car   Door Latch problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The car involved was a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The power doors, both sides and the rear hatch, open at random, either when vehicle is parked and turned off or while driving the vehicle. I have found my vehicle on the street with a door open, once during a snow storm and the inside was inundated with snow. I'm afraid I might find a homeless person sleeping there or a nest of skunks perhaps, or maybe stripped clean by a thief. The key fob has been eliminated as a suspect of inadvertently operating the doors. Once I closed a side door with the button on the inside of the car and after a few moments, it reopened. On three incidences doors opened while driving. This I assume to be a real safety hazard. Imagine if the rear was packed with luggage or groceries and the hatched open while driving on the highway. I wouldn't want to be the car driving behind me! the car was purchased 09/08/09 and currently has 4400 miles on it. These events happen sporadically and I have yet to have the dealer look into it (I had to cancel the first appointment due to a snowstorm) but I suspect they will think I'm crazy just as I thought my wife was crazy when the first time she told me the rear hatch opened while driving. I didn't believe her until it happened to me a few months later. And it happened to me again more recently. This problem occurred on February 13, 2010.

At the same time, the passenger in the right rear seat was in the process of opening their door and exiting. Due to the close proximity of their door edge (approximately 1/16 inch) and the car itself, a finger tip on my right hand was completely amputated when the door was opened. I was taken by ambulance to hospital where surgery was performed. It was 08/03/13 when this door latch issue happened.

car   Door Latch problem of Ford Fusion

The car was a 2007 Ford Fusion. While l was driving on wet pavement with the speed control engaged and set to 35 mph, I rounded the top of a hill and the vehicle began to speed up as usual. I applied the brakes lightly to maintain 35 mph and the speed control failed to disengage and spun the left front tire until black smoke was rolling out from under the fender. It lasted a few seconds before it released. I had a Ford dealer check the brakes to see if the left front caliper had a problem and they did not find a problem. They also had no solution for the speed control failing to disengage. Note: the daytime phone is useless since I am assigned to another building at work away from the phone on my desk. Updated 01/28/lj I contacted Ford once again after the third throttle problem. The third time involved the speed control burning rubber on a wet road after I applied the brakes to maintain speed going down hill with the speed control set for 35. Their response was to ignore the problem as usual. They didn't do anything for any of my complaints even when the car was under warranty. The dealer would not ever replace a broken plastic door handle in the inside until it broke off completely. After they replace it with another plastic handle the spring cut through the plastic again, but I realized that the piece of plastic the broke off was still in the recessed area for the handle and would have caused it to break off completely again if I had not removed it. The chrome also pealed off and cut my fingers again so I scraped it off the top of the handle. They still haven't changed the design of that. For over $21,000 that I paid for the car, they could have at least made one out of aluminum. This issue happened on Oct. 20, 2013.
