It did this one more time before I got to were I had to go, and when I stopped my driver side rear tire was smoking and had an awful smell of burning rubber. Thank good I had someone close to area to stop and come help. I had no brake on that rear tire, it was metal to metal, the cylinder was so hot there were no rubber boot left on it and the hub had seized. I had no indication of any of this, no squealing or anything it was pretty sudden. The emergency brake cable was sticking on the driver side and had to be replaced. The spring on the emergency brake cable was flat. All the other brakes were fine still looked new. I'm not sure what damage this could have caused but I have two small children who ride in this car all the time. I was also told buy the selling dealer that this vehicle has anti-lock brakes, after this problem I had someone looked over my whole brake system and they stated that they could not detect an anti-lock brake system there is a spot for a fuse but no fuse was there. It was not, as I checked the brake light and foot pedal when I left. After replacing all the brake pads, rotor and bearings it was still not working right and they determined the cable was bad. When I asked them if that was the cause or effect, they said they were not sure. There was no way to tell. To me this was exculpate, and my dealer was willing to pay for the repair, but one person at north american Honda would not change her mind. The appeal process is a joke. car   Parking Brake Linkage And Cable problem of Honda Civic

The VIN of this vehicle is 2HGFG12627_. My 2007 Honda Civic ran over a piece of tire from a truck. It passed under the car and bent the rear most bracket holding the handbrake cable. It applied the rear brakes causing the vehicle to become difficult to control. The rear brakes overheated and the rear brakes required a major service to restore it to roadworthiness. We contacted Honda, they opened a case number but refused to accept there was a design problem and left the resolution to me. I believe this could lead to a nasty accident if the rear wheel brakes locked up and I think the design change required would be simple. If the rear bracket was moved up 1 to 2" I think the problem would be solved. I suggested this the Honda but my suggestion was ignored citing they didn't see this problem show up elsewhere. car   Parking Brake Linkage And Cable problem of Nissan Quest

The car is a 2005 Nissan Quest. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Nissan Quest is 5N1BV28U65_. On February 3, 2008 after returning home from a trip to the grocery store, I parked my car as I normally would and engaged the emergency parking brake. After going in the house, I noticed the smell of smoke coming from under my carport. When opening the door, I found my car engulfed in white smoke coming from under the hood, the vehicle and smoke had completely filled the interior of the vehicle. I immediately got my children out of the house and called 911; the fire department came and tried to investigate what was the cause of the smoke to no avail. In trying to prevent the car from possibly sparking the house it took four fireman to push my car in neutral to the outside of my carport. My interior was smoked and my carpet was charred under my seat and under my childrens car seat turns out my emergency brake cable melted along with the interior plastic, creating a spark that ignited the carpet and melted the plastic molding in my car. Mr. Sanders stated that the car was fixable however he had never seen anything like this before the fix he stated was to replace the emergency parking brake cable (two hour fix) however he could not tell us why this happened. Mr. Sanders stated that he would not replace the carpet nor get the interior cleaned that I had to deal with Nissan corporate. Melissa is now stating that Nissan is willing to fix the parking brake cable, replace the scorched carpet, detail the interior and carpet and fix the harness and pay for our rental car. Melissa could not explain to my husband the function of the harness and how it relates to the possible fire, she stated that possibly the parking brake and harness were misrouted and connected thus creating a spark that melted the cable, molding, and carpet. She stated she is not sure and could not go into it technically; she also stated that she was unable to provide us with any written documentation because it is a Nissan internal document. This issue happened on Sunday, February 3, 2008.

car   Parking Brake Linkage And Cable problem of Saturn VUE

The car involved is a 2003 Saturn Vue. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was 5GZCZ43D53_. Squeak noise intermittent when first obtained vehicle. Adjustments made periodically under warranty ( to dashboard etc. ) noise seemed to go away but always came back. Noise became louder, and more like a creaking noise, when at low speeds or over bumps when brake is not being pressed. Took Vue in while under 49,700 miles, visual inspection found front stabilizer links to be noisy. I declined them repairing it as they would not replace fro free or discount, even with such low mileage, and noise has been present. I stopped taking it to the dealer after warranty was up as they have a reputation in town to not work with the customer. Lateral links were already replaced under warranty, I feel the stabilizer links should be replaced free also, with such low mileage. I will take it to a mechanic and have it down, for my own safety, but I feel I deserve reimbursement for that as well as the front and rear brakes I just had put on and front wheel bearing! I also had to replace all 4 tires on car due to wear, and car had less than 4500 miles on it. The failure date was Saturday, Sep. 16, 2006.

The car was a 2001 Volvo V70xc. The VIN of this vehicle was YV1SZ58D21_. I was recently told my 2001 v79xc needed ball joints, then sway bars and someone else said struts! also: I have had the car diagnosed, the system reported throttle module errors and electircal or circuit problems; throttle module cleaned, then replaced; headlights replaced 3 times (wiring causes shorts); gas filter replaced two junes in a row gas propelled out of the tank back at me upon pumping (something about air intake line was clogged), the brackets underneath the car are totally rusted not stainless steel! I had the cooling fan replaced, car overheated into the red! I too have had little time to enjoy my car. The e brake sticks in the winter, because the coating on the lines/cables is cracked, broken/burned due to improper suspension. My sun roof, interior lights and rear hatch door works intermittently in cold weather. The glove compartment was rattling loudly and the dealer I bought it from tried to fix it and told me I had to live with it! of course another dealership fixed it outright. The seatbelt frequently sticks and doesnt take up the slack intermittently only to get shut in the drivers door frequently, when I just about think it has corrected itself. And, there is a strange draft on the front passenger side window that gets quite cold in the winter. The seal seems fine and its another problem no shop seems to know anything about. This issue happened on June 1, 2003.
