car   Fuel Injection problem of Chevrolet K3500

The car is a 1998 Chevrolet K3500. 98 chev K3500 with 6. 5 turbo diesel would stall at highway speeds causing loss of power steering and power brakes. Engine sometimes would restart when vehicle put in neutral other times it may take sveral minutes. On several occasions the engine would hickup then begin to accelerate on it's own despite removing my foot from the pedal. I would have to turn the ignition off to slow the vehicle and regain control. Sometimes when attempting to restart engine it would either over rev or the rpm's would surge up and down severely. On one occasion, as I slowed to stop at a sign before pulling out onto a 4 lane road the vehicle suddenly accelerated on it's own launching me out into the road narrowly missing on coming traffic. Another time while pulling into a parking spot at my bank, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, jumping the curb and going into the bushes on the lawn! I have had this truck into numerous gm dealerships and independent repair shops and had the fuel injection pump replaced and numerous pump driver modules, pmd's made for gm by either stanadyne and d tech and had them mounted on a remote heat sink for cooler operating temps. This is a severely dangerous situation which causes loss of control of the vehicle and potential crashes! I have experienced this issue with 2 different gm vehicles I own with the 6. 5 turbo diesel engine. It was Wed., Apr. 9, 2008 when this fuel injection issue occurred.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Chrysler 300C

The car involved is a 2006 Chrysler 300c. After refueling, car stalls. This happens after driving approximately 2 to 3 minutes after leaving gas station. The stall has taken place at intersections, while at a complete stop and while driving no more than 5 -10mph after leaving the gas station. . Car restarts after several attempts in neutral. When each incident occurs, the oil icon comes on, however the oil level is not low. On one occasion after having backed into a parking space with the car gear shift still in reverse and my foot on the brake, the car lurched. The tires could be heard spinning. That was very scary because my car could have rolled into a busy highway. Once the fuel level indicates approximately a half a tank, no stalling incidents take place. Car was taken to the dealership with this concerned. Service advisor was aware of chyrsler 300c stalls after refueling. Fuel injection system was serviced/cleaned. This has not resolved the problem. Car still stalling. Really afraid to drive the car, however I am taking it back to the dealership to let them know of the still ongoing problem. This fuel injection problem happened on Tue., Sep. 24, 2013.

car   Fuel Injection problem of GMC Yukon

The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 3GKEC16T01_. At approximately 35,000 miles on 2001 GMC Yukon xl, the car began stalling when pulling into a parking space or when idling at red lights, etc. Took the car to the dealership with complaint. We were told it needed the fuel injection service. We had this done at a local mechanic and the next time we refueled the vehicle, we smelled gas and noticed the car was leaking fuel. Now any time we completely fill the vehicle with gas, it leaks and you can smell gas for a few days. When we took the car back to the dealership with this complaint, the car was then out of warranty, and the dealership wanted $250 just to look at the gas tank to see what was wrong. We denied that service. We were made aware of a possible problem through an article in the atlanta journal constitution on 9/14/04. This fuel injection problem happened on 08/12/2004.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Honda S2000

The VIN of the car is JHMAP114XY_. The Honda S2000 is a manual shift car. The map sensor on this particular car adjusts when needed to control air intake of this car. During shifting at high speeds, the car would completely stall and shut off, due to some type of problem with this sensor. On dozens of occasions, I was in atlanta rush hour traffic and the car stalled. This was extremely dangerous, and I am lucky that I or nobody else was hurt. Luckily I am good with a stick shift and new to press the shift pedal and coast to a safe place where I could restart the car. When I took the car to the dealership, they explained to me that if they had a warranty on all parts of the car they would go out of business. Because of the approximately $900 repair fee, I sought help on the forums of the largest S2000 fansite. On the forums section of this site, there are literally dozens of people who have reported the same problem. In fact, there is a section on the forum called the "map wack", a procedure where you take a hammer and wack the map sensor to get it to work properly. I am outraged that they have recalled my back tail lights because the paint color fades, yet no such recall exists for a device that can stall an S2000 at any speed. I ended up getting a new throttle body and sensor and the problem has not resurfaced in 2 years. However, I am outraged that I had to pay for a manufacturer's defect. I only label this as a defect because there are literally dozens and even hundreds of similar complaints as mine on the S2000 fansite. The failure date was June 15, 2003.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Jeep Patriot

My Jeep Patriot cuts off and to this date, I haven't received an answer on the cause of this problem. I purchased a new alternator and a battery and that did not solve that issue. On November 29, 2013, I drove the car from stamford, CT to bridgeport, CT. I was driving at a speed of 50 mph and all of a sudden, the car started making a noise as if something was clogged in the fuel system. The car would not drive over a speed over 15 mph. The very next day, I had the car checked and there is a computer malfunction in the fuel injection system. He stated that only a Jeep dealer would be able to assist me. The second incident happened on January 14, 2014 and the car did the same exact issue with the noise (clogged) and the car began to jerk. At the time, I was in new rochelle, NY and I drove straight to advance auto located on main street. The technician assisted me and hooked the car up to the scanner and it gave me a code of p2017. I purchased some fuel injection cleaner to see if that could help me out. I drove approximately 4-5 miles and the car died. I called my insurance company to see if I can get the car towed to stamford, CT. I was told by the technician and mechanic that Jeep Patriot have a recall on the fuel/propulsion system. I've also had suspension issues on several occasions. It began in July of 2013. The car has poor steering and I have to constantly get wheel alignments and change the front tires. I researched online and found that the Jeep Patriot have a ton of safety recalls on the 2008 model. I have a scheduled tow to have the car serviced at the Jeep dealer. I would like the recall issue to be honored. I have never received notification on any recalls by the manufacture. This is a major concern for me and my family. I do want to incur any injuries or fatalities. I am paying a car note on this vehicle and I feel as I've been robbed!. It was 11/30/2013 when this fuel injection issue occurred.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Jeep Wrangler

The vehicle was a 2005 Jeep Wrangler. The main issue of concern is what I describe as surging, what I mean is the vehicle wants to go without any input from the driver. What I have determined is that the vehicle has a fluctuating idle rpm as opposed to a steady idle rpm and when the idle rpm drops below an acceptable level the computer sends a signal to kick the throttle and the vehicle then surges. I have reported this problem to my dealer and they responded by saying they couldn't verify the concern. A CO-worker recently purchased the same vehicle type, engine transmission and so on and has reported the same issue to her dealer and was also told that the concern was not verifiable. The failure date was Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Lincoln Navigator

The vehicle having this issue was a 2005 Lincoln Navigator. A little complex for this little box. Driving in town. Car starter to run really rough, volumes of white smoke out of tail pipe. Check engine light on. Flatbedded car to dealer. Next day learned 2 fuel injectors had jammed on. Dealer repaired. Later in day, dealer explained 2 connecting rods had been bent attempting to compress fluid (gasoline). Ford supplied a short block under warranty. Six months later, volumes of white smoke, rough running, check engine light on. Dealer stated another injector had jammed partially open. Replaced. I asked if they had replaced all eight the initial time. No, Ford wont allow. Will Ford allow this time. No. Letter to Ford 6 weeks ago. Asked Ford to replace the remaining 5 fuel injectors. No answer. Also learned that Ford changed injector valve manufactures for the 2005 model year. Ive also learned Ford has had many, many problems with the injector valves used in 2005. I believe I am now driving a car that has a good likelihood of stranding me and my family in a minnesota winter. Yes, it is still under warranty - but that won't keep us from freezing on a lonely road. Can you do anything to document other cases? can you do anything to help me?. This fuel injection issue occurred 04/10/07.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Lincoln Navigator

The car is a 2001 Lincoln Navigator. Accelerator pedal becomes hard to depress whenever temperature is below fifteen degrees f for an extended period. Once depressed, idle does not return. Engine rpm stays elevated, dropping only when gears change, then building back up to "stiuck" rpm. When placed in neutral, engine revolutions increase to almost 5000 rpm; placing vehicle in drive causes rpm to drop to approximately 2200, which is consistent with 70 mph in drive. Vehicle cannot be stopped unless gearshift is placed in neutral or ignition turned off. It would appear that conditon relieves after about twenty minutes of driving, consistent with some internal component warming sufficiently to relieve a cold-originated contraction apparently causing binding. Condition returns randomly at somewhat higher temperatures at speed, almost as though responding to wind chill cold. Dealer obeserved conditon in two-day obervation, did not cure probelm, yet released vehicle in unsafe condition. No followup following week; reported to Lincoln customer care, but complaint ignored; no action taken. "we'll investigate" three weeks now. This problem occurred on Friday, Jan. 9, 2004.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Mazda Tribute

The car is a 2005 Mazda Tribute. The VIN of this vehicle was 4F2YZ02ZX5_. With just over 12000 miles, the throttle became very sticky in cold weather. The butterflies in the throttle body hold the accelerator pedal closed, requiring excessive force to push (and excessive acceleration). In cold weather, throttle would stick closed whenever the pedal was released, no matter how long the vehicle was driven. The dealership (hall Mazda in virginia beach) replaced the throttle body, and commented that the throttle body should be cleaned every 12000 miles for varnish buildup. There is no TSB that I could find on this problem. I believe the problem is the pcv system, allowing oil to collect on the throttle body, and causing it to bind during cold weather. This issue happened on Mon., Feb. 20, 2006.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Mazda Tribute

The vehicle having this issue was a 2002 Mazda Tribute. 1). Three recalls on my vehicle: 1st - power train control module re-calibration recall 1904d. 2nd - b4000 dpfe sensor warranty extension program special service program (ssp) 59. 3rd - accelerator cable recall 2704l. Completed all recalls; last on 3/2/05. 2). 2/2005 I started experiencing intermittent problems with my vehicle: - the car stops running usually when slowing down for a stop sign or red light. The car has stopped in the middle of traffic, in the height of rush hour. The car stopped exiting a post office backing up traffic causing motorist to seek another exit. Have had various other stops but have been lucky not to cause any accidents. - the car will not start; usually upon short trips. After waiting 3 - 5 minutes have been able to start the vehicle. Have encountered this numerous times. I limit driving at night due to the unpredictability and lack of confidence in my vehicle. 3) I have had my car service at oakland Mazda (510)893-7282 (3/2/05-recall, 4/9/05, 4/19/05, 5/11/05, & 6/20/05) and have discussed the problem with the serv advisor, ken miller & service manager. The dealership informed me they thoroughly checked-out my car each time they serviced it. They have repeated the recall which mostly describes my symptoms (re-calibration recall 1904d) at least twice. They also contacted the Mazda headquarters service center for documentation on how to check out my vehicle. I also contacted the Mazda customer assistance center at (800)222-5500 in may of 2005, they told me that if necessary they could dispatch a service technician to fly in and repair my vehicle; they also sent a report to the oakland district mgr. I contacted the Mazda cust assist center again on 7/14/05 , they told me that they would not be able to help me further with my car problem. 7/15- I contacted the dealership in fremont (where I bought the car) explained my problems and asked if they would consider taking a look at my car but the serv mgr never called me back. car   Fuel Injection problem of Mercury Villager

The vehicle involved was a 1999 Mercury Villager. VIN of the vehicle was 4M2XV11T1X_. Check engine soon light came on and I took the vehicle to the dealer as instructed in owners manual. The vehicle had been chugging when idling at a stop. For the second time in 6 months when the vehicle was presented to the dealer for service - a fuel injector had to be replaced. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty so the vehicle was covered except for the $50 deductable. However, there will come a time when the warranty runs out and the mechanic informed me that he has seen that the fuel injectors in this model "go out every 20,000 or so" miles. I asked if there was a preventive maintenence procedure I could deploy and he advised me there was not - "the injectors will fail" I was instructed. I wonder how many other Mercury Villager owners are experiencing the same problem. It was Tuesday, November 27, 2001 when this fuel injection issue happened.

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 4M2XV11T9X_. My 1999 Mercury Villager with approx 39k miles started showing this problem in April 2006. When I press the gas pedal after the light turns green, the pedal does not depress. I press harder, it finally depresses, but the van lunges forward. One time I got honked from behind. This happened about 5 times. I was planning on taking it to the shop. Then a few days later the van started trembling during idle and the "service" indicator came on. I took it to the shop on April 29th. They charged me approx $550 to replace one fuel injector and clean the throttle body and other fuel injectors. Yesterday, may 3rd the van did the same thing with a stuck gas pedal. I searched on the internet and found several complaints of this nature. Please let me know what options I have. car   Fuel Injection problem of Nissan Quest

Near miss with a stalling Nissan Quest sl 2011. This is an extremely unsafe and very dangerous problem that can cause severe accidents and death or serious injury in the event of a crash. I bought a nisan Quest sl in November 2011. Back in December 2011 while having a little bit less than a quarter tank of gasoline I made a left turn to get into incoming traffic and the vehicle stalled right on the traffic lane, fortunately there were not any cars close to my vehicle. Initially I thought it had been an isolated event, but my wife commented that the same thing had happened to her. This weekend while driving down hill and entering an intersection the vehicle stalled again (I was going straight, without turning) and the car behind me was barely able to stop when I lost speed, they almost hit us. From the events explained above I assume the fuel injection is failing due to a bad gas tank design and/or the turning and/or driving down hill may be contributing due to the uneven flow of gasoline. Again this is an extremely dangerous condition that may cause severe accidents. It was Fri., Dec. 16, 2011 when this fuel injection issue occurred.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Saturn VUE

I purchased a new Saturn Vue in 3/02. It ran great until 1/7/03 at which time the car lost power and wouldn't start. I called Saturn, and they had someone pickup the car and tow it to a dealership in saginaw. When I picked it up, I was told the car had too much gas got in the cylinder. I've been driving cars for 20 yrs &never had a problem like that, so I thought it might have just been a quirky thing. . . Until it happened again 2 wks later (1/23/03). I called the Saturn, and they picked it up. I was now concerned about the car breaking down when my wife was driving it with my 3 sons. I picked up the car from the dealership, and they told me the same thing happened as the 1st time. I voiced my frustration to the svc mgr who gave me his bus card and told me to have my wife call him if she ever broke down. . . I don't think he works 24x7. The same thing just happened again on 1/13/04. I asked dealership happened this time - they said it was the same thing. I pressed this person for more info and he asked me how far I had driven the car before it broke down. I told him just a short distance. He said there's a quirky thing with Saturns - in cold weather you have to let them run for 2 or 3 minutes even if you're taking the car for a short drive or the car will get too much gas in the engine and break down. The svc person I worked with, got the svc mgr (terry mckee) who echoed the same thing. Keep in mind, I have a wife and 3 little boys. If my wife uses our car, I can't expect her to have to follow this procedure for fear of being stranded! I got the customer care # at Saturn filed a complaint (reference #110098470). Brian from Saturn said they won't do anything to help me out. His only solution was for me to let the car run for 2-3 minutes before I drive it. I wouldn't have bought the car if I would have known about this! I don't want the car anymore, but I can't sell it to someone in good conscience. Can you please help????. This fuel injection problem happened on Tue., Jan. 13, 2004.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Saturn SW2

The car was a 1997 Saturn Sw2. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 1G8ZK8279V_. Fuel pump was replaced, Saturn had sent consumer a letter stating that the fuel pump may fail prematurely and cause extended crank time, loss of power, and possible no start conditions, Saturn gave a rreplacement coverage of 6 years/75000 miles, however 5 months after fuel pump replacement, the fuel regulator went bad, dealer also replaced new plugs and spark plug wires, consumer feels the fuel pump over pressurized the fuel regulator causing a pre-existing condition in the fuel regulator to fail. car   Fuel Injection problem of Subaru Forester

Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is JF1SG69604_. This 2004 Subaru Forester 2. 5 xt awd 4-spd automatic transmission with multi-purpose fuel injection turbo (feedback fuel system) has been producing a strong fuel smell that fills the entire vehicle cabin. I've been told by the dealer that this is to be expected from this type of engine and that there is nothing much that they can do about it and to learn to live with it. The dealer also indicates that this problem is basically caused by extreme cold weather and/or temperature change. I have researched this issue and found that there was a similar problem with the Subaru impreza and that Subaru issued a recall. No vehicle, Subaru or otherwise, should produce a problem like this one that is "unfixable. " the consumer should be protected from this potentially hazardous situation. This consumer is putting Subaru on notice. It was November 20, 2013 when this fuel injection issue occurred.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Subaru Outback

The car is a 1999 Subaru Outback. There are several issues going on with my 1999 Subaru legacy Outback vehicle: 1) the check engine light goes on when the fuel gauge drops down to empty although the gas tank was just filled with gas. 2) the fuel gauge does not read correct. After the gas tank is full, the gauge fluctuates back and forth (sometimes the gauge reads near empty, sometimes the gauge reads 3/4 of the tank full) when operating the vehicle. 3) the car did not pass the California smog test. 4) the rpm gauge does not stay constant while driving at an even speed. Once the gauge hits between two to three thousand rpm, the gauge drops back to between one and two thousand rpm on and of when driving. 5) the gas tank does not maintain pressure even though the lid was screwed on tight. The lid was replaced with a new one but this problem still occurs. All these issues occur with the check engine light on. The dealer does not want to look at these issues without having me pay them to look at my car. These issues my car has been experiencing have been on and off since 2001 to present. The problems seem to get worse. It was Saturday, February 8, 2003 when this fuel injection issue happened.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Volvo 960

The vehicle was a 1997 Volvo 960. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Volvo 960 is YV1KS960XV_. Smelled fuel in engine compartment, opened hood and found a leaking fuel injection supply rail. Leak stems from the end cap used on fuel rail towards the front of the engine near the thermostat housing and proceeds to drip vigorously down towards the intake manifold before evaporating and dripping down onto lower part of the engine and finally the ground. I have found several comments in the internet forums related to this possible defect in the manufacturing of this part stating that the leak is located in the end cap of the fuel rail, and Volvo has a re engineered fuel rail that eliminates the leaking end cap and is currently offering this re engineered part as a replacement at a normal retail labor and parts rate. Since modern vehicles are designed to operate beyond the traditional mileage of 100k , the general public is not expecting to have such a safety hazard present itself by a failing fuel rail end cap, in addition the Volvo owners manual does not recommend any maintenance of the fuel rail at any specific mileage thus misleading the public by the omission that such a part should be replaced before failure occurs. In addition Volvo has re engineered the part and is currently profiting from the safety hazard that this fuel rail has created. Volvo has in the past and currently advertised itself as reliable and safe, thus creating a certain expectation of high safety standards and high safety ratings, and Volvo should (in keeping with it's public image) at it's own expense remedy this problem by conducting a vehicle safety improvement campaign such as Nissan motor CO. Has done in the past(NHTSA campaign id number: 95i006000) to prevent any possible injuries that may result from leaking fuel systems that have not been altered or modified by current or previous owners and reimburse those that have already replaced the leaking fuel rails at their own expense. This issue happened on Sat., Jan. 28, 2012.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Volvo XC70

Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is YV1SZ58D71_. Hello, the etm (electronic throttle module) in our 2001 Volvo Xc70 failed on my wife in the middle of heavy traffic on colorado highway 83. She was in the middle lane of three and was traveling about 50 mph. The engine died completely and she had a hard time making it through traffic to the side of the road. She had to let traffic pass before doing so. She had to sit on the shoulder for about 15 minutes before the car would start again. I discussed the heavy failure rate of Volvo etms with mcdonald Volvo of denver, CO and told them Volvo was recalling this part in sweden and that at least one class action suit was filed. They said that there was no recall nor would they perform a goodwill replacement. We had to replace it at a cost of $1,090. 45. The mileage on our Volvo was 67,487. Do you have any more information regarding the safety issues and the unusually high failure rate of Volvo etms? my wife and I are concerned about our safety in our Volvo. Rurik lubinski. car   Fuel Injection problem of Audi A6

The vehicle is a 2001 Audi A6. Audi 2001 A6 2. 7t tiptronic while in d transmission mode, car does not accelerate per accelerator input after using the brakes. There is a delay of about a couple of seconds before car accelerates. This happens after braking from low speeds followed by gentle acceleration and also when braking from higher speeds followed by either gentle or aggressive acceleration. Often there will be a pronounced jerk when the car starts to accelerate after the delay. Safety issue typical situation: when crossing medians to merge with traffic in the opposite direction, oncoming traffic have to brake heavily to avoid a collision because the car is unable to accelerate smartly after braking. The same crossing in previously owned Audi a4 1. 8t and Audi a4 2. 8 (both without fly by wire throttle) could be safely negotiated without any acceleration delay. This situation is unacceptable and highly dangerous in normal everyday driving. References from Audiworld. Com forums it is apparent that there are many owners experiencing this problem. All have the Audi tiptronic transmission and fly by wire throttle system, not limited to the 2. 7t model. This fuel injection problem happened on Thursday, October 16, 2003.. Read more...

car   Fuel Injection problem of BMW X3

Since purchase of my 2007 BMW X3 in Nov 2006 the engine hesitated periodically when iaccellerating. I have taken tires to the BMW service center, who drove the car and agreed their was a problem. I was told that there were many cars within a certain lot of VIN numbers , who have the same problem and my VIN number falls within this lot. I was also told at this time, BMW has been notified, but they do not know how to fix the problem. When this problem occurs, the car hesitates in the middle of the street and then surges forward. This is a periodic occurance. It appears that the engine gets the fuel but then does not know what to do with it. BMW service said they would keep in contact with me about fixing this problem but I have not heard from them in over one month. I left another message last week and have not had a return call. Do you have any information about this issue? thank you. This fuel injection problem happened on Nov. 15, 2006.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Buick Regal

The VIN of this vehicle is 2G4WF5513Y_. I purchased a 2000 Buick Regal gse 8/18/00 which has a supercharged engine. The car has been a great car until 12/16/2005. After I had parked the car and gone into the doctor's office, my car caught fire and was destroyed. The car was totaled and the insurance adjuster told me it was the 3rd burned Buick Regal supercharged engine that he'd seen this year alone. After investigation, it appears the gasket in the fuel injection system leaked, fuel dropped onto the manifold system, a fire started and the car was destroyed (along with a good bit of damage to the Volvo parked next to mine). It would appear that the supercharged engine gaskets are a problem and fortunately for me, the car was the only loss. . . . It could have been so much more. I do not know if others have lost anything beyond their cars but I believe it should be investigated. The failure date was Dec. 16, 2005.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Cadillac SLS

The vehicle is a 1999 Cadillac Sls. The VIN of the problem Sls is 1G6KS54Y1X_. Upon starting my car their was a back-fire under the hood. I again started the car and drove about two miles to my home and parked the car in the garage. I then entered the house through the garage door and started looking for receipts for charges I made at the grocery store and charges I made refueling the car. I was unable to find the charges made at the gas station. I then returned to the garage to look in the vehicle for the receipt. At this time I noticed smoke coming from under the hood of the car. I opened the hood to find the insulation smoldering that is attached to the hood of the automobile. I then grabbed a sponge and soaked it in a pail of water that was in the set-tub located in the garage. I put out the fire that was now starting to burn under the hood. I can only imagine what might have happened if I didn't look for the receipt at that time seeing as how the garage is under the roof of my home. Note: I had noticed once before that part of the insulation had burned under the hood of the car. This was a burn about 12 inches square on the left side of the engine near the middle of the hood. I always wondered how this might have happened. At present the area that has burned is now about 18 inches in diameter. This issue happened on Nov. 21, 2007.

car   Fuel Injection problem of Jaguar XJ8

The car is a 1998 Jaguar Xj8l. The vehicles engine stalled without warning while driving at approximately 60 mph on a 4-lane limited access highway. The instrument panel display read engine stalled. My wife was driving and she was able to coast the car to the side of the road to a safe stop. Fortunately there was no other traffic in the immediate vicinity. The engine restarted once the ignition was turned off and back on. We have experienced similar intermittent stalling over the last year or so, but never at highway speeds. Last July (2003) a local Jaguar dealer replaced three (3) engine relays and declared the problem fixed, but it started re-occurring again within a few months. The car is currently in the shop having the problem looked at again. The initial response from the technician was that the same three engine relays are bad again, but I ask for a more thorough analysis of the problem to be performed& why are the relays going bad? our experience sounds similar to numerous other complaints (see list of ids below) logged on the NHTSA web site for our make, year and model (and other similar models). There are also many, many other reports of similar experiences on Jaguar-related bulletin boards all over the web. There are even indications that a recall might be pending, but I couldnt find any definitive information to verify that. The dealer service team doesnt have, or isnt willing to provide any information about any pending actions. Under the right condition, this failure could lead to disastrous consequences.
