownerã¢s manual is considered normal and acceptable. Having read the ownerã¢s manual, I do not find any mention of the toggle switch intermittently acting dead after disengagement of the cruise control nor the high frequency of the disengagement. This condition is causing me to concentrate more on the instrument panel rather than on the road. I am repeatedly unsure whether the cruise is engaged or not. This distraction could result in a fatal accident. It's like texting while driving. Either way, the end result would be an avoidable fatality(s). This condition clearly amounts to a road safety hazard. The manufacturer, by merely stating that the cruise may disengage driving down in hilly terrain cannot absolve itself of the responsibility for the safety of the occupants of the car. Such high frequency of cruise disengagement and toggle switch failure cannot be considered normal. More than likely a software design problem. It was Nov. 15, 2013 when this cruise control issue occurred.

The vehicle was a 2004 SAAB 9-5. The VIN of the problem 95 is YS3ED45A74_. I have a 2004 SAAB 9. 5 that I bought new on April 1, 2004. From day 1 the cruise control was working erratically. Dealer said he could not replicate problem. Then cruise control stopped working. Then the electric trunk lock stopped working. I contacted the dealer telling it that even though I was now beyond the 50,000 mile portion of the 4 year warranty (of which only 28 months had elapsed) I wanted the trunk and cruise issues fixed along with a laundry list of items that were not addressed previously the last time I brought the car in under warranty. They have refused to address any of the issues. I found a site on the internet called Saabnet. A particular post hit the problem on the head. car   Cruise Control problem of Saturn ION

The car is a 2004 Saturn Ion. My fiance and I were driving down the road about 40 45 mph and the light up ahead changed yellow to red just before I could come to a complete stop, my car accelerated I held both feet on the brake and the car kept wanting to inch forward itseemed as if I held the gas pedal down to the floor I got within 2 or 3 feet from the car in front of me out of instinct I quickly put the car in neutral and shut it off had I not I would have rear ended the car in front of me I then waited a minute or two tops put it in park and started it, it acted normal I thought maybe there was and object or something that may have slipped by my feet while driving or my floor mat moved there was nothing there . There has been other times like right after starting it up it revs to the highest rpm possible as if its going to blow up I hurry and shut it off wait a few minutes and try again, and another time I drove about 2 miles going down the road at 45 mph as if I had cruise control on when my car doesnt have that feature which is really scary I dont know what to do please help thank you. car   Cruise Control problem of Saturn ION

The car involved was a 2003 Saturn Ion. On multiple occasions this vehicle has accelerated without pushing the gas pedal, with no cruise control option, it's unsolved by multiple mechanics. Sometimes the brake works while it's happening, sometimes it doesn't, the most recent time I pulled into a parking lot where I had to hold the brake down to shut the car off, I could smell the transmission, I turned vehicle off, turned it back on and it went to over 5 rpm still, turned back off, sat and waited, it was 2am so I couldn't call anyone. After 10 minutes it finally went back to normal. That was the most severe, it's had slightly similar issues at least 4 times. First mechanic said it was a cruise control issue, then I told him I was leaving since the vehicle doesn't have cruise control at all. Don't want him working on it. 2nd one ran computer check, no issue found. Hopefully gm recalls this before it kills someone. This car has had many issues me and my father could fix, ignition switch, wiper blade transmission, coolant light but this one isn't easy. This cruise control issue occurred 01/02/14.

car   Cruise Control problem of Subaru Outback

The car is a 2006 Subaru Outback. I have experienced this twice in the past 3 months. Both time my car goes to limo mode. The check engine light comes on and the cruise control light flashes. The pedal does not rev the engine. After a number of tries, the pedal will become responsive again. After about 3 restarts once the engine is reving the check engine light and cruise will go out and the car will be normal until it does it again. When I read the code, it's p2138 indicating it's an issue with the 2 reducent sensors on the pedal disagreeing about where the pedal is. This is a very serious defect! call soa and asked to take it to the authorized dealership. Bought the car at west Subaru herr buffalo, live in canada now. It was Wednesday, March 19, 2014 when this cruise control issue occurred.

car   Cruise Control problem of Subaru Outback

The vehicle involved was a 2006 Subaru Outback. I was driving the vehicle at a steady rate of 50mph. Suddenly the cruise control indicator light illuminated and began to flash as well as the check engine indicator light. The vehicle also became unresponsive to the accelerator when pressed or depressed. The vehicle would maintain a speed about 20mph even after coming to a complete stop. After pulling to the side of the road and engaging the hazard lights, I put the car in park. The rpm gauge then skyrockets to 3000-4000 rpm and the engine becomes really loud. I turn the key off and let the car sit for a few minutes. Neglecting to sit for a few minutes results in the same behavior. After starting the car again the cruise control indicator light still flashes and the check engine indicator light remains on. After 3 restarts both indicator lights are off and all seems fine. After taking it to the dealership they told me it is a "bad accelerator and it has been replaced recently". The dealership then reset the code. This has happened over 10 times in the last 3 months and continues to happen on a random basis. Loss of power and control is unsafe and needs to be addressed. This cruise control problem happened on Feb. 21, 2014.

car   Cruise Control problem of Suzuki Vitara

The car involved was a 1999 Suzuki Vitara. VIN of the vehicle was 2S3TE52V0X_. Since purchase car has exhibited serious vibration throughout vehicle at about 40 mph and cruise control unit operates erratically after a downshift is required-Suzuki factory represenative originally said a new type ecm would correct the conditions but later said no such part existed after the dealer had ordered it and waited two months for it to be delivered and installed in my vehicle- Suzuki subsequently authorized balancing the tires, replacing the cruise control module, replacing the driveshaft, and repairing the differential, and inspection of the frame and crossmembers all to no avail as the problems still exist and are getting worse. I have expressed to Suzuki my concern of a causal relationship between vibration and metal fatigue and component failure and my concern as to the safety of my vehicle and Suzuki responded to the dealership by telephone on 07/27/01 instructing the dealer to make no repair attempt as the vehicle is "operating as design and intent". On that same day another Suzuki Vitara owner was at the same dealership experiencing similar problems and was also informed by the service manager(tom colglazier) and assistant service manager(steve cook) that Suzuki would authorize no repair attempts to their vehicle either. As Suzuki is unwilling to voluntarily correct these serious safety isssues concerning their viatra product line I feel an investigation and possible recall action is warranted. This cruise control issue occurred Tuesday, July 24, 2001.

car   Cruise Control problem of Toyota Camry

The car involved is a 2013 Toyota Camry. I was driving on m-80 across illinois, for about 2 hours on cruise control, set at 69 mph. I suddenly realized that the car seemed to be going too fast, as I passed a couple cars rather quickly. I glanced at the speedometer and saw it, in about one second, go from 85 mph to 87 mph and I immediately braked, thereby stopping the cruise control (?) from continuing to accelerate the car. When this happened, I did not have my foot on the gas pedal or my hand near the cruise control mechanism. The car just simply accelerated quickly on it's own. I tried to continue to use cruise control to drive back to michigan, however shortly thereafter, it began to rain/snow so I didn't use the cruise control after that. This is a new car that I just bought in September. The failure date was Monday, November 11, 2013.

car   Cruise Control problem of Toyota Tundra

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 5TFKM5F17A_. Within a year or two of purchasing this 2010 Toyota Tundra I noticed erratic and unpredictable acceleration characteristics when accelerating to pass and when the cruise control was engaged going up hills. The speed would increase more than necessary to accomplish the task. I decided this behavior was a personality trait of the Tundra as it never caused an unsafe situation to occur. Over the last two years I have noticed a hesitation of acceleration from stopped. I can depress the accelerator pedal and the engine sounds like it wants to go but acceleration is very lethargic. Response to accelerator pedal depression is unpredictable in that at intermittent times it just does not cause much acceleration. The tendency is to then press further down on the accelerator pedal and then the truck will eventually take off rather fast. I have not yet visited my Toyota dealership about this but I do intend to. I believe that the acceleration issue in the Toyota Tundra is perplexing and dangerous. Somebody is going to be seriously hurt because of it. I am amazed that Toyota has not been held accountable. I am skeptical about Toyota's ability or interest in fixing the problem. This cruise control problem happened on Apr. 2, 2012.

car   Cruise Control problem of Volkswagen Passat

The vehicle having this issue was a 2014 Volkswagen Passat. I rented a 4 door vw Passat (license plate n364495; mva # 65181266) from avis at the baton rouge airport on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Today, April 11, 2014, while driving on the highway from new orleans to baton rouge my car accelerated to 80 miles and stayed at that rate (without me having my foot on the gas), approximately 7 or 8 times. My speed did not go down unless I pressed on the breaks, similar to what occurs when someone engages cruise control (but I had not engaged cruise control). Although this issue occurred several times, I could not positively identify the movements necessary to recreate the effect. However, I do know that it occurred at least some of the times (and possibly every time) when I was accelerating to pass a car * moved to the right hand lane. Towards the end of my drive I made sure to only be touching the steering wheel at the bottom, therefore it was not possible that I accidentally engaged the cruise control via any of the side levers, and on my model the only buttons on the steering wheel itself were for radio volume and station. I did not get into an accident, but I could imagine different circumstances had this issue arisen during denser traffic conditions. It was Friday, Apr. 11, 2014 when this cruise control issue occurred.

car   Cruise Control problem of Audi A6

The car is a 1996 Audi A6. The VIN of this vehicle is WAUJC84A7T_. On the morning of February 11th 2014, my daughter was on her way to school when her vehicle began to accelerate on its own. She believes she was going between 25 and 35 miles per hour when the vehicle began to accelerate and topped out at 70 before she was able to get it to slow down. She stated to me after the incident that she had to press both feet on the brake pedal to get the car to stop. Fortunately there was no accident and she was able to safely pull over to the side of the road. I took her car to friend¿s house, dropped her off at school and took her vehicle to sunny side Audi in middleburg ohio. They found the speed control was malfunctioning. They told me that it would be between $800 and $1000 to repair. I paid them $138. 00 to disconnect the cruise control and we haven¿t had any continuing problems with the cruise control. The $138 isn¿t going to break me but then again breaking me is why I am writing this complaint. I have given this incident a lot of thought; what could have happened, how lucky we are that my daughter didn¿t panic and then I realized that there are more than likely many more 1996 Audi A6¿s out there and who knows other Audi¿s in general with the same cruise control set up that is installed in our car that have or will malfunction. I am hoping that someone will look into this incident. You are more than welcome to inspect our vehicle. I was surprised by the response of the sunny side Audi service department. They offered us no support or avenue for assistance for repair and treated this incident like any other vehicle repair. We were lucky it wasn¿t worse and we are grateful but I would like to be reimbursed and have the vehicle properly repaired. This problem occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014.

car   Cruise Control problem of Audi A4

I was driving my 2004 Audi A4 (1. 8, convertible) on a local road at approx 30mph, when the accelerator suddenly dropped from under my foot and the car accelerated very rapidly. It felt like the cruise control had come on by itself (the cruise control was completely off at the time). I put the car in neutral and pulled over. When I shut the car off, the gas pedal popped up and felt normal. When I turned the car back on several times, it continued to immediately accelerate all the way with the gas pedal dropping to the floor. The car is now being towed to a mechanic. Had I been in a tighter situation at the time, it could've been ugly. This cruise control problem happened on Monday, October 28, 2013.

car   Cruise Control problem of Cadillac CTS

The vehicle was a 2004 Cadillac Cts. Had my cruise control set at 70 mph for highway driving when I heard a psshhh sound and cruise control broke violently and smelled burnt rubber with smoke coming from back end of car. Pulled over immediately and car smoke from back end and smell only increased. Thought for sure I had a tire blowout. Walked around car and nothing wrong with tires. Had car towed to an auto repair place and am told that the rear differential went out. I have since investigated and found many, many forums about this issue. There are no recalls for this particular model but a certain recall for 2005 models. This situation could have been deadly and I feel both fortunate and upset with gm that such a problem has been so commonly noted but with no "real" resolve. The auto repair place has called around and this is a special part that is not available in my state and a new one costs an estimated $1,200. With so many issues with models 2004-2006 how come there is no recall for 2004 and only a lesser degree of a recall for 2005?. This cruise control issue occurred Monday, November 25, 2013.

VIN of the vehicle was 3GYFNGE33D_. This is a report of a nearly fatal accident on June 29th, 2013 with a new Cadillac Srx that was leased from gm. The accident involved both me and my daughter who were belted in the vehicle which caught fire and accelerate to 110 mph. We were traveling on rt 127 n with the cruise control set at 60 mph. I was passing another vehicle and the speed started to dramatically increase. I would break and the speed would come down and then it would continue to rise. Black smoke was coming out of the engine. Using both feet on the brake, it finally came down to 5mph, but it would not stop. I pulled over at 5 mph and shifted the car into park. I used onstar and shortly thereafter the fire department, the sheriff, and another police officer were on the scene. This was a life threatening event!! the car was towed back to the dealership in adrian. I leased this car on 5-31-13, our second Srx and less than a month old. I sent a letter to dan akerson at gm regarding the aforementioned and have had no response. I am going on week two with no car and no resolution with this incident.
