This was very dangerous and nearly cause severly accidents. I would pull off the side of the road and wait for about five minutes and then the car would start again. I took it to one mechanic and he replaced the plugs, wires, and ignition coil. The next day the car broke down again. I took it to another mechanic theydid a decarbon treatment on engine. I got the car back and it broke down the next day. I took it to another mechanic he repaced a fuel filter. When I drove it home it broke down again. The next day I took it back to the same mechanic, at that point he drove the car for a few days until it broke down on him with the computer hook to it. He then replaced part no. 22683260 module 3. 107 137 and part no. 22626099 ring 3. 112 g31 check for recall of fuel tank fitting and did not replace. I left the parking lot of the service department and noticed that the check engine light was on. I turned around and took it back to the same mechanic he hook up the computer said he did not know why the light was on and put gas treatment in the tank and told me to drive it home and once I had run out this tank of gas unhook the battery and hook it back up again and the light should go off. Ii did this and the light came right back on. At this point I have a car with 50,000 miles on it which I owe a lot of money on and can not take it out of the driveway for fear it will break down leave me stranded or get in an accident, or catch on fire. I have written a letter to gm three weeks ago with no response. In the past two months I have spent over 1,500 dollars in repairs and the mechanics are telling me now the next step is to tear down the engine and replace the pistons. First incident, several weeks ago: within two minutes after starting car, attempted to enter highway with a left turn. With light pressure on throttle, engine ran to high rpm. Was able to steer into center turn lane while shifting to neutral. Engine returned to normal mode of operation, and I proceeded directly to my dealership. Dealership kept car for several days, finding nothing ( service said they checked the computer and called Chrysler), they said car was safe to drive. Second incident: last Saturday (Nov. 10, 2007) my wife used car to go shopping. Approximately four minutes after start, engine again oversped: she pulled over and put the car in park and shut it down. When I arrived, attempted a restart; engine went to a high rpm so I shut it down and left it parked while I went to the dealer. Service was already gone for the day so I talked to the manager, who set up a tow through Chrysler corp. Dealerships service couldn't get to it until wed. Evening (Nov. 14). Mechanic found the same problem but can't find why. They called Chrysler, but no help. The failure date was Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007.

The vehicle was a 1998 Mazda 626. The car cut off while I was driving. The repairman said the problem was due to oil slug build. I had all my oil changes done at the dealership. The brown said they will not pay for the repair, the extended warranty company will not pay for the repair of $5,000 for rebuilt or $7,000 for a new engine. My friend was told the person who had the car before did not have the oil changed regularly. I guess I am lucky I was not on the highway because the car cut off with no warning. The vehicle involved was a 2000 Mercedes Benz Slk. For investigation on the Mercedes Benz 2000 Slk. Vehicle to mb dealership repeatedly since purchased new, for a problem with hard/full throttle acceleration. When fully depressing the accelerator, on occasion the car will backfire or hesitate, or almost stall until the accelerator is released. The problem appears to be directly related to the activation of the turbo-charger (kompressor). A check of the service records for the VIN number reveals that the problem goes back to 10/25/04 when the O2 sensor was replaced. That same senor was replaced on 05/24/07. The problem was again reported to and diagnosed by a dealer hyannis MA on 06/21/07 during a trip to cape cod after it occurred on the interstate driving from va to cape cod. Upon return to va, the mass air flow sensor was replaced to correct the problem on 07/03/07. The same problem was again reported on 01/30/07 where it was corrected as an air intake hose problem. The problem was again reported and "corrected" on 11/09/07 . The problem was again reported and corrected by replacing the air mass sensor yet again! on 07/30/08. This time it had occurred in the interstate on ramp acceleration lane almost causing an accident due to unexpected lack of acceleration performance. The problem again occurred on 09/08/08 during full acceleration again. It should be noted here that I hold a master of science degree in safety, from the university of southern California. I am also very familiar with the nhsta safety defect reporting/investigation system and the data base related to safety recalls and tsbs. John b. Pratt maj (USA ret). The car involved is a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is JA4MS31XX7_. My mitsibishi SUV Outlander LS 2007 had failed to stop about between 20-30 ft. From the car ahead of me. When I tried to stop in a sudden move, the anti-skid and anti-lock plus abs system failed. I hit the other vehicles rear bumper and my SUV bumper got hit and within few seconds the whole SUV caught in fire and burnt. I was not able to collect my items from the back seat of the car. I own a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer evolution that was purchased brand new from the dealership in the middle of 2003. The car had run fine until about may 12th of this year. The car started performing oddly. The turbo and engine would not provide full power at random times while driving. I was informed by mechanics that it could possibly be a vacuum line leak or hose leak. Acting on their advice, I purchased from the dealership replacement factory vacuum hoses and replaced them on the car. This did not fix the problem. I then decided to take my car to the dealership being that the car was still under warranty and told them the problem. During this time the engine had also picked up a slight ticking sound. After two days I was contacted saying they could not find any problem other than my intercooler hoses being a little loose from having removed and replaced them to do the hose install. I was then charged 200$ for labor. I picked the car up and immediately upon heading home could feel the same problem with the engine/turbo and ticking. I took the car back immediately and let the service manager hear the ticking and informed him that the car was still having engine problems. He asked me to bring it back on Monday and they would then address the issue. I returned my vehicle to the shop that Monday and was not contacted until I called them on Thursday only to be told my warranty was not being honored because someone had been 'messing around' near the turbo (the location the vacuum lines were replaced). I informed them why they would see that and I was told I would need to open a case with mmna to appeal their decision. That appeal was also rejected as the district representative of that location would not believe what I had to say. Nothing has been done to the car to fix the problem, and I am left with having to pay out of pocket now to diagnose and fix a problem which should have been covered under warranty. The car involved is a 2000 Volvo S80. The VIN of the car is YV1TS90D2Y_. At 70mph my car said reduced performance, and within 30 sec. My cruise control failed, the car reduced to 5mph, and there was no acceleration. I was in 5 lanes of rush hour traffic doing 70-80mph. An eighteen wheeler skidded approx. 50 feet in order to avoid hitting me. He then had to block off two lanes of traffic to assist me to the shoulder. My car would only coast. It was a near death experience for me. I'm thankful my children were not with me. After being turned off over night, my husband attempted to drive it to the Volvo dealership. He experienced the same. We were told that it was due to a computer chip malfunction. A chip which controls the throttle, fuel-injection, and cruise control. Wow! the service rep. "we haven't seen anymore problems after replacing the chip". We asked why has this not been recalled. The rep. Said "there have to be so many accidents and fatalities reported, before they will recall it". This has left me very disturbed, and reluctant to ever drive a Volvo again. I feel sure if it hadn't been for my quick use of the hazard lights, it could have been fatal. The truck driver also concurred. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. They may not be so lucky.
