car   Engine Overheat problem of Chrysler Sebring

The VIN of this vehicle is 1C3EL55R75_. My wife and I had purchased an 05 Chrysler Sebring touring convertible from the huntington dealership with 22,800 mile on the clock. Several weeks after our purchase the nightmare had begun. The engine had over heated on the freeway, we had the vehicle towed and inspected by the glendale Chrysler dealership. They released the vehicle back to use. We ran into the same problem another 2 times, and the exact same way and problem. The third time the dealership said that their was an air bubble and they had fixed the problem. Guess what happened recently the engine overheated again, but this time the engine has been damaged but Chrysler doesn't want to fix the problem. I had the car towed to the semi valley dealership. Even though my warranty covers this, they don't want to be out of pocket. I have been without a vehicle for over a week, with them not allowing me a rental. I have had to seek other transport means which has cost me. At the current moment I am still without a vehicle I had to approve of an engine tear down to find the problem which has taken three days and will need an inspector from Chrysler to come and approve the findings and the repair. All just so Chrysler can try and point the finger (when the car has been nothing but trouble from the get go). And I'm not ever sure if Chrysler will approve of the repair. I hope they will do what's in the customers interest considering the stress and heartache this has caused. I do know that I will never buy a Chrysler again. This issue happened on Mar. 28, 2008.

Their trial solutions have ranged fromn replacing the "coolant temperature sensor," the coolant level sensor," replacing "connecting wiring" to the vic, and to removing the vic to repair solder joints and cracks at the circuit board that is located in the vic. Most report that the first three attemped remedies did not resolve the defect. Some report success in re-soldering joints on the circuit board. The latter,--removing the vic and repairs at the circuit board-- is an involved process and requires extensive knowledge and repair tools and equipment. All report that this condition left unresolved could lead to the engine overheating and/or faulty data sent to the fuel injection system, and possible engine fire. With so many complaints on this defect, a recall or a manufacture repair bulleting, should be issued at the manufacturer's expense. It was Apr. 24, 2007 when this engine overheat issue occurred.

car   Engine Overheat problem of Kia Motor RIO

The car is a 2013 Kia Motor Rio. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Kia Motor Rio is KNADM4A3XD_. Defective engine overheat warning system this vehicle, 2013 kia Rio, 1. 6l gdi, 6-speed manual, does not have a coolant temperature gauge. It supposedly relies on one warning light on the instrument panel to indicate an overheated engine, a light whose correct operation cannot be verified. This supposed engine overheat warning light never comes on during the light bulb check phase, so that the operation of its light bulb cannot be verified. Note that the other warning lights, oil pressure, brakes, etc come on during this phase and their warning systems can be verified. If the overheat light bulb filament burns out (this frequently happens with any bulb), then the driver is never given a chance to verify the bulbs operation, and this engine overheat warning system becomes useless as there cannot be any warning indication ever given to the driver if the engine does overheat. A likely result of this defective engine overheat warning system may be a vehicle crash at high speed, whereby the driver is never given an overheated engine warning if its warning systems light bulb burns out, the engine shatters from excessive heat, the hood and engine fluids fly into the windshield blocking the drivers view, the driver loses control of the vehicle, and the kia vehicle crashes off the road or into other vehicles. This problem affects the 2013 kia Rio, and also 2012 and possibly 2011 kia Rios as well. This engine overheat problem happened on May 16, 2012.

car   Engine Overheat problem of Mazda RX8

The vehicle was a 2004 Mazda Rx8. The VIN of this vehicle was JM1FE17NX4_. Vehicle was bought new,2004. I have every oil change, every 2,900-3,000 miles and vehicle is perfectly maintained by the dealership ( harrelson Mazda -charlotte,nc ). Once 30,000 miles were put on the vehicle, engine began to fail ( stopped at red lights, stopped while on the highway, etc. ). After about 5 return visits to the dealership technicians, my engine was finally 'replaced' under warranty. Now my new engine has failed again at about 40,000 miles for the same reason as originally: Mazda specifically advises 10w-20 oil in this vehicle. But this is only to satisfy u. S. Epa standards. Everywhere else in the world, Mazda strictly advises 10w-30 oil, because anything less will allow engine to overheat and fail. I was never warned this. I was never advised this. I serviced vehicle by every reccomendation of Mazda, the owners manual, and my Mazda authorized dealership/technicians. My safety has been placed in jeopardy, solely at the fault of Mazda, for not notifying buyers that the engine had incorrect maintenance specifications, etc. Feel free to contact me anytime for further information, receipts of service, maintenance, and technician testimony. Thank you - greg t. The failure date was Tuesday, October 5, 2004.

car   Engine Overheat problem of Volkswagen Phaeton

The vehicle having this issue was a 2006 Volkswagen Phaeton. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is WVWAF03D86_. Vehicle is at 80,000 miles. There is a coolant hose within the vehicle that connects the oil filter resevoir to the engine block. The hose is made of plastic and cracks if any of the many factors are met (rapid change in temperature, high coolant temperature, over 75,000 miles). As a consequence, the plastic cracks and coolant rapidly seeps out over time. After reading over many forums, this engine, the Volkswagen/ Audi 4. 2l v8 has had this problem for decades. And many complaints have been spoken of the part failing around 75,000 miles (not long after the warranty expires). In addition, the repair to fix the $6 plastic hose requires a full engine drop from the vehicle resulting in a very costly (I was quoted $2600) repair. I was speaking with an Audi parts department, and they state this regularly occurs. Thus I firmly believe this is a design problem and is actually extremely dangerous to the engine, the environment, and to wildlife. With a loss in coolant, air also seeps into the coolant system. Thus the engine may overheat (mine like many others have) due to a lack of coolant circulation. However in the process, the coolant resevoir may still appear full as the air pocket is trapped within the system (thus not setting off low coolant warnings and not letting the owner to insert more coolant) with an overheating engine, this leads to a high concern for safety. In addition, the fact that coolant is creating half-gallon puddles around my vehicle after each day of work is also a large environmental concern (not only that, ethalyne glycol which is the main ingredient of most coolant mixtures attracts wildlife as it is sweet in taste and causes death as the mixture is incredibly poisonous). The failure date was 10/24/2011.
