I've had this automobile for several years now and without knowing the intake gaskets leak in the 3. 8 engines. I was unaware of this severe condition. I should of been told of this issue when I purchase the car from the dealer since this is an ongoing problem with many of the chevy Monte Carlos 3. 8 and I believe the 3. 4 also. It will cost me about $480 to repair which I do not have and should not be responsible for this Chevrolet ongoing issue. I had very scary moment one time it started running hot and smoke was coming off the engine as the fluid was seeping out of the gasket and dripping down the side of the engine which caused a small flame. This such a dangerous problem and I should not be liable for this dangerous defect in the engine. This engine head gasket leaking problem happened on Jun. 13, 2010.

An oil gasket leaks that drips oil on the alternator producing loss of all electrical power and a dead engine. My dealer, l------n Hyundai, did the repair work, only charging me for the depleted battery. Nor were tow charges reimbursed. They concluded that oil had leaked from the gasket, destroying the alternator. I regard this has a serious safety issue. If the problem recurs for me, or for others; serious injury or loss of life could result. I request that you issue a national recall and permanent fix for this problem. car   Engine Head Gasket Leaking problem of Mazda Tribute

The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Mazda Tribute is 4F2CZ96143_. Oil pan gasket is leaking. I called Mazda customer service, received a file #115785220. My 2003 Mazda Tribute (5 years old with 35,000 miles) is leaking oil from the oil pan gasket. My vehicle is no longer under warranty. Since I purchased my vehicle, Mazda has redesigned the oil pan with an embedded o ring in lieu of a gasket. The local Mazda service center (Mazda 112) does not replace the gasket; they fix the vehicle by selling and installing the redesigned oil pan for $440 + tax (medford, NY). You can buy a gasket for the original pan and do it yourself or maybe have a local mechanic do it (I don't know if it's worth it). Mazda 112 told me they called the regional Mazda representative and they would save me the price of the parts but the cost of repair will still be over $300. I believe this problem is due to a manufacturer defect and Mazda is not addressing the issue. " I have called Mazda twice and emailed them. The representatives are polite but could not tell me if the oil pan was redesigned because the original design was defective??? then why the redesign? on the internet I have viewed many complaints of late model Mazda Tribute owners with "oil pan leaks. ". It was November 1, 2007 when this engine head gasket leaking issue occurred.

car   Engine Head Gasket Leaking problem of Volkswagen Passat

The car involved is a 2003 Volkswagen Passat. My 2003 vw Passat 1. 8t has the well documented sludge issue that thousands of vw/Audi owners are experiencing. Initially I had to have the car towed b/c a gasket was leaking oil into the spark plugs, and my engine coil pack was bad. I paid $700 to repair and replace the parts. 80 miles after leaving the mechanic shop, the oil light and stop engine lights came on. Towed the car again; no oil pressure. Collected all of my maintenance records and took them to vw to get approval of the warranty issue before letting them "confirm" engine sludge ($500 diagnosis fee for dropping the oil pan). If the issue is engine sludge, the engine is a lost cause because the low oil pressure starved the engine head for oil. The vw dealership is waiting for my money before they'll diagnose the engine sludge- which you can see in the engine head with your eyes. Vwoa has issued an extended warranty, unlimited mileage, 8 years from sale date, to owners with all of their oil change/maintenance receipts. Yet, despite the "effort" by vw, they deny all the claims I've researched- saying everyone was irresponsible with their maintenance- no one took care of their engine. Loopholes left and right to blame the consumer, while we sit powerless to get our cars back on the road. Yet, this issue leaves me with no car. All of us "sludge" owners are left with cars dead on the side of the road, all with the same problem and vw turning their heads the other way. This engine head gasket leaking issue occurred Dec. 31, 2009.

Audi TSB 05-03, Nov. 2, 2005 covering 2000-2006 models a4, cabriolet, tt, a6, S4, allroad, a8, s8, and rs6 with engines 1. 8t, 2. 8 v6, 2. 7 v6t, and 4. 2 v8 states that if a customer complains and the area is wet with fluid residue or droplets that are not coming off, to clean the oil stained area and tell the customer that it could be the result of spillage when topping off or normal gasket "sweating" and is not indication of a malfunction. If found and no customer complaint, no action is to be taken. If found and only if a customer complains, then replace gaskets and leak test the engine. This is an unacceptable policy of hiding by lack of disclosure, the leak and unfairly shifting the cost of a manufacturing or design defect to the customer.
