car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Chevrolet Cruze

The car was a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. 1st the vehicle failed to shift into reverse. The torque converter had disassembled and transmission was replaced. One month later the engine began to smoke, the valve cover had melted and needed to be replaced gm charged me for this under warranty part. Then, I was making a left hand turn onto a residential street my vehicle began to smoke inside the vehicle. I shut down the car and looked under the hood oil was in the anti freeze fill tank, I called gm they sent a truck and took it to dealership. The result; gm told dealership to replace engine, called back and said don't replace try to fix it. They replaced the turbo charger, turbo cooler, and oil cooler, only to have me back 5-6 times with cooling problems, the vehicle still has cooling issues, and goes back for service every two weeks or so. The vehicle was brought back to service as there were still shifting problems. They found the torque converter disassembled and transmission had to be replaced again, and then again a few months later. The vehicle has a steering issue that has been brought to the their attention. The steering locks up periodically when traveling over 30mph, and has made me afraid I will be driving and lock up permanently. The brakes are an issue on the vehicle now and prior to recall for brake assist, it is still hard to stop the vehicle. And brakes have to be replaced every 3 months. There is definitely an electrical issue with this vehicle as the emergency flashers worked periodically then completely stopped working, as well as the running lights burning out within a month of replacement on the passenger side of the vehicle. The dealership feels its not a problem. This vehicle may shut off from electrical issues eventually. When using the air conditioner the dashboard fills with over a half inch of condensation and leaks out of the vents profusely. Valve cover had to be replaced again. It was Wednesday, February 29, 2012 when this engine oil leaking issue happened.

Well, I contacted Chrysler customer care and they cant help. . I had it repaired and absorbed the full cost myself. . Then as of this weekend 12/27/13 I had the same problem again. . . Called Chrysler and they won't help at all I'm reading about this being a pretty common problem with the 2. 4 engines isn't it time we hold out manufactures responsible??? to at least absorb some of the cost for parts failing way too soon in their expected life. . . If this would have happened on a long trip I might have been in much worse shape. . . Vehicle was 4 quarts low when I finally alerted there was another leak. The failure date was Dec. 5, 2013.

The vehicle involved was a 2008 Chrysler town and country. My 2008 town and country Chrysler which had 74,000 miles locked up on me while driving. It was determined that their was no oil in the vehicle. I have had my oil changed every 3000 miles and I didnt have any signs of an oil leak at all. There is no sign of an oil leak in my driveway. Where did the oil go? the check engine light on the dash never came on nor the oil light came on. I have been told that my engine is gone and will have to be replaced. I want some type of explaination as to why and how this could happen from Chrysler. I have never had anything like this happen and the sad thing is I'm still paying for this vehicle. I have had numerous issues with the vehicle before. You couldn't have never convinced me that chrsyler had defective/lemon vehicle till now. They claimed there was a plug on back of engine that was leaking. They had vehicle for 3 1/2 days, and claimed it was fixed. They had over 1 page of seals, gaskets, plug were replaced. Drove approximately 50 miles, and it started leaking exactly the same as before. Returned to dealer again, and was told by the service technician that it was normal to see it having a leak due to the silicone that was used on engine parts when it was built !!! I was advised to drive it for 1 week and bring it back again. At that point in time, I contacted gm and was told to get a second opinion at another dealership. I brought it to them on 11/15/13. It has been there now for 6 days. I was just told that they have 4 pages of new parts that have to be ordered to repair it. They (dealership) requested that gm replace the engine and was denied. car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Honda Accord

I have the 2008 Honda Accord with the 4cyl engine and drive approximately 8 miles per day. Within the last few months I have noticed significant oil loss in between oil changes. Approximately 3-4 quarts needs to be added in between oil changes. There is not a leak to be found and I am not blowing smoke out of the tailpipe. Upon additional research, I've found that mulitple other owners of the exact same make and model vehicle are having this same issue. I've taken the vehicle to a local shop to have it looked at, but still don't have a resolve. Honda just recently lost a class action suit regarding the v6 models, but still won't admit to the issue with the 4cyl model. I have had estimates anywhere from $500 on up to a complete engine overhaul, which is far more than I can afford. Honda needs to take responsibility for this and fix the problem. I've owned many other Honda's and this is the first I've ever seen do something like this. Please help! thank you. This engine oil leaking problem happened on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Infiniti G35

The vehicle involved was a 2004 Infiniti G35. I had a low oil light and decided to change the oil and spark plugs. When I removed the spark plug I found oil pooling in the spark plug tube and saw an obvious leak in the valve cover seal. The oil level had reached 1cm above the connector in the boot. This can potentially cause an engine fire while driving. The valve covers contain bad spark plug tube seals. This allows a significant amount of oil to pool in the spark plug tube. When the oil reaches the spark plug boot it can ignite and cause engine fires at high speed. This issue happened on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Infiniti G35

The vehicle was a 2007 Infiniti G35. The VIN of the problem G35 is JNKBV61F17_. Car would die after being started. Lag time in accleration. Upon inspection we were told the rear timing cover has a seal inside of it that is broken. The mechanics showed us 4 vehicles in their shop with the same issue. The seal inside this cover is so hard to reach the entire engine must be dropped in order to fix this. It is a $3k+ job. The mechanics advised that until Nissan fixes the quality of this seal it will blow again in 80k. The seal is creating oil leaks into my engine and will eventually lock up the transmission. We were advise there may be a service bulletin on this issue, and a 100,000k extention on the powertrain is in the works. We cannot confirm this yet, as we are waiting for Infiniti to respond. We have always kept up with the suggested maintenance on this vehicle with regular oil changes. We are extremly displeased with the fact that this is an issue that Infiniti is aware of but hasn't fixed yet. We can also confirm that the passenger seat (front) shows that I am not sitting in the car and the airbags turnoff. This fluctuates given the temp outside. We believe this may be an electrical issue. This engine oil leaking issue occurred May. 21, 2013.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Land Rover Range Rover

The car involved was a 2010 Land Rover Range Rover. VIN of the vehicle was SALMF1D4XA_. My 2010 Range Rover suddenly and without any warning stopped functioning on the highway. My dash board went dark and the engine turned off. We completely loss control of the car with a total systems failure. Two accidents were nearly avoided. My car was taken to reeves import motorcars for inspection, investigation and testing to find out what was the cause. Reeves had my car for about 6 days and stated the car was safe to drive and they could not find any reason for the sudden dash board and engine failure. Additionally, on many occasions reeves confirmed that they checked key engine fluid levels including oil and found that the oil level was satisfactory. Reeves provided a Land Rover multi-point inspection report which directly lists the oil fluid level as "ok. " five days after reeves gave us back our car in June, the Range Rover shut down again on a major highway. We towed it to another Land Rover dealership and repair shop two hours away from and this dealership confirmed that my Range Rover only had 3. 5 qts instead of the required 8. 1 qts. This new Land Rover repair shop also confirmed that there were no signs of any oil leaks. We were told the low oil level locked the engine up and now my car needs a new engine. My safety concern is whether an electrical malfunction, including faulty oil warning lights or sensors, caused multiple factory trained technicians to miss the fact that there was a dangerously low oil level. Has this type of engine failure presented in any other Land Rovers or Range Rovers across the country. I am very concerned the electrical and/or engine problem will continue to be hazard on the highway. It was Thursday, Jun. 13, 2013 when this engine oil leaking issue happened.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Mercedes Benz GL450

The vehicle involved is a 2008 Mercedes Benz Gl450. I purchased a vehicle from auto world USA in bedford, ohio. I have experienced issued with the car from the day I took the car to try and get inspected in the state of pennsylvania. I was told that the brakes and tires were good to pass inspection; however when I took the car to get inspected I had to replace all 4 tires, brakes and rotors. I took the car to Mercedes Benz to get looked at due to the burning smell that keeps coming through the vents when the heat is on. I was told the my oil seperator was leaking' that my air springs are leaking and that my rear air suspensions were bad. When I purchased the car I was offered a warranty that I was told would cover those types of repairs. Well it turns out the suspension is not covered under the warranty and I cannot get the oil seperator fixed because there is a deductible (that I was not made aware of. ) I have to take my car to auto world USA in ohio to get repairs done and I live in pittsburgh, PA. I was told by the warranty company that the dealership could call and they would waive the deductible. Terry dobbins at auto world, was very rude and said that she would not call the warranty after she kept expressing she was going home she just happened to answer my call. What type of company treats a customer like that? I was given falsified information on many levels and was treat like I committed a crime. Auto world USA should be investigated their sales practices are fraudulent. They have put the life of me and my children in jeopardy by selling me a car that had safety issues and it is their due dilligence to make sure thast the car did not have safety issues before it was sold to a consumer with an "as-is" warranty or not. Me and my kids could be seriously injured becuse I was sold a car with a safety hazard. Somebody else may not be fortunate enough to find out what's wrong with their car before it's to late. car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Mercury Mariner

The car was a 2008 Mercury Mariner. Driving the truck through a drive thru at a mcdonalds with my 2 year old son in backseat and the power steering stopped working as proceeding thru drive thru, almost hitting the building having no control over truck. Very dangerous problem with this make and model/this is a safety hazard and someone will end up as a casualty if this problem with steering not recalled by Ford. I am a 280 guy and could barely steer the truck until I shut it of and restarted it. Also oil leak on engine for most of these v6 Mariners and escapes is above oil pan by harmonic balancer,Ford refuses to admit they did a horrible job putting together the bottom end of these engines. Overall Ford needs to reconsider what should be a recall on their vehicles before someone gets seriously injured or killed. I am a ase certified mechanic and have never encountered such problems with a vehicle. It was Tuesday, March 25, 2014 when this engine oil leaking issue happened.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Mercury Tracer

The car is a 1997 Mercury Tracer. I own a 1997 mecury Tracer, that has been in Ford, Lincoln, Mercury authorized dealership for almost 3 weeks in the service department. The first time I brought my vehicle in was when my " engine check light came on. This was on 1/18/2000, the service department informed that my #3 was misfiring and that they need to repplace my sparkplugs and give the car a tune-up. On 1/27/200, my engine check light light came back on. I took it back to the dealship and they found an oil leak and told me the computer read out was the same as before "#3 was misfiring". Well that night after I got the car back, the "service engine soon" light came back on. So the next day I called tthe dealership oce again and I brought the car back to them and they said that it was the same code and that they would check into it. They gave me my car back and informed me that yes the engine check light would probably come back on again and that to inform them if the car started to run rough. Well the next week, I informed the dealership that the car was actually starting to stall when I was driving it and they made me an appointment for the following Tuesday 2/7/2000 to bring the car in. Well, the car has been there ever since. First I was told that it was the valve guide that needed to be replaced and that my extented warranty company would pay a portion of the cost including only seven days on a rental car. Then on 2/22/2000 I was informed by the dealership that Ford no longer makes the valve guides for the 1997 Mercury Tracers and it is no longer available on the secondary market. I have already paid out $340. 00 to have the car fixed, which has not been fixed, plus no what ever the costs are going to be now. Plus I have to pay for the rental car, because the extended warranty company will only pay for 7 days. I am extremely frustrated and think that for a 3 year old car to have this type of problem is definitely a manufactures problem, but when talking with for. car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Mitsubishi Eclipse

The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse. My 2002 Eclipse started to sound very loud. Itook it back to the dealer. They blew me off . They never checked the car in the shop but they said the car was ok. One week later the engine ceased due to lack of oil. They refused to fix the car because of "customer negligence". They state that as a result of thier investigation the did not leak or burn the 3 quarts of "missing oil". Threfore where could it be. This obviosly the oil was never there . car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of SAAB 95

The vehicle involved is a 2003 SAAB 9-5. My car was built in 2002 as well as others reported, I purchased it used 3 years ago with 64k miles. My direct ignition control in 2003 9-5 linear sedan 2. 3t ceased. Upon research, my dic is the original part 9197559 tk3. 6 2000-2002 are recalled and 'some' 2003 VIN's. With the over abundance of dic failures with the exact same part number, these need to be recalled as a whole. Upon removal of the dic, the engine is leaking at the seams of the head from where the bolts are located, inside the dic and engine section is perfectly clean. Bolts in the head of the engine loose, 1 was lifted out enough to just remove straight out. Car blows blueish smoke when it was starting, switches are defective (gm known issue), oil / engine / head known issues, suspension known issues (among other serious SAAB failures). I have spent thousands of dollars on this vehicle since purchase. The known recalls must be expanded to include the parts, not just 'year' or 'specific VIN'. This was supposed to be a safe, reliable car but instead is causing serious financial issues. Please help the owners all over the world, we should not have to pay for all of this. . We already paid for their 'bailout'! sincerely~ can not take any more repairs!!!. The failure date was Wednesday, October 26, 2011.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of SAAB 95

The car was a 1999 SAAB 9-5. 1999 SAAB 9-5 4-cylinder sedan threw rod at 53,000 on busy I-85 in atlanta with no previous warning whatsoever (no oil leaks on garage floor, no engine or oil pressure warning lights, strange noises, nothing). Was able to get to shoulder without incident. Car had been maintained regularly. Contacted SAAB asking for repair under extended 8-year warranty issued in 2005 due to problems with this engine related to oil sludge. Sent all requested records because local dealership said they didn't have on file. Request was denied. Sent follow-up letter to SAAB g. M. Requesting repair. Denied with no explanation. Phoned on 3/1/07 requesting a written explanation be emailed. Still have not received although was told it was being sent immediately. Was told by person I spoke with that the car was outside the 8 yr. Extended warranty. SAAB will do nothing except offer a customer loyalty discount toward a new vehicle. Mine is practically new at 53,000 miles. Low mileage due to short trips of 3 miles each way to work. This driving condition was one specifically listed as contributing to sludge. I don't want or expect a new car. I just want mine repaired. It was February 4, 2007 when this engine oil leaking issue occurred.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Saturn SW2

The vehicle involved is a 1996 Saturn Sw2. Small leaks are one thing;these major leaks are another. The failure date was Jan. 15, 2009.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Toyota Camry

The vehicle involved was a 2007 Toyota Camry. The VIN of the car is 4TBE46K47U_. I purchased my car in 2007 as a mark down because it had been returned by a business but the oil leak problem was not fixed before I bought it nor was I told of the problem. Soon after I bought it I noticed that the oil was low but I couldn't find where the oil was leaking from. There was no black smoke so I took it to the dealer. Over and over again I took the car in and complained about the missing oil. One of the things they told me was that they never put the required amount in but always put in from one half to a full quart low. I never missed scheduled maintenance and each time I told them about the oil problem but they never fixed it. Instead they always offered me some excuse. The warranty is now expired but the problem has been continuous from the beginning of the warranty. I believe the car should be covered under the lemon law. I was taken advantage of because I am a woman. I need you help because I am at wits end and I don't think I should have to be worried all the time and always have to carry spare oil in my trunk. The failure date was Apr. 27, 2007.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Volkswagen Tiguan

The vehicle involved is a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan. The engines rear main oil seal started leaking. Brought it to Volkswagen dealer where the car was bought and stated that there was thought to be an oil leak and while the oil change was done if they could take a look it would be greatly appreciated. Now at 65000 miles and 5000 over the factory warranty they finally acknowledge the problem and are wanting over $1500 to fix it. The whole underside of the car is soaked in oil and my once nice driveway looks like a truck stop. Volkswagen refuses to work with us. I find it absolutely ridiculous that such a new car should have such an expensive issue with so little miles. My work truck has 300k miles and has yet to drip even a drop of oil in my driveway. . . And its over 10 years old. The biggest kicker is the dealers lack to acknowledge the problem till well after the warranty was passed. This issue happened on Feb. 5, 2014.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Volvo XC90

The VIN of the problem Xc90 is YV1CZ91H94_. Transmission failure twice and fuel pump replaced and still leaking in our Volvo Xc90 2004 t6 truck. Volvo replaced the transmission twice, but we still had repair costs both times. Fuel pump replaced and still leaking causing large amounts of gas fumes in vehicle. Taking into Volvo to fix fuel pump again today that is covered under the recall but just got it back from 2nd transmission repair where I had to pay for the internal engine leaks that could not be detected that in turn contaminated the 2nd transmission. I do not believe I should have paid $1600 in repairs when it has been serviced and cannot detect these internal oil leaks from the engine. This make and model year has been costly and dangerous. Truck has stopped in the middle of left turn, almost resulting in head on collision. This truck seems to fall under lemon law. We have had problems with this truck since 2007. It has had 2 transmission replacements and now 2 fuel pumps, both Volvo pumps. I should incur zero costs other than oil changes and general maintenance. These are major equipment failures in this Volvo Xc90 t6 2004 and the entire vehicle should be recalled. I will be submitting my repair costs to Volvo north America. Thank you for your review of this in advance. This problem occurred on Jul. 23, 2007.

car   Engine Oil Leaking problem of Audi S4

The vehicle involved was a 2000 Audi S4. I just did an oil change myself on the car and I noticed. (before the change) that the whole bottom of the engine was covered by oil. So that is there was an oil leak. I think is it from the head cylinder gasket, this should not be happening in this early stage of the car since my last inspection was only 8000 miles ago. I just hope it's not worse since the car has lost some power. The total cost was an insane $1500 because the head cylinder and bottom was send to be resurfaced, if you need it or not. Dt. This issue happened on Sunday, November 10, 2002.
