car   Emission Control problem of Chrysler 300C

The vehicle is a 2006 Chrysler 300c. The VIN of this vehicle was 2C3LA73W06_. The engine will stall after every fill-up. It stalls within 15 seconds after starting it up at the gas station. It will then stall repeatedly at intersections and every time the car comes to a stop. In addition, it has stalled while making right hand turns and misfires and stumbles while at speed. The stalling/misfiring episodes do not occur once 2-3 gallons of gas have been consumed. This situation is extremely dangerous as I have been nearly rear ended as traffic started to pull away from a green light, and also stalled at intersections while making right turns. The Chrysler dealer said nothing was wrong since they didn't find any codes or TSB's regarding this problem. I have taken the car to an independent garage and they found a lot of chatter on their mechanic help websites. They think it might be the emission control that sits on top of the gas tank. The top gas in the tank is flooding over to the engine and stalling it out. Since Chrysler nor anyone else can say what definitively is going on I have cautiously not been filling the tank. This car is dangerous since the next owner may not be aware of this issue. This problem occurred on Feb. 1, 2012.

car   Emission Control problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The vehicle was a 1999 Chrysler town and country. Within a few months of buying this vehicle brand new a loud noise developed while steering at low speeds that was later ascribed to a loose belt. A few months later, while spouse was driving at approx 45-50 mph, the speedometer went dead and the transmission got stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. The vehicle slowed down and would not go much faster than about 35 mph. This was latter determined to be due to some faulty sensor. Just a few months after that, with the vehicle barely 2 years old, the battery went dead for no apparent reason. New battery was needed. Now I have this humming noise in the rear brakes with barely 31k miles on the vehicle. What's next? this thing (so-called vehicle) has already cost us much lost time (taking it to the dealer) and the associated money in lost wages!.

car   Emission Control problem of Ford Taurus

The vehicle was a 2000 Ford Taurus. Since 2004, I had to have my engine rebuilt in 2009 the cost was 1,700, due to failure in the coolant system"probable cause was the coolant system eroded', and still have coolant issues, the repairs on the coolant was almost 700. After those repairs were conducted, I had my car towed to grand prairie Ford, because my car would not change gears. Grand prairie Ford presented me a repair list stating at that point my car needed a new transmission and would cost another 3,000 to repair. I had my car towed to eagle transmission in irving, texas. The manager told me nothing was wrong with the transmission and in fact it was an electrical error and that the brain would have to be recalibrated. I had the car towed back to grand prairie Ford to have the brain recalibrated. The car at that point drove off their lot just fine. Grand prairie Ford would not give me an answer on why they tried to tell me that I needed parts when in fact nothing was wrong with them. They did state they replaced the seat belts due to the recall. My driver seat belt disengages still while driving. I have to replace the tires several times a year due to suspension issues'ball joints, tire rods, struts, shocks', even after repairs were conducted it has been a continuing issue now costing several thousands. I have not been able to have this car inspected in 2 years due to emission control. I have replaced all of the defective parts and still the car will not pass. Also this car was a split year model and has been a nightmare when replacing any parts. I do have every receipt for all repairs and parts that have been bought for this car and the falsified statement from grand prairie Ford and a letter from eagle transmission to prove this statement that I have made today is true. However, I still have a car that I can not drive because it would be illegal and Ford motor CO. Does not honor their vehicle. The failure date was 01/01/2009.

You would think this would be covered under the warranty? well, everything else is covered except the thermostat. . . Sigh. How is it possible for a four year old vehicle with normal mileage blow a thermostat? I'm wondering if this is common amongst the Vue's and if maybe there might be a recall coming. Toyota will not give me any documentation on the recall for my vehicle that affects the emission control ejector to fail and the vehicle going into fail safe mode. Toyota representatives are telling me that the noise is normal and is suppose to be there. This noise was not present before the update and I do not feel that the vehicle is safe when it is extremely secretive about the recall or the update that is being performed on the vehicle due to the recall. My vehicle makes noises that do not sound right. I did not purchase the car making all of this noise and I want the vehicle to perform and function as it did when I purchased it. This emission control problem happened on Oct. 17, 2013.

car   Emission Control problem of Toyota Camry

VIN of the vehicle was 4T1BE46KX7_. I purchased a 2007 Toyota Camry new in 2007 ( this is my 5th Toyota) and religious follow the suggested maintenance Toyota recommends. After approximately 50 k miles the engine started burning oil and the engine became very noisy. The car currently uses about a quart every 1200 miles. I took my vehicle to the dealer and they said there is no problem with the engine. From what I read on the safercar. Gov, edmunds. Com websites and the consumeraffairs. car   Emission Control problem of Volkswagen Passat

The vehicle was a 2006 Volkswagen Passat. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is WVWEK73CX6_. I began to have problems with the engine light. Every time I had it checked, it coded something different (po455, po171, po441) with these results: fuel cap light came on, high pressure fuel pump, evaporative emission control system , and lean bank 02 censor before the catalytic converter. It became hard to crank, and once shook when it did crank. The steering wheel module and comfort control module were replaced in 2008 under warranty after I took Volkswagen to small claims court. I took the car to a dealership in atlanta (there isn't one close to where I live) and they completed the following repairs: code po444, the evaporative emission system purge control valve circuit; code po193, fuel measuring system 2 abnk 1; and p2187 system too lean at idle. Total= $884. 84 ($619. 95 labor; $204. 31 parts; $43. 25 waste disposal charge; and $17. 33 tax). At no charge, they checked the passenger headlight which I had to replace @ twice a year and inspected high pressure pump, gff guided functions and a courtesy visual service inspection. This issue happened on 02/03/12.

car   Emission Control problem of Volkswagen Jetta

The car involved is a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Volkswagen Jetta is 0000099952_. My 2009 vw Jetta tdi had the engine light come on. The dealer said it was an 048 code for exhaust flap failure. This is a key part of the emission control. They told me it would cost $655 to replace. Researching the internet, this is a growing problem with the Jetta. Pages and pages on the internet complained about the problem. Some dealers are replacing it under the federally mandated 80,000 emissions warranty. Others are not. It explicitly is covered in California and new york, where I purchased my car. I also discovered on the internet that this part is cleanable, which is much less cost than replacing. I understand this is under investigation by your organization. This early failure should be covered by the warranty but is not being implemented. This issue happened on Friday, February 3, 2012.

car   Emission Control problem of Volvo XC70

The vehicle involved is a 2001 Volvo Xc70. Faulty electronic throttle module. I have only 61000 miles on my car and they had to replace this. On most cars this part has lifetime warranty or at least 70,000 miles. I was driving 70mph when my car started suddenly shaking, cruise control stopped working and I had to stop. Manual did not have anything about "performace reduced" error and I called the dealership. They told me that it's throittle and it needs to be replaced. $1200 later dealership is saying that this is not covered by warranty and they would not give me any breaks. I think this wrong for Volvo not to recognize tha there is a problem, extend the warranty, and recall all the bad parts. This issue happened on Thursday, Jun. 2, 2005.

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is YV1SZ58D71_. Hello, the etm (electronic throttle module) in our 2001 Volvo Xc70 failed on my wife in the middle of heavy traffic on colorado highway 83. She was in the middle lane of three and was traveling about 50 mph. The engine died completely and she had a hard time making it through traffic to the side of the road. She had to let traffic pass before doing so. She had to sit on the shoulder for about 15 minutes before the car would start again. I discussed the heavy failure rate of Volvo etms with mcdonald Volvo of denver, CO and told them Volvo was recalling this part in sweden and that at least one class action suit was filed. They said that there was no recall nor would they perform a goodwill replacement. We had to replace it at a cost of $1,090. 45. The mileage on our Volvo was 67,487. Do you have any more information regarding the safety issues and the unusually high failure rate of Volvo etms? my wife and I are concerned about our safety in our Volvo. Rurik lubinski.
