The latches on my 1999 GMC sierra pick up truck broke in 2000 when the truck only had about 3700 miles on it. GMC corp. Has denied the problem and refuses to talk to me about fixing the problem. It is a really bad safety hazard since they could break at any time and would slam you forward if you step on the brakes and backward when you accelerate. I ask the dealer about fixing it but they refused, saying it would cost $600. 00 or more just buy the frame for the seat. So it has been tied with bailing wire ever since to hold it in place. Is there a recall?. This problem occurred on 01/26/2000.

I was taken in an ambulance to scott & white hospital where I underwent extensive surgery, and a three week stay (my family and I live in forney, TX). The vehicle having this issue was a 2006 Infiniti M35. Not exactly sure when the driver's seat broke, but it was leaning into the center console and I felt I was not centered on the steering wheel. car   Seat Broken problem of Jeep Grand Cherokee

The vehicle involved was a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. VIN of the vehicle was 1J4GW48S34_. The drivers seat bracket holding chair has broken from regular use. While parked, I leaned back in my seat and a bracket on the front left that connects to the frame holding chair to the floor broke. This has caused the seat to become more of a rocking chair, wobbling back and forth. To my surprise a defect such as this does not warrant a recall. I wish Chrysler addresses this problems that seems to be common among some of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. If the drivers seat breaks loose from the floor during an impact or rollover, the driver could easily be thrown from the vehicle while still strapped in his/her seat. The problem seems to get worse making the car unsafe to drive. This issue happened on Jan. 2, 2014.

car   Seat Broken problem of Mazda MAZDA3

The seat broke completely free from the mounting brackets at the two from mounting points. Upon insepection the welds on the mounting bracket snapped clean off. Due to the sudden reclining motion my neck was extremely sore from the sudden and abrupt rearward reclining motion this caused. If this were to happen on the highway to a person who is shorter then myself, loss of the control of the vehicle is very possible. Once I was able to reach my destination I notified Mazda who claims they have never heard of such a problem. Upon further searching the internet I found many other Mazda 3 owners are having the very same issues. I purchased the car brand new in July of 2009 and it has been maintained. car   Seat Broken problem of Mitsubishi Outlander

The vehicle involved is a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander. 3rd row seat broke the fabric has given away there is no support or any type of cushion for your butt. All there is , is the metal frame structure and when you fold the seat back to store it, it wont stay down, doesnt latch so when your driving any bump you hit or on the freeway the seat rattles and bounces up and down, I feel this is a big safety hazard, we will not let our kids sit back there anymore, also it hurts them to sit on that seat, we took it to the dealership on 5-2-2013 and they told us Mitsubishi considers it to be trim and wont do anything about it, as far as the latch to hold the seat down when it is folded they said thats the way it is, it was never like that until the day my 15 yr old daughter sat back there and the fabric tore underneath and she said the seat didnt feel right, when I looked at it and tried to fold it back down the seat felt sloppy like somthing broke mechanical wise, im upset cause thats why we bought this vehicle it has three rows of seats, Mitsubishi dealership said its a temporary seat not to be used all the time. There is nothing that stats its a temporary seat or a weight limit anywhere on the vehicle or in the vehicles manual. . . . . Please help. This issue happened on Wed., Apr. 17, 2013.

Mitsubishi claims that the anchor is broken and that it is non warranty. I guess Mitsubishi don't care about keeping their seats anchored to the car for the safety of its riders. The failure date was Monday, November 21, 2011.

car   Seat Broken problem of Saturn VUE

I bought a Saturn Vue hybrid in September, with in two hours the driver seat back lumbar mechanism feel apart when a car parked to close forced me to worm my way in the door. It was fixed several times and Saturn of libertyville, using slip ties to finally hold it together. With the help of Saturn customer service I went to another dealer, parts are on order. My back being broken three times rear ended stopped at lights, my back did not feel good riding in the broken seat for a month. Saturn tells me all warranties etc. Are void if I have a safe seat, recar othodeic, I will not ride in an unsafe seat when it is so easy to correct the problem. If any person gets rear ended at more than about ten mile per hour they will have back injuries. Having attended college for me. Bs. And ee. Bs. I will not be played for a fool by any car company. car   Seat Broken problem of Subaru Outback

The vehicle involved is a 2012 Subaru Outback. We owned the car only 2 days and was out for our first drive owning our first brand new car. Things seemed all good until we stopped at a bank and I put my left foot on the foot rest and pressed my back into the seat to release the tension in my pants so I could pull out my wallet when all the sudden catching me by total surprise the seat gave way. A shock went up and down my spine as I got out of the car in awe of what just happened an the condition I was in I had to sit in the passenger seat to see if it was just a fluke or is this a real problem and I just got the worst of it. With a little pressure leaning back in the seat for a few moments and snap all these seats can be broken. I was doing great and now everyday I have nerve problems and back issues I have never experienced in my life. I am height weight proportional and actually a little on the thin side. The dealership and Subaru of America swore this never happened before. Google and youtube "Subaru Outback lumbar support broke" I found problems going back to 2008!! I asked them to buy the car back but they "bent the clip a little extra" as a fix and insisted I take it home. It broke again while just driving 40mph down the road normally so I convinced them by talking to the owner to give me a trade up to the electric seat. Little to know the passenger seat is the same seat as in the basic model. I own the premium now and I will do a report on it as well as I have owned many foreign cars and not one seat has ever broke on me. Toyota seat holds up to anything I put it through and I have 300k miles on it!!! same with my Honda civic. Both bought used. . . Please make them fix this problem! I beg you. I hope no one else ever has to deal with the pains I have had from this along with stress explaining the situation to the dealer and due to such a simple little clip and stupidity. This problem occurred on Monday, Apr. 2, 2012.

car   Seat Broken problem of Subaru Forester

The car involved was a 2009 Subaru Forester. The VIN of this Forester is JF2SH66669_. I am 195 lbs and began entering the vehicle in my garage and sat down on the drivers seat and heard a sound from the bottom of the left front side of the seat. Felt that the seat was lower than the right side as well. Inspected to find that the front left bracket that supports the bottom of the seat had broken. It appears that two very small welds hold the bracket to the seat and both had broken and are unable to sufficiently support the seat. Attempting to raise and/or lower the seat does not work as well since the left front side cannot function correctly. It was 01/16/2013 when this seat broken issue occurred.

car   Seat Broken problem of Audi A4

The car was a 2007 Audi A4. The car had a crash. The VIN of the problem A4 is WAUEF78E67_. Purchased car from elk grove Audi as a certified used vehicle. The seat broke and no airbags deployed. I was at a stop light with one truck in front of me also stopped. A chevy tahoe doing approx 45 mph hit me from behind, she moved over at the last minute so she did not hit me completely from the rear, she ended up hitting the back drivers side and then down the side of the drivers side. I was pushed into the truck in front of me. One of the officers asked if we had purchased the car used since the airbags did not deploy. Car was totalled - during the process of the settlement on the car the insurance company informed us that the car had been in an accident before. When we went back to Audi about it, they claim they had no knowledge of the previous accident. The reason we do not believe that is because the mileage on the accident claim is exactly the same as one of the service visit to Audi 5 days after the claim. It was Jan. 19, 2012 when this seat broken issue happened.
