car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Chevrolet Impala

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) is 2G1WB5EK1A_. I had purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Impala in July, 2010. The first attempt at repair of the front end vibration was on 10/22/2010. The dealership did not recognize the vibration. The vehicle tires were rotated on 01/26/11 in an attempt to stop the vibration in the front end. The vehicle was taken in on 03/18/11 for front end noise (thump) while turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 07/07/11 for the thumping noise in the front end while turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 07/28/11 for a front end thumping noise when turning the wheels. The vehicle was taken in on 08/16/11 for a front end thumping noise and the dealership notices the tires were wearing slightly cupped on the inside edge. The vehicle was taken in on 09/08/11 for a whining noise from tne engine bay and power steering fluid was flushed. The vehicle was taken in on 04/09/12 for front end thumping noise, wheel bearing, transmission surge, and whine noise from radio. The vehicle was taken in on 06/27/12 for rough idle, tire replacement, transmission. The vehicle was taken in on 07/27/12 for rough idle, transmission surge, thump noise in front end and whine noise in radio. The vehicle was taken in on 10/05/12 for transmission surge, rough idle, thump noise in front end, and whine noise in radio. The outcome at this point is the dealership tried to reprogram the vehicle, gm approved replacement of all four tires, a replacement of the power steering pump, wheel bearing on driver front side. The dealerships have done two throttle body cleanings. The dealership has stated they will replace the rotors but gm would not approve replacement only turning on the rotors. This case has been opend with the better business bureau whom advised me to contact NHTSA. Gm refuses to replace parts because their computer system cannot tell them what is wrong with the vehicle. Gm has recalled the police vehicles for front end suspension and has a lawsuit pending in michigan for personal vehicl. The failure date was Friday, Oct. 22, 2010.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Chrysler Pacifica

The vehicle is a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. In June of 2010 my wives 2005 Chrysler Pacifica with about 63000 miles began to make funny noises from the front end it was taken to her uncle who is a mechanic. Upon inspection he noticed that the engine cradle had several large holes rusted through the cradle, one was so large that it was 6" x 3" he stated that this is not normal for a part to rust like this and should take it to the dealer where we bought it so the following day we took to roberts Chrysler and told that this is not a safety issue and they would replace the craddle for $3500 and when I asked about other Pacificas with the same issue is was told that this part is only covered in high salt areas of the us . I live in connecticut. So I contacted Chrysler and gave them the VIN number and was told that my car was not covered by any warranty. I had then searched online again found many many Pacificas with the same issue and several Pacificas that had there registrations pulled because the state inspections would not allow these Pacificas on the roads because the engines will fall out if this is not a safety issue then what is ? since then the car has had to have the entire front end replaced including ball joint both sides upper and lower all tie rods. In may 2013 my wife called me and told me that she had broken down on the highway doing about 65mph and was stuck in the travel lane and lost the steering and she could not turn the wheel the CT state police arrived and the could see the that she had to really fight to turn the wheel I any direction. We called aaa and was able to get the car off to the shoulder. This engine funny noise problem happened on Wednesday, Jun. 30, 2010.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Dodge Journey

The car involved is a 2012 Dodge Journey. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 3C4PDDBG7C_. While approaching a stop light vehicle stutters like the transmission is slipping. While waiting at light the vehicle engine died. This continued for several times intermittently. No warning lights no warning. Except transmission stutter. Called dealer about issue, they told us if they can't reproduce issue nothing they can do to fix. So I called Chrysler customer service. They asked us what we wanted them to do? I told them I wanted this car fixed. So they recommend of course bring it to dealer. And we decide to bring back to dealer. In the time before bringing into dealer vehicle has died over a dozen times. In traffic main highway. And no matter if it was a warm engine. Cold engine. Just dies whenever it wants. Also before we got this into shop. Stereo started changing channels on its own. You can change back to station. And few minutes later you would have static. This was not the only issues we had with this vehicle either. The frontend had a loud bang thump sound. Since it was new, also in shop 4 times for this issue. Finally they replaced struts, and the noise came back several weeks later. The stalling in traffic was my last straw. I sent it to shop, and traded this vehicle for another manufactures vehicle. I feel I was sold a problem and felt like Chrysler expected me to just tolerate these issues. Way too many issues for brand new vehicle. Also the amount of money we paid to purchase vehicle. Just feel safety issues need to be addressed. This engine funny noise problem happened on Tuesday, October 15, 2013.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Dodge Journey

Since we purchased our Dodge Journey it's been nothing but problems we own a 2010 Journey. We've had to replace brakes and rotors, steering makes a very loud noise when turning almost sounds like electricity and my vehicle is not the only one I witness the same problem with another persons car same Dodge Journey we always get our car the necessary oil changes and my engine makes a very funny noise even our mechanic was worried he told us that our car is still new that my engine has to be leaking because everytime we get our routine oil changes it seems like the car is low on oil. Also when I start driving away it loses speed and make a very ugly sound. This is by far the worst investment ever do not throw your money away on anything Dodge or Chrysler garbage expensive garbage then when you call them up they say they can't do anything about it. I think the government should be more strict on these kind of things this is our money here we pay taxes on these car more should be done to protect the consumer. This issue happened on Jan. 3, 2013.

The car is a 1999 Ford Expedition. The VIN of the problem Expedition is 1FMPU18LXX_. Pulling out of a convenience store we heard a funny sound and made it to a parking lot of a restaurant. Had to call the insurance company to be towed home. Found out it was spark plug that had blown out. It stripped the threads and is now going to cost a lot to get it fixed, not to mention the towing. car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Ford Escape

The car involved is a 2010 Ford Escape. Right after the warranty went out the vehicle starting slamming from 1st into 2nd upon acceleration. The idle is very rough and quite loud, the engine makes a funny noise and I take extremely good care of my vehicle, getting all of the scheduled oil changes on time, replacing the air filter, etc. I also explained to them that the vehicle wasn't idling properly and that the engine used to be quiet. The windshield is extremely thin as well, a small pebble hit my windshield causing a 8 inch crack in a matter of minutes to where it was beyond getting it fixed. Then liftgate started giving me problems. When you press the button, it would make the sound, but sometimes open, then on may 17, 2013 it just quit working all together. On may 18, 2013, I took it to reynolds Ford for a scheduled oil change right before a trip to mexico and upon telling them about it, they wanted $250 just to look at it before parts and labor. Now, the rear blinker doesn't work and you can't replace it due to the fact that you can't get the liftgate to open in order to remove the rear taillight assembly. So, when you are trying to make a left turn, vehicles behind you don't know you are turning and almost hit you (safety hazard). You also can't change a flat tire since you can get to the jack, which is in the rear compartment accessed through the liftgate. This is a serious problem as there is no manual release for the hatch to get it open period, once the latch doesn't work, it just doesn't work. It was Wednesday, November 7, 2012 when this engine funny noise issue happened.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of GMC Terrain

The car was a 2011 GMC Terrain. The VIN of the problem Terrain is 1G6DL5EVXA_. Our vehicle has experienced the rough idle and hard/stalled shifting since we bought it in 2011. It has been reviewed by the dealership and we were told a recent recall would fix the issue. It did not and these issues have continued. Recently, this issue happened again, followed by the check engine light turning on, followed by (a few hours later) the engine going into "reduced engine mode" and the entire vehicle shaking uncontrollably with thumping noises coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was stopped and restarted and within a few miles, this same issue happened again, which was very difficult to handle and very unsafe for travel in the city. We had to get a tow to the dealership and the service department at the dealership we bought this from says the throttle positions sensor is defective and needs replaced as well as there is a misfire in the injectors due to carbon buildup in the fuel line. None of these repairs are covered under the power train warranty, and this vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it currently. Upon research of these part, symptoms of this part going out are stalled shifting or hard shifting, as well as rough idling. Please research this case as I feel this is a more universal problem that has yet to be addressed properly. This problem occurred on 12/11/2013.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of GMC Sierra

The car involved is a 2002 GMC Sierra. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 2GTEK19V12_. On cold starts the engine produces loud rapping sound as if running on no oil. GMC has been notified, but it is deemed a normal operating sound, and will not shorten the engine life. They never made any attempt to fix problem, just offered an extended warranty on certain parts. It really makes me wonder how they know what parts to cover on the extended warranty if there is nothing wrong with the engine? dt.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Acura TL

The vehicle having this issue was a 2007 Acura Tl. VIN of the vehicle was 19UUA66267_. Vehicle was parked in driveway; had not been driven for 2 hours. Heard a pounding, hammering noise from inside my house and when I entered the driveway the vehicle's engine was running, although it was a very rough idle. There was a smell of something burning coming from underneath the hood. I inserted the key into the ignition to turn off the engine but since the ignition was not in the on, or run, position, to begin with, the key had no effect on the engine (that is, I could neither turn the engine off nor on, using the key), and the vehicle continued to roughly run. I then called the fire department but the vehicle had stopped running when they arrived. However, the fan was running and they thought that was natural after the engine had shut off. I told them that this vehicle had never had the fan run after the ignition was turned off, that it did not have a remote starter (they asked), and that it had really started by itself. They said the smell was a result of an electrical fire in the engine and they disconnected the battery so that the problem did not recur. There were no visible flames and the vehicle has not yet been examined for damage as the incident occured just a few hours ago. I am the originial owner of the vehicle (6 years). This issue happened on Tuesday, Jul. 9, 2013.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Acura TL

On Monday February 4, 2007 I was driving my 2003 Acura Tl type s and came to a stop and heard a weird noise coming from under the hood. Once traffic began to proceed the car simply would not move from first gear. I manage to pull over and let it sit for about 1-2 min. And it went into gear although sluggish. Once on the road again I proceeded about 3 miles when the car would not engage in any gear at all. I was right in front if the Honda store when the second failure happened. I had the diagnostic done and come to find out that I am in need of a new transmission and motor mount due to over heating (from the service tech). My car was towed to the local Acura dealership that notified me that I did infact need a new transmission and motor mount at a cost of approx. $3500. 00. This I now find is a huge problem for Acura with this model year and the automatic transmissions. I would like for Acura to correct the problem and if needed recall all the cars as it poses for a serious safety issue. It was Feb. 4, 2008 when this engine funny noise issue occurred.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Honda Accord

The car is a 2006 Honda Accord. While having the vehicle in for a power steering hose recall the dealer found two broken motor mounts. My Honda Accord lx has been making a thumping noise on acceleration. Its possible that leaking power steering fluid has caused the detereration of the rubber in the mounts. The dealer service rep says there are 3 motor mounts on this engine. The vehicle has not been driven hard since new. With 2 of 3 mounts broken at 66, 800 miles is a matter for concern. The 3d mount breaking would cause the engine to twist and possibly start a fire or transmission and drive axels to lock up causing a crash. Other Honda Accord owners have complained about broken motor mounts on-line. It was April 18, 2014 when this engine funny noise issue occurred.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Honda Civic

The car was a 2006 Honda Civic. I was driving 40 mph and noticed a weird sound coming out of engine and then smoke for the exhaust without and warning light on dash,I pull over and check there was no coolant, call the tow guy and tow the vehicle to dealer ship where the diagnose it as blown head gasket and repair bill of 1186,00 but next day called me and gave me the news that it is a crack in head and the estimate would be more than 4000. 00. Contact Honda America and they said we are only responsible for crack in block as it is on recall but not crack in a head. I am a middle class man and cannot afford this sort of expense and neither Honda company not northwest Honda dealership standing behind their products and estimates and if don't authorize this repair still I owe the dealership $ 460 to tear down the vehicle. This engine funny noise problem happened on Wednesday, January 1, 2014.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Jeep Patriot

While driving my 2012 Jeep Patriot sport 4x4 down the autobahn at around 120km(74 mph) my Jeep started making a deep whirling/humming sound. While accelerating it is a low deep sounding whirling/humming sound, while decelerating the whirling/humming sound becomes louder deep sounding whirling/humming. I tried calling the Jeep dealership here in germany but was basically told they could not be of any help do to my Jeep being american spec. Also, I find it absurd that my Jeep has recalls and I was never informed and of course I've been told that I cannot get them fixed over here. It was May. 4, 2014 when this engine funny noise issue occurred.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Jeep Liberty

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 1J4GL58K12_. This is my wife's 2002 Jeep Liberty. We maintain it regularly, oil change every 3000 . Didn't have any problems whatsoever until bam ! she loved her Jeep dearly. Wouldn't had taken anything for it. Going to church, 6 miles from the house. When she got there she stated " my Jeep is making a funny noise". After church service she cranked it for me. I told her to shut it down. Checked oil, " where did it go " . Had to put in 3 quarts just to get it home. Sounds like a thrashing machine. Bad knock. I could except it if the Jeep had been roughed or fast driven but the Jeep is only driven to her work and church where the speed limit is 55 mph tops. I'm retired and she's ready to and we can't afford to put a lot of money into a new engine. Heard Jeep had a lot of problems with this engine. Especially the 2002-2003 model. Does anyone know if anything can be done about this. This engine funny noise problem happened on Dec. 22, 2013.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Kia Motor Sorento

The vehicle is a 2012 Kia Motor Sorento. I am beyond disappointed in my 2012 kia Sorento. It all started when my Sorento began to vibrate when traveling at interstate speed, then it just led to more complex problems. I can be driving down the interstate at normal interstate speed of 70 or going 50 and it will go crazy making unusual sounds and all the lights start going crazy. Then the whole vehicle shuts off. This is very concerning since I have a 2 year old and 1 year old in my back seat and it always seems to happen when I am in a high traffic area. I purchased the Sorento because it is suppose to be considered a family vehicle. That's isn't it. I can be traveling in town or where ever and when at a yield entrance way I can pull into the main road and what do you know. The Sorento stalls out. It doesn't want to increase speed. This same thing also happens while I am speeding up as well. It gets up to 5rpm before changing gears. I can't let off or I will get rear ended. My Sorento also has a horrible pull to the right. I have put new tires, had numerous alignments and all. Nothing helps it. It has never been in any accident whatsoever, but if these problems keep up there seems to be one in the near future. I have also took it to several delearships to get the other issues checked out but I get the same response. "they never can figure anything out" I have got several other people to drive it as well just to be sure it wasn't the way I drove. I am to the point where I am terrified to drive it and especially allow my children to ride in it. I'm sure all of us with the similar issues are not imaging things. I am so frustrated and to the point I want to consider a lawsuit because I really don't want a fatal wreck resulted from these malfunctions to finally make someone do something about these issues. Not my family, your family, or anyone elses. Please help us! our lives and our children's lives are at risk!. It was Wed., Jan. 16, 2013 when this engine funny noise issue happened.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Kia Motor Rondo

The vehicle is a 2008 Kia Motor Rondo. I was at a red light and the car was started, the vehicle began to jerk violently with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. I did mention this issue when I had the next oil change and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure to my knowledge. No offer or any assistance was referred by the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the mileage at the time was about 70,000. This incident has occurred several times, but I am more concerned about the sputtering noise and a hesitation while starting vehicle after refueling. This could also put you in danger of being struck from oncoming traffic. These occurrences are worse, when the air conditioning is on. These occurrences of revving idle speed, unexpectedly, may occur only once in two months or they may occur two or three times in one week. The failure date was Sep. 1, 2010.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Mazda RX8

The car was a 2004 Mazda RX-8. On 2/9/12 my 2004 Mazda RX-8 was brought in for engine replacement as part of a recall. Since the engine replacement the clutch is engaging at different places or sticking to the floor. On 3/30/12 the car was taken back to dick edwards manhattan for ". . . When clutch is engaged there is a funny noise coming from transmission & there is a vibration. " it was misdiagnosed and not fixed. The car was taken back to the dealership on 6/26/12 because "when using clutch that the first half of the pedal is empty and the second half engages but if you try to shift in the middle it will get stuck and not come out. " it was misdiagnosed & not fixed. On 10/26/12 it was taken to overland park Mazda & it was found that "clutch was sticking to the ground and traced to the master and slave cylinder. . . " it was misdiagnosed & not fixed. On 11/9/12 the car was brought to overland park Mazda to "bleed clutch and adjust free play from clutch pedal push rod to make clutch pedal more responsive. " the problem was still not fixed. In 8/13 I bought the car in kansas city, mo. Since then I had the clutch diagnosed at rick's performance in California who found "play in the engine crankshaft - the flywheel is moving back and forth over 1/2 inch" & concluded that the engine replaced in the recall on 2/9/12 at dick edwards manhattan was defective and that a part had been left out of the engine during assembly. I took the car to ken harvey's dublin Mazda in dublin, CA and they confirmed the diagnosis by rick's performance & recommended Mazda replace the engine as it shows signs of internal damage. However, Mazda refused to replace the engine as it is outside of the 1 year/12,000 mile warranty even though it had been brought in for service 4 times within the warranty but was never fixed. Also, only 9k miles have been put on the car in that time frame. This engine funny noise problem happened on February 9, 2012.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Nissan Altima

The car involved was a 2004 Nissan Altima. On my way home I was going about 25mph, the car started losing power and started to stall. I pulled over and took about 15 minutes and started it back up and it started fine. I made it to napa and one of the guys took a look at it and said it was the accelerator pedal because obviously it wasn't moving. So I got that and had my father put that part on and put it into drive and it still did nothing. I park it back in the driveway as I normally would with the little power that it did have, and the transmission just made a loud thump. My father tells me to start it up and I started it up again as I normally would and the transmission starts whining. This just happened out of nowhere, there were no signs of anything about to happen. No lights were on, no weird noises, and the power was doing completely fine. It was May. 9, 2014 when this engine funny noise issue happened.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Toyota Highlander

The car is a 2002 Toyota Highlander. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is JTEHF21A02_. Last Saturday 4/13/13 the check engine light came on and the car started shaking and making a weird noise. I haven't driven it since then when I parked it in the driveway. I didn't even trust it to park it in the garage because it smelled hot. White smoke and the smell of exhaust has been coming out of the exhaust. Today was the soonest I could get it looked at (by a trusted local repair shop) and I was just told it's an internal engine problem. I see this has been a problem with this engine and because of a class action suit Toyota has had to replace the engine in cars 8 years and newer, I don't qualify. I was never notified by Toyota of this problem. . . . And I am the original owner. I have replaced 3 oxygen sensors and the air conditioning compressor. It was Saturday, Apr. 13, 2013 when this engine funny noise issue occurred.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Volkswagen Jetta

The vehicle involved was a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. Once again I had to waste more school time and gas money, after my last 20k visit on my car the noise was driving me more and more insane, I tried ignoring the issue and turning the music up, but the noise had started to progressively getting to the point where I could here it even with music on, than on top of that I started to hear new and unusual noise that had never occurred before, I started to hear sporadic high pitch noises from the center console when I was at high rpm's or whenever hitting on the gas, it would start off low pitch than high pitch, than would rattle, the noise sounded like it was coming from the engine. I had shown the same technician a video recording of it, and he was baffled he also even heard the noise himself. I also notified them that when driving at high speeds it would sound like a door was open, even my guest I have had in it complained to me that it sounds like the doors are open. The service rep tried treating me like a fool and rolled my back window down a little than brought me outside and said this is why you are hearing the wind noise, and I had told her I was watching you the entire time you had rolled the window down, and than she tried to tell me she didn't even though I watched her do it, this place treated me like I was crazy, and disrespected me in-front me , and I also noted that some rubber seals were coming off the door edges, which should not be happening, making me feel like this car wasn't well put together and could run into possible future issues. Once again vw told me that there is nothing wrong with my car you are just hearing stuff, and kicked me out the door with no explanation at all. This engine funny noise problem happened on Sep. 12, 2013.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Volkswagen Jetta

The vehicle involved was a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. I went on a road trip prior to this visit, and had a scary issue with my car where it hesitated several times while driving, it was hesitating like it was out of gas but I just filled it up with of course the recommended gas which is diesel. After a couple of minutes it stopped, which I found to be unusual cause its to new to be doing this. Then I started to hear and notice that unusual noise coming from the front driver side of my car again but a little louder than before, it was annoying me so bad. I was hearing a constant rumbling, grinding noise while driving, the rougher the road the louder the noise, when I hit a bump the noise went with the bump, the smoother the road it was less loud but still there. I took it to vw and they had told me they scanned it and found no faults with the hesitation issue, than I took a ride with a technician who did hear the noise I was hearing, the technician even noted it on my papers. We then took out a similar vehicle but I could not hear the same noise, so the technician advised me to take it back again if it gets worse. I had told the technician it is not normal, no new car should be making these noises. Not to mention the person who had sold the car to me never thanked me for the purchase as well as told me to never talk to him again, when all I was trying to do was to get some help from him, but he had treated me like garbage and made me fend for my own. On this visit they had supposedly done a multipoint inspection on my vehicle, and once again stated everything to be normal, nothing stating about my tires. It was April 18, 2014 when this engine funny noise issue happened.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Volvo XC90

The vehicle involved was a 2004 Volvo Xc90. Vehicle identification number (VIN): YV1CY59H94_. At highway speeds, the windshield wipers randomly start, followed immediately by a loud thump sound from the engine, also immediately followed by all the electrical items on the instrument panel going dark, all guages go to zero, speedometer doesn't work, radio goes dark and stops working along, a/c stops working, error message appear for the abs and srs. There is also an slight loss of engine power. Problem has occcured 4 times over the last year. Dealer could not replicate the problem on the first visit which is not surprising since the problem is completely random. On a more recent visit dealer says car needs a instrument panel module replacement at a cost of $1,500. According to my online research, this complaint is by far the most prevelent problem with this year and model by maybe a 20 to 1 margin. It was Monday, July 9, 2012 when this engine funny noise issue happened.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Volvo XC90

The vehicle is a 2004 Volvo Xc90. I was driving on the freeway and there was a slight thumping noise and the electrical systems failed and shutdown in a second. The power was lost and the vehicle came to a sudden halt. Luckily I was on the right side of the road and I had pulled over to the side of the road. It was very scary, as I was on the freeway in the night and I could have very well been in an accident causing damage to my life and others. The electrical failure caused the car to loose complete control of the speed and the car came to an immediate halt. There was a message of break failure for a second before the car shut down completely. Request you to please look into this concern as it is a potential safety hazard. I have researched over the internet and I read that most of the owners of 2004/2005 Xc90 are facing similar issues, which is very scary. Kindly help us and help save lives. Thanking you. The failure date was 10/01/11.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of Audi A4

The VIN of this A4 is WAUDF78E26_. In October 2006, purchased a new 2006 Audi A4 from carousel Audi in golden valley, mn. The car was well maintained and has less than 62,000 miles today. In late summer of 2013, I began noticing that the car jerked heavily when putting it into reverse from a parked position. The car has an automatic transmission and I then began noticing the car not accelerating properly and laboring when nearing 50 mph on the highway. The motor would rev up and make an unusual sound and it was too dangerous to drive on the highway. I brought the car to the Audi dealer and they advised me that the transmission and computer module were not communicating properly and that it needs a new module at a cost of about $3800. They refused to pay for any of the repairs. When I asked both them and Audi north America about a class action lawsuit regarding similar problems with 61,000 other Audi owners across the u. S. , they refused to discuss the matter. I believe that Audi has knowingly made and sold a defective vehicle that is dangerous and poses great risk to its owner and other drivers on the road. I believe that Audi should be forced to stand behind their product and recall vehicles with this well documented defect and pay for my repair as well as for other owners who have similar problems. This issue happened on Aug. 1, 2013.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of BMW 740

The vehicle having this issue was a 1996 BMW 740il. The VIN of this vehicle was WBAGJ8329T_. The gas tank started to make popping noises and thumping sounds. Then when I realized something is wrong when the gas gauge started reading 1/4 tank when it was empty, strangely when I was filling up with gas the cap was hard to remove and as soon as I removed the cap air was rushing in. I ran out of gas on the interstate without any warning managed to get the car on the shoulder. Later on the way to work I started smelling a strong gas odor I assumed it was the cars surrounding me. When I went on my lunch break my coworkers informed me that there was a large puddle of gas under my car, when I got back to work I started to investigate what happened and my tank was imploded and developed leaks around the seams. I find this a major concern since this is right next to a hot exhaust system and may cause a fire due to poor gas tank ventilation. I'm lucky that my car didn't catch on fire due to the amount of gas I lost and noticed leaking on the seams that are extremely close to the exhaust. This engine funny noise issue occurred Mar. 1, 2014.

car   Engine Funny Noise problem of BMW M3

The vehicle involved is a 2008 BMW M3. The engine in my BMW died at 74,598 miles, no warning lights and no weird noises. It died when I was driving the speed limit (65) on the highway doing nothing out of the ordinary, wheels locked up in traffic so I had to push in clutch. It was a very life threatening situation because a big rig almost crashed into my car. I coasted to the side of the highway to check it out: the engine was not overheating and there was no fluids on the ground. As I tried starting the car up again I could hear the fuel pump turning on and the starter motor clicking, but the engine wouldn't turn over. I got the car towed to the dealership and a few days later it was made known to me by the dealership that my engine was seized and that I would have to pay $19,000 for a new engine and $6,000 for the labor to install it. I made the dealership aware that I kept up with the maintenance, and that nothing was indicating to me that my engine was about to fail. I instructed the dealership to contact BMW north America (BMW headquarters for north America) for a "good will" replacement, but my request was denied. This problem is directly related to the rod bearing inside the engine, which gave out because there is no adequate lubrication to them, I heard of these rod bearings giving out on the s65 engine all over web forums, multiple people have had this happen to them. During my warranty period I did let them know that my car would go in limp mode (low power mode on engine, max speed about 40mph) and I was hearing ticking noises (dealership said this was normal) that were not present when the car was really new (the first 5000 miles I put on the car). The dealership and BMW north America dont care about these problems which were present during my entire ownership of the car (in warranty period) and they denied the free replacement because my car is now out of warranty. This engine funny noise issue occurred 06/23/13.
