car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Chevrolet 1500

The car is a 2001 Chevrolet 1500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 2GCEC19V81_. In about 2006, the fuel guage in my husband's truck stopped functioning. It showed empty when tank was full. No recall notice was issued to us. When he had diagnosed, the diagnosis was a bad chip or electrical problem, or switch. It would be expensive to fix. At this time I was diagnosed with breast cancer & underwent surgery $ mos. Of chemo. My husband, military retiree, stayed with me in hospital. After my chemo, he had both hips replaced and was being treated until 2013 for spinal injections. In July 2013, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer & passed away in August. In the meantime, when he derove the truck he recorded mileage after a fill in order to keep track of amt. Of fuel. I always worried about this as being non-safe, but he could only get into a truck because of his medical condition, so our choices were limited. Now after his passing, the truck is in my name but I do not drive it because I am afraid for my safety because of the defect. I am still under the care of an oncologist and need the truck at this time. Are you able to help with this problem? it would relieve the stress & give me peace of mind regarding my safety. I await your response. I was referred to you by the NHTSA. The failure date was May 31, 2006.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Chevrolet Equinox

The car was a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 2CNALBEW2A_. My car began chugging, losing power and eventually stalled as I came to a stop. This began when I slowed my vehicle on three separate occasions (once when I slowed to turn a corner- 2012, once when I slowed to stop at a light-3/2013 and the third time was when sitting idle with my foot on the brake-2/2013. ) each time my gas tank was less than half full but at different levels at each occurrance. My check engine light came on after the incidents. After the car stalled, I turned it off and was able to start it back up without incident each time. The car rides rough and is now making a rattling/rubbing noise. I have had two code checks; one returned as an issue in bank one with 3 potential issues: oxygen sensor, fuel injection system or ignition misfire. The second code check was code po172, fuel too rich. After the first code check, we replaced the O2 sensor and the car stalled the next day so the codes were checked again after my check engine light came back on. Other issues: *driver side lumbar support broke. Chair rocks a little but is still usable (albeit probably not safe): December, 2012 jerks/shifts roughly when slowing down or shifting from second to third. Also, when you turn off the cruise control, it slows down significantly and abruptly. (current issue and an issue since the day I bought the car in August, 2009. *climate control stuck on high (documented recall that I was not notified about. ) *weather stripping on the inside of the passanger front door stuck to the door and pulled off when the door was opened (unknown month, 2010) *driver side bottom part of seat cushion came unattached from seat base when I pulled it to the side to get an item that dropped down near the console (unknown month 2010) *constant knocking in the engine (been an issue since shortly after I bought it). This problem occurred on July 2, 2012.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The vehicle involved is a 2005 Chrysler town and country. Whenever I fill in the gas my town and country will stall after driving a mile or so. Complained to dealer about this problem and they always suggested fuel injection service. On this date however my van completely stopped while driving soon after I filled my gas tank. Took to the dealer (it later started with check engine light on) and they changed the spark plugs with cable and did few more things. It still does the same. Soon after putting in gas it stalls/shuts off. Had to wait and start again. After that never gives any trouble until time to put in the gas. This other fuel system fuel injection system issue occurred Nov. 29, 2013.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of GMC Suburban

The car is a 1999 GMC Suburban. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 3GKFC16F9X_. Injector pump failure causing the vehicle to just stall when going down the road. It happened to me the last hot weekend this fall. The local dealer took my vehicle & had it for over a week, finally getting a code to show up that allowed them to replace the injector pump. I don't believe that the injector pump was at fault, but instead the pmd electronic control module was failing. This replacement didn't cost me anything, but I think gm should extend the warranty for a much longer period of time because of the known problem. They extended the warranty to 120,000 miles on an engine that is designed to run 200,00+ miles w/proper care. My vehicle has approx. 50,000 miles on it at this time. This other fuel system fuel injection system problem happened on October 22, 2002.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of GMC Sierra 3500

The vehicle was a 2001 GMC 3500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this GMC 3500 is 1GTJK33191_. Injector failures on 2001 GMC duramax 6. 6 diesel engine. Injectors failed and replaced under warranty at 167,000 miles, failed again at 197,000 miles and replaced under warranty. G m customer service said they would replace them under warranty if they failed again in such a short period of time. Injectors failed at 234,000 miles and gm customer service renigged on their word. Many others have had failures in 30,000 to 40,000 miles. They are replacing parts with remanufactured parts and they are not lasting. Gm dealers are charging $3600. 00 to $4,500. 00 to replace these injectors out of warranty. It is plain that they know that there is a problem with the injectors when they extended the warranty on injectors from 100,000 to 200,000 miles or seven years. They get away with this because most people do not drive their vehicles that much in seven years. All I wanted was a fair deal and did not get it. This other fuel system fuel injection system issue occurred Oct. 10, 2006.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Honda Accord

The vehicle involved is a 2001 Honda Accord. The gas pedal sticks randomly, causing unwanted rapid acceleration. Happens anytime, anywhere without warning. I have come very close to hitting many cars in parking lots and while driving in stop-and-go traffic. I first noticed it a couple months after I purchased the car, but the dealer service rep told me it would go away in time. A year later, I was still having the same problem. I had moved by then so I contacted a different dealer, weir canyon Honda in anaheim hills, and I had to fight with the guy at service to repair it under warranty. After getting the receipt, I noticed that they had only completed one of three procedures that they explained to me and tried to charge me for. As I drove out of the service center, it got stuck again and I almost hit one of their new cars (if I had, maybe they would believe me). I put up with it for a couple more months and finally took it back again. They told me there would be a charge, although their service is under warranty for 12 months or 12000 miles. I explained that the service manager was aware of the issue and had promised to do whatever necessary to resolve the problem. They grudgingly agreed to perform all three steps of their normal service for this problem but told me it was just a 'one time courtesy' and that future problems would be my responsibility. The service rep insisted that 'Honda does not make parts that cause such problems' and accused me of causing the problem by the way I drive. I have my car back, but I'm wondering if and when it will start having problems again, and if so, whether they will honor their service warranty. This other fuel system fuel injection system problem happened on December 18, 2002.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Honda Accord

The car was a 2000 Honda Accord. Engine will fire and then immediatly stall if engine is already warm. Otherwise it will run fine. A trouble code was taken from the computer (p1399) which Honda tells me does not exist for a 2000 Accord. Another Honda rep told me that the fuel pressure regulator does not read well with "winter fuels" in warmer (50-60f) weather. The warrantee on this part only goes to 80,000 miles. It was Tuesday, October 19, 2004 when this other fuel system fuel injection system issue occurred.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Hyundai XG350

I bought the 2004 Hyundai Xg350 in February 05. In summer of 06 I began having problems with the digital reading of miles togo before "e". It does not reset when gas has been put in, it takes a few turns of the key to register. I was driving my son to school one morning and as I tried to accelerate to go up a hill the car began to studder, check engine light appeared,it felt like something wasnt catching in order for the vehicle to move. When I stopped a the red light and slowly took my foot off the brake it would lunge forward. I ended up having to have it towed to the dealer. Of course the problem didnt happen when they test drove. They changed the sensor and it hasnt been symptom free. Still slow to reset gas mileage, still studders, check engine light. When it starts to studder I am able to drive under 60mph, shifting drive 1-2-3 like a stick shift. Once I try to go over 60 miles per hour (highway) can not do it without continuous studder. It was Saturday, May. 27, 2006 when this other fuel system fuel injection system issue occurred.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Kia Motor Rondo

The vehicle having this issue was a 2008 Kia Motor Rondo. In September 2011, check engine light came on. The vehicle would not restart after refueling. I would have to pump the gas before the car would restart and it would make a sound like it was trying to suck up gas through a straw that had a hole in it. I had a fuel injection flush and dye added but unable to detect what was causing the problem. This went on for several months. Currently, the car does not turn over on the first attempt. It takes approximately 3 attempts for the car to start. This is in addition to the car not starting after refueling. I took car in for repair and was told that I needed to replace the fuel pump assembly. As I researched the recommended repair, I learned that kia recalled other 2008 Rondo's, so I called them and was told that my vehicle is a 2. 7 liter and not part of the recall campaign. I am having the same problem as the vehicles in the recall campaign and think that this matter should be further investigated. This issue happened on Thursday, Sep. 1, 2011.

After sitting for 2 days in feburary of 2003, my 2001 Mazda Tribute has a hard start and extrame hesitation when driving. Later the engine light came on. I had the vehicle towed to Mazda dealership who said it was caused by busted spark plug. I oked a tune up. In March 2003 after sitting two days, the same problem occurred. I called the dealership and was told they found a callapsed hose. I have not allowed the vehicle to sit for 2 days again but did notice a slight hesitation off and on and it is now December 2003 and the problem has gotten worse. And like other complaints, it starts at elevation between 45-50 mph. After 55 it's fine. It does this all the time. As of 1-2-04 I have a scheduled appointment to have it checked out. Also indicating that the computer rom had to be updated. When the "service engine soon" light came on yet again I called the dealership and was told that I had to wait until April when the "update" is available. In the mean time, the "service engine soon" light is on, there is a terrible miss & my gas mileage is crummy. The vehicle involved is a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Mitsubishi Eclipse spyder is 4A3AE85H32_. My check engine light came on and my car felt wobbly. I took it to my mechanic who said there was a misfire which could mean I needed new spark plugs but shouldn't until 60,000; I only have 44,000 miles on my car. He replaced all six spark plugs but that did not fix the problem so he replaced the wires, cap and rotor, the check engine light was still on so he did a compression test and said my 6th piston was not holding compression and this was a bigger problem so I should take it to the dealership. I took it to miller Mitsubishi and they said there was a misfire and my 6th piston was not holding compression. My warranty expired. They said there are dents on the 6th piston from something being dropped into the engine therefore that is why it won't hold compression and I need a new engine block. The only work I ever had done prior to this was oil changes every 3,000 miles. They want me to pay for a new engine at 44,000 miles. My car is still at the dealership. This problem occurred on Wed., May. 18, 2005.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Volvo V70

The vehicle having this issue was a 2001 Volvo V70xc. Etm failed in heavy traffic last year. I have been advised Volvo is not recalling but will compensate owners for the etm repairs. Go to the Volvo website and e-mail them with request for reimbursement and they will instruct where to send receipts for repairs. They are supposedly sending letters but I did not get one nor was I contacted by the dealer where the repairs were made. I have had many expensive problems with my V70 2001 xc before and after it was out of warranty. They should recall as etm is a major safety issue. Why not?? class action suit anyone? I will never buy a Volvo again. This issue happened on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Volvo V70

The car involved was a 2000 Volvo V70xc. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is YV1LZ56D1Y_. 1. Defective throttle body caused engine to shut-off on freeway. 2. Engine died. Had to "limp" back into dealer for replacement. 3. New part installed. Old part available. If manufacturer has a "dealer only" repair policy, then there should be notice given to prospective purchasers that vehicle can only be repaired at dealer. Notice should be in form of warning decal in engine compartment or some other conspicuous place. "dealer only" repair policy should be discourage because of lengthy towing when vehicles breakdown outside major cities, I. E. The west. Customer should not be required to learn after a breakdown that the vehicle must be towed hundreds of miles to a dealer for repairs. Currently such vehicles must be towed past large towns/small cities back to a major urban area to a dealer that can fix the vehicle. Mfr. Should be required to conspiciously disclose such a requirement. This information is currently concealed by mfr. By omission. Requiring conspicous disclosure would encourage mfr. To design, mfr. car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Audi A3

The vehicle identification number (VIN) is WAUKJAFM7B_. I own an Audi A3 2011, tdi. I had two similar incidents with the fuel injection system with this tdi. The first time it happened when the cars just passed the warranty period of 50,000 miles. I drove this car in city street and the “glow-plug” indicator light came on. I barely made it to the Audi service. They told me that I contaminated with unleaded fuel. I told the service manager that is not the case because I only use one gas station and usually, I used the same diesel pump. After Audi dealer talk to the Audi of America, they decided to pay for the repair, approximately $8,000. Then this is the second similar indecent. I started the engine and hear unusual clanking noise from the engine. I continued to drive the car in city street to my home. Then suddenly the “glow plug” lights momentarily flashes. The engine dies immediate right after. I coast the car to the curb. I took the car into the dealer, and after a day, the service manager again told me that the fuel system was contaminated with unleaded fuel. I assured you that this is not the case because I am the only one who drove this car. The service manager told me that Audi did the analysis and it indicated that the fuel got contaminated, but continued to deny the accusation because I am very careful in using the “ultra-low sulfur diesel” for my car. The first incident I only pour my diesel gas from shell station, but since the first incident had happened, I changed to chevron station. After one week, I called the service manager and ask him for the analysis of the contamination, and he said that he had sent to Audi in germany for report. Then I said I wanted the old injection system back so I can do an independent analysis, he also told me he sent the old parts back to germany for further analysis. I seriously doubted that the Audi dealer service department did any analysis. This other fuel system fuel injection system issue occurred Sep. 5, 2013.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of BMW 535

I purchased a pre-owned 2010 BMW 535i on 12/31/2013. The next day (new year's day), and without any warning or indication, the vehicle spontaneously shut down, coming to a rolling stop. As soon as the engine shut down, the dashboard showed a "fuel pump" warning, which also noted that "continued driving is possible. " however, several attempts to re-start were not successful, and the vehicle had to be pushed to a safe location. Prior to the engine failure, I was driving at about 35 mph on a 2-lane divide roadway, where construction barricades replaced the shoulder. The incident occurred just around midnight, and there was very little traffic, so we were spared certain catastrophe. The vehicle was towed to my home, and although the engine light stayed on, we were able to drive it back to the dealership from there. For the next 30+ days, various fuel injection system components were serviced and/or replaced including the following: high-pressure fuel pump replaced; low-pressure fuel pump replaced; fuel injectors flushed, ignition coils and spark plugs replaced. After each of those "fixes", the vehicle was returned to us, and shut down again on the road and in traffic within 2 days. Finally, the injection pump control module was replaced, and the vehicle underwent a complete software system update. We picked up the vehicle for the 4th time on 2/3/2014, and it appears that the problem has been corrected and our safety restored. . . . The failure date was Wednesday, January 1, 2014.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of BMW 3 Series

The vehicle involved is a 2008 BMW 3 Series. The VIN of this vehicle is WBAVB73558_. Fuel injectors constantly need replacement every 15,000 miles or so. All 6 were initially replaced on recall at 35,000 miles and then 3 more needed replacement 49,000 miles. Now the car has about 61,000 miles and needs another 3 replaced. This is obviously a problem with the design of the fuel injection system and needs to be recalled again or warrantied for an extended period of time. Safety issues are that when you try to accelerate the vehicle hesitates putting the occupants in an unsafe situation. Merging into traffic or turning onto a busy street can be really scary. This other fuel system fuel injection system issue occurred Feb. 1, 2011.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Cadillac Seville

The vehicle involved was a 1993 Cadillac Seville. The vehicle's vehicle identification number (VIN) was 1G6KY5295U_. The fuel line is leaking. It could start a fire and I have children. I found a recall on this already on another site but didn't know if it would still be valid to get it replaced. I just bought the vehicle from an individual and then 2 months after this happened. Consequence: (fuel leaks in the engine compartment can result in underhood fires if exposed to a source of ignition) summary: (the fuel feed and return lines to the engine fuel injection system were not fully assembled and locked. The lines can work loose) remedy: (dealer will inspect vehicle and, if necessary adjust or replace the fuel feed and return lines to the engine fuel injection system) I have a 1993 Cadillac Seville sts v8 4. 6l that's what the recall said about the recall on this car. I have tried to buy new part but it is discontinued I am assuming because there's a recall. This problem occurred on Monday, April 2, 2012.

car   Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of Jaguar Vanden Plas

The car is a 1998 Jaguar Vanden Plas. The first time it happened as I was driving the car on the highway approximately 60 mph, suddenly without any warning the engine stopped running, fortunately I was driving the car in the right line, I stopped on the shoulder and restarted the engine, after several attempts the car did start and I drove home, I made a appointment with the local dealer, they found no problem at that time, but they did tell me that there was a recall on some VIN# for the same problem but my car was not part of the recall, now I can't drive the car because very often happens the same scenario, the engine just quits some times will start immediately an at times will not start for several hours. Currently the car is at Jaguar service facility, they are telling me that I need a throttle body the same part that is being recalled on other vehicle identification numbers.
