car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Chevrolet Colorado

The vehicle having this issue was a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado. The initial condition that caused concern: hard shifting. To move the shifter between any two positions required higher than normal force. This condition alleviated instantly after approximately one month. The force required to move the shifter became normal again. No sounds or other unusual things were observed. The only differences from before the condition until the current condition is the transmission will not go into park, and will only start in neutral. Current condition: the truck will not shift into park. When attempting to put the vehicle into park, the shifter will move enough to allow removal of the key, however, the transmission will not engage park. Because of this, the vehicle is always free to roll. The only way to keep the vehicle from moving while attempting to park is to use the emergency brake. This vehicle is currently both highly inconvenient to drive and highly unsafe. Items: - I have found blogs referencing this issue back to 2004. I know this experience is not unique to this vehicle. It was March 3, 2014 when this transmission not engage issue happened.. Read more...

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Chrysler 300C

The car involved was a 2006 Chrysler 300c. Most of the time, the engine will stall at a stop with all gauges dropping to zero. This also happens when the car is moving down the roadway. Engine does not start smoothly. Most times it takes at least two attempts to start it. Sometimes upon restart the gauges remain at zero. Upon start, engine will run for a brief time and will run maybe 1 block or so before stalling again. It will run without incident until the next episode. There may be a spread of 3 to 4 weeks between incidents. Sometimes the engine speed jumps up without accelerator input making the car leap forward. This has happened once to me. Sometimes when the engine is restarted and put into gear, the transmission does not engage immediately, but after a very brief delay causing a "jump" into gear when it does engage. The esp bas light comes on a majority of the time this happens. Sometimes the gauges all drop to zero while the car is running. Almost always, I can feel in the running of the engine that something is not quite (almost imperceptive missing) right before this happens. I took the car to a Chrysler dealership immediately after this happened and asked them to read the codes. They told me many codes had been recorded. This problem occurred on July 5, 2011.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Dodge Ram 1500

The car was a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 1C6RR6KG5D_. One day I was backing out of a parking space and when I turned the shift knob on my 8-speed auto transmission v-6 from "reverse" to "drive" the gear would not engage. When I applied my foot to the accelerator the rpm's increased as if I were in neutral. During this occurrence the "d" on the shift knob was blinking. After turning the knob back to park and then back to drive the transmission engaged and I was able to pull away and drive normally. On a different day about 2 weeks later I noticed that while in "drive" and traveling between 15mph and 30mph my transmission seemed to be in the wrong gear. I would apply the accelerator and the rpm's would increase upwards to 2500 - 3500rpms which should not be happening at such low speeds. My truck then began to shutter as it was trying to find the right gear. This truck is a 2013 with less than 1000 miles on it. I have read a similar post on this NHTSA website about this same vehicle. I have also read an article posted on motortrend. Com that references a transmission recall for various 2013 Chrysler vehicles' including the Ram 1500 with 8-speed automatics and a six-cylinder engine. Strangely, when I look up recall notices for this vehicle there is no recall alert for this problem. This issue happened on Sun., Feb. 2, 2014.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Ford Five Hundred

The vehicle was a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 1FAFP23165_. On the interstate headed towards denver, after about an hour, when to accelerate from about 70mph to ascend up the hills, the engine rpms accelerate, however, it feels that the transmission is disengaged (slipping) with no power to the drivetrain resulting in a drastic loss of speed. This happened numerous times in efforts to regain control and maintain speed. This was extremely hazardous as traffic was somewhat congested, and other drivers are expecting me to accelerate, however, vehicle was in a decelerating mode. This was only with light pressure to the accelerator. It sounded as if the gears had stripped in the transmission. We turned around and headed home, auto would not allow speeds over 60mph. Later the same happened at speeds of 35-40 on local roads. These transmissions are extremely dangerous. Ford knows of this problem and refuses to do anything about them. This issue happened on 05/17/14.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of GMC Envoy

The car involved was a 2003 GMC Envoy. The gear shift selector cable became disengaged from the transmission while backing out of a parking spot. According to my mechanic, there is a small plastic bushing that became brittle and fell off causing the failure of the cable to maintain a connection with the transmission. This caused my transmission to become locked in the park position and unable to be moved into any other drive. While I was in a safe location, I'm concerned that other drivers in similar situations will become stranded in locations that are not safe. I conducted a recall search and found that this item has not been recalled. I placed a call to general motors and lodged a complaint. According to gm, they have received a number of complaints about this issue but are not issuing a recall at this time. I asked gm to provide me the number of complaints they have received about this and they declined to give me that information. I am seeking to file this complaint, have it reviewed, and determine whether a recall should be issued for this vehicle. It was Aug. 17, 2012 when this transmission not engage issue occurred.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Acura MDX

The vehicle involved was a 2002 Acura Mdx. Driving on the freeway, transmission disengaged and engine revved up to red line. Car had no power and lost speed. Close call with other vehicles, including semi trucks. Had to pull into far right lane and was only able to go around 30 mph since the car continued to rev and the transmission engaged and disengaged. Engine light came on and d5 light on dash started flashing. Took it to a mechanic who said transmission needs to be replaced. In investigating, this appears to be a common problem with this model year. Car is worth $6500 in good shape, but with this issue, it is now only worth $2000. It was Friday, Sep. 13, 2013 when this transmission not engage issue happened.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Honda Accord

The vehicle involved was a 2005 Honda Accord. While driving on the interstate my car lost power from the engine. The rpm's went higher but there was no power even though the engine continued to rev. There were no warning indicators on the dash to try to understand what was happening except for the rpm gauge. The transmission had completely disengaged just as if it were in neutral even though it was in 'drive'. The scariest part was that I was stuck in heavy traffic driving at highway speeds at night during a rainstorm and there were no visible warnings to observe other than the tachometer and sound of the engine revving up. I understand now that the transmission has started to fail prematurely due to overheated transmission fluid and needs to be replaced at a high cost. This problem occurred on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Hyundai XG350

I have a 2004 Hyundai Xg350. Many times when I leave the car overnight (or for a few hours) and then start it back again, the gear does not engage when I put it in drive. When I press the accelerator, after a few seconds, the gear engages suddenly and the car lurches forward. The problem persists for the first few minutes while I am driving. So when I am making a turn, again the car has to start from zero, so it wouldn't move for the first few seconds and just jump forward. This can be very risky at times, especially on turns. Once the engine is heated up, there is no problem. I have also found other people facing same issue but not fix for this problem yet. I wish a class action lawsuit could be filed against Hyundai. It was January 11, 2013 when this transmission not engage issue occurred.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Hyundai Genesis

The car was a 2011 Hyundai Genesis. Manual transmission sometimes fails causing unsafe situations for drivers and passengers. Failures include transmission not engaging requested gear, failing to disengage gear, grinding while engaging gear. Hyundai has so far been willing to replace transmission and related parts however no "fix" currently exists. Hyundai employees have been blaming drivers for causing problems even though on multiple occasions driver proven to not be cause. It is a design defect. What happens when my vehicle runs out of warranty? how about the depreciation, with a know lemon transmission?. This issue happened on Sunday, April 24, 2011.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Infiniti G37

The vehicle involved was a 2010 Infiniti G37. I had an hour drive to return home. I had driven about 30 min when I had to slow down for a traffic accident. When I tried to get back up to speed on the freeway,, the transmission disengaged. I had to put it into neutral and then back into drive to resume driving. The transmission continued to disengage about every 3 minutes all the way home. I was not in a good area to stop, so I continued putting it into neutral and then back into drive. When I finally arrived at a safe gas station, I turned off the ignition, waited about 5 minutes and turned it back on. I had about 5 more minutes to get home and it did not repeat the incident. The next day a valet parker brought me my car and when I went to put it into drive from park, the engine raced. If I had not had my foot on the brake, it would not have been good. I then called the dealership and they came and got the car. It was Jan. 8, 2011 when this transmission not engage issue happened.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Jeep Cherokee

The vehicle involved was a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Driving along at 30 when first the engine light came on, then immediately after the display said transmission and the display was lighting up with all sorts of symbols. The transmission completely disengaged and the car coasted to a stop. It would not move. Fortunately when I felt it losing power I was able to make a quick turn into a store parking lot. Had that happened on the highway I could have been killed because the car just totally lost all motion as I was driving. I turned it completely off for a few minutes and it started but with the engine light showing. I called the dealership kelly Jeep Chrysler in lynnfield and told the service department what happened. I drove straight there. . . Furious. The service guy took down the information I relayed about the incident. I told him I had read recently that their 9 speed transmission had known issues and he said he didn't know anything about that. I told him not to even tell me I am the first to report this problem and he said "maybe not in the whole country but I don't think we've had this problem here" and I told him not to speak down to me because it has been written about already as a known issue. He already had the courtesy car waiting for me and he immediately walked me out the door to the car. I was there less than 5 minutes. I know he did not want me speaking to anybody in the service waiting room as I could see people sitting there waiting for their own repairs. This is an issue that will end up killing somebody. car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Mazda MAZDA3

The vehicle having this issue was a 2012 Mazda Mazda3. I drive a 2012 Mazda I touring skyactive. While driving home about 45 mph when I was came to a street light. As I applied my brakes the transmission shifted down hard, the traction control light came on and the transmission disengaged, which forced me to pull to the side of the road. The transmission type is an electric auto/manual. With the car still running, I put the car in to manual mode and nothing happened (no power). Only after turning the car off and restarting it did the traction control light go off and the car ran as normal. This is nothing I would want to happen while on a thruway. Also, over the past few months I have noticed downshifting hard one in a while, but not enough to take it to a dealer. After to night, I will be taking my car over to the dealer in the morning. car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Mercedes Benz E350

The car was a 2012 Mercedes Benz E350. Vehicle stops accelerating while driving. This has happened 4 times. At all other times, vehicle drives normally. Problem has occurred when re-accelerating after vehicle brakes have been applied to slow down. This is an automatic transmission and it seems that the car is not downshifting or the auto clutch is not engaging to allow downshift while accelerating. It drives like it's in 4th gear when it should be in 1st or 2nd gear if it were a manual transmission. There is a grinding sound as if the clutch was not pushed in fully while shifting if it were a manual transmission. At this point the car will only go about 10-15 mph until engine is turned off. When car is restarted, it runs normally. No check engine light comes on. Dealership states no fault codes were stored and they can not fix it unless they have a fault code or see it happen. They did road test it, but it didn't happen while they had the car. They did update the software to the transmission and hope that might fix the problem. I think this is a safety issue, because it happens without warning intermittently. I asked that they call the car engineers and ask what 3 -5 parts or sensors could be causing the problem and check to see if they are working properly, but they said no. They want me to try to drive to the dealership when it happens (not possible, no acceleration) or call for service and leave the car running until someone can get there to identify the problem. If a car or truck were coming up behind me or I was trying to merge onto a highway and this problem happened, I would not be able to accelerate and get out of the way. This transmission not engage issue occurred July 11, 2013.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Mercury Milan

The car involved is a 2010 Mercury Milan. VIN of the vehicle was 3MEHM0JG3A_. The car behaves as if it was suddenly put into neutral. When you hit the gas the engine revs, but the transmission does not engage. The wrench and engine lights come on, and the car will sometimes sputter like it is going to shut off completely. The only way to get the car to function normally is to stop the car and turn it off and back on. I have had this happen on major highways and other busy roads. The problem is unpredictable. A mechanic has determined this to be a problem with the throttle body, but the part is on national back order. My car is un-drive-able. This problem occurred on Friday, May. 31, 2013.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Mitsubishi Lancer

The vehicle was a 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer. The VIN of the car is JA3AJ36E92_. I have purchased this car as a second owner as I was told. The transmission was acting funny at first and I was told that this is normal because the car was sitting for a while. The car had only 115,000 miles when purchased, the reason I bought it with low miles and appearance. Last week when it was driven, the car acted even funnier until it stalled: the car will not engage in any forward gears, it will only engage in the reverse gear. After researching the fact, I was told by many sources that the 2002-2005 Lancers had a lot of issues with the transmissions in many ways. I need to know if that's true and what could be done especially after I looked at the blogs about what's so named " Lancers". It will be a shame for a manufacturer to release a car in the market with such problem. This problem occurred on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Nissan Pathfinder

The vehicle having this issue was a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 5N1AR18U95_. Vehicle was stop at red light of very busy intersection. When light turned green the vehicle accelerated and then would only coast in neutral while transmission was not engaging. Wife and 3 children were stuck in middle of intersection. Had to turn the vehicle off and then on to get transmission to re-engage and drive. This issue happened a half dozen more times. This owner took vehicle to local Nissan dealer and was charged for computer analysis. This owner was told there was a "known" issue with transmission of this particular vehicle being contaminated from inner cooler. This owner was told that it would cost over $5500 to fix. This owner did intense research on safety and mechanical problem and found thousands of Nissan owners with same issue. This vehicle needs to be recalled for "known" issue. It was 03/01/14 when this transmission not engage issue occurred.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Nissan Pathfinder

The car involved is a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The VIN of this vehicle was 5N1AR2MN9D_. Vehical at 5400 rpm on level road would only achieve a speed of 41 mph, this was on a highway paused with a posted speed limit of 65 mph. Vehicle paused, shuttered and engine seemed to be working but transmission would not engage completely. We felt that we could have been rear ended and killed. This was three days after Nissan had replaced the transmission for shuttering at 19 mph over a six month period. After stopping several times the vehicle reacted as close to normal as we would expect, just in time to get home. We have brought this vehcle to the dealer ship for passenger side airbag light showing it was off, when it should have been on, for back up sensor acting as though off but actaully off, the smell of antifreeze and no leaks and last the brakes delaying. Nissan continued until recently stated that it was normal. There are numerious sites stating these same issues. We could have been killed, this is serious, no power on th expressway. This issue happened on Sunday, May 18, 2014.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Saturn VUE

The car was a 2008 Saturn Vue. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 3GSDL63728_. My '08 Vue will not longer shift into reverse. The transmission handle does physically go into the reverse detent but the gears do not engage and the vehicle does not move. Depressing the accelerator only increases the engine rpms. The first indication of a problem was some stuttering in reverse two days ago. There didn't seem to be any issues with the forward gears. Today, the transmission reverse gear will not engage. This seems to be a common problem with the gm/for 6t70 6spd transmission reverse gear wave plate. A quick google search revealed that virtually every gm brand that uses the transmission has the exact same issue. This seems to be a well known and well documented problem, a recall should be made. A TSB already exists for the issue, please refer to TSB #09-07-30-012b. This transmission not engage problem happened on Monday, April 14, 2014.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Subaru Legacy

The vehicle is a 2011 Subaru Legacy. When parked on a steep down slope, I attempted to back up in order that I could leave an outdoor concert where I had parked off road. . The transmission would not engage in reverse even after several attempts from park, neutral or reverse and kept drifting forward. I tried to engage reverse with the foot brake and emergency brake on and it still would not engage. The transmission stayed in drive and would only go forward no matter what I did. The car moved 1 foot forward when it was in park, emergency brake was on and the car was turned off. When it did that, it left the distance between my car and the Lexus in front of me only around 6 inches. I had no other option but to wait for the driver of the other car to arrive and drive away before I could leave. It was late at night and I was parked in a field in a county park, in another incident, I was stopped at a red light on an uphill. When the light turned green, I attempted to go forward but the car drifted backwards and nearly crashed into the car behind me. I had my foot on the brake when the light was red, but took it off the brake to accelerate the gas. The car rolled backward and nearly hit the car behind me. The transmission finally engaged after revving the engine strong and bucked forward. This car has the cvt transmission and other symptoms of the transmission problem are lurching, bucking from a rolling stop and rough idling. The local Subaru dealer inspected my car and said the transmission was operating normally and that the hill assist button would solve the problem. We do not believe the dealer's story based upon the hundreds of posts of Subaru transmission problems and are pursuing a replacement transmission. This is definitely a safety issue as drifting backwards or forwards without any control of the car will just result in a crash sooner or later. I no longer feel safe driving this car!. This problem occurred on 07/12/13.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Subaru Outback

The car is a 2001 Subaru Outback. The automatic transmission park mechanism does not engage properly. With selector lever in "park " and car turned off and ignition key removed, the car rolls. In the early years, the car rolled only slightly and finally "engaged": now, the car rolls several feet and does not always engage, requiring use of the emergency brake for all parking. Because the problem is getting worse, we searched for repair & recall information. We found that although our model & year are on the recall list for this park mechanism, our VIN# is not. This transmission not engage problem happened on March 29, 2008.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Toyota RAV4

The vehicle is a 2003 Toyota Rav4. I was driving my 2003 Rav4, entering a highway when the transmission failed to engage immediately when I accelerated. It hesitated for a few seconds then finally lurched forward. I was very nearly struck by a vehicle on the highway because I was unable to accelerate as expected. Now the rav frequently behaves oddly when shifting, sometimes refusing to upshift, suddenly downshifting at inappropriate times. The dealer advises the problem is likely a defect in the electronic control module (ecm) as covered in a TSB. From research recently I have learned that this ecm defect was a known problem beginning in 2006. I am amazed there has been no recall to repair this very serious safety issue. Now it appears I will be on the hook for a very expensive ecm replacement. Even though I have religiously taken this vehicle to a Toyota dealer regularly for maintenance, they never once mentioned this known problem. Yet when I discussed this behavior with one of the dealer's service advisors yesterday, he seemed quite familiar with this issue. Please call for a recall on this issue. It was Sat., Jan. 18, 2014 when this transmission not engage issue happened.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Toyota Prius

The vehicle involved was a 2005 Toyota Prius. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of the car was JTDKB20U25_. The electronic(?) shift mechanism in the car malfunctions/does not stay engaged in temperatures approximately 28 degrees fareheit & below when car has sat idle for periods of time. The night of this incident I was returning from a business trip where my car had been sitting out in the weather for approximately 28-30 hours. The temperature this particular day was 9 degrees; however, I have had this happen in the past with temperatures ranging into the mid to upper 20's. {due to our mild winter last year I don't recall it happening much if at all-- it did however occur the winter year prior [2010-2011] and I reported it to my Toyota dealer. They looked at me and told me they were unaware of any such problem. } when I position my shift select from the center position & select either drive or reverse, the car transmission disengages upon pressing the gas. The other night I had previously mentioned I had to physically hold the drive selector in the "d"/drive position for 28 minutes before the selector remained engaged. (in past incidents I have had to hold the selector in position from 5-10 minutes- the problem seems to get worse in rlation to lower temps. Are there any other reports of such a problem?. This issue happened on Jan. 21, 2013.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Volkswagen CC

The vehicle is a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is WVWML7AN8A_. Dsg transmission failed to engage in reverse gear multiple times. It typically seems to only occur when forward and reverse are selected multiple times before turning off ignition. Experienced one instance in which transmission would not shift past first gear, even in manual mode and which did not recur since. Multiple incidents of no reverse activation. Once the car is turned off and turned back on, the reverse gear engages. It sounds as if it takes multiple attempts for reverse to engage upon restarting the engine. This problem occurred on Jan. 18, 2014.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Volkswagen Beetle

The vehicle was a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle. Purchased this vehicle from a dealership in del ray beach florida on October 2011. The dealerships name is autobahn/USA (1800 north federal highway, del ray beach, florida 33483). The vehicle was purchased "as is", with no extended warranty. According to the dealership there was no issues with said vehicle at the time of purchase. This vehicle was then driven back to the state of michigan where I reside. I have experienced the transmission issues reference this vehicle from the start. It appears when slowing down the transmission disengages feeling like it is jumping gears. I have talked with a Volkswagen dealership in bay city, michigan, and a Volkswagen dealership in grand rapids, michigan. Both stated that the year of vehicle I purchased had a recall for the transmission. They also noted in order for the recall to be valid, I needed to have purchased an extended warranty. I have just over 60,000 miles on my Volkswagen Beetle. I believe that this faulty transmission can be a danger while driving. I am attemting to repair said transmission. I am a little confused when Volkswagen is stating there was a recall for the transmission for the years 2004 and 2005, and they would only honor the recall if I purchased there extended warranty. Please advise. This transmission not engage problem happened on 07/01/2012.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Volvo V70

Vehicle identification number (VIN): YV1SW58D11_. I had just purchased my 2001 Volvo V70 used from a reputable dealer when my wife noticed that the transmission would occasionally "slip" in and out of gear. I did not drive the car very often, so I did not experience the problem for another month or so. When you take you foot off the gas to coast or slow down for a turn the transmission completely disengages. When you push on the gas expecting to continue to keep going the engine revs - because there is no transmission engaged- and then suddenly "slams' back into gear. This condition has been with us now for several years. The car has been to the Volvo shop twice and they claimed there were no codes showing up on their test equipment. . . And by the way that'll be another $300! I've learned to baby the car, and drive with this dangerous condition because I know a new transmission for this car would cost more than the car is worth. After checking with edmuds, I have come to realize there are dozens if not hundreds of people out there with the exact same problem as mine, and Volvo appears to either be clueless, or not willing to do anything about it. My car has been acting this way since I purchased it with only 70,000 miles. This transmission not engage problem happened on 09/20/2007.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Audi A6

The passenger side floor of our Audi A6 kept filling up with water while driving -- even though it was not raining. There was no drain in the floor to allow the water to exit, so we bailed it like a boat and finally punched a hole through the floor with a screwdriver. However, shortly thereafter the car stopped dead in the middle of the road: the brakes locked and the transmission failed to engage regardless of what gear it was placed in. By repeatedly turning the ignition off and then on again I was able to engage the transmission briefly and move the car three or four feet at a time until it was off the highway. My passengers and I were understandably frightened as there was traffic coming from both directions and we were unable to do anything about it. The car was flatbedded to the nearest dealer where ultimately it was diagnosed as having a clogged air conditioning cowl drain which caused condensed water to accumulate in the passenger floor and which ultimately shorted out the transmission and brake control computers which are located in the center tunnel. We were told that it was routine for Audi dealers to inspect this drain for clogging, yet there is no mention of the need or importance to do this in the owner's manual, how to do it, or the implications for failing to do so. Our car has been serviced by an independent repair shop for some time and therefore this service has not been performed. Diagnosis of the problem and replacement of the computers will total approximately $4,000. 00 none of which Audi USA feels is its responsibility. Immediately prior to the shorting of the computers we were traveling south on I-95 at speeds in excess of 70 mph in heavy traffic (with two inches of water on the floor. ) had the computers chosen this time and place to malfunction my entire family and I would likely be dead or severely injured. I believe action should be taken to remedy this dangerous design defect. Thank you. This transmission not engage issue occurred Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of BMW 540

The vehicle involved was a 1997 BMW 540i. Incident #1 2010: accelerated the vehicle to 75mph to enter freeway. Took foot off gas and vehicle continued to accelerate. Engaged clutch to stop acceleration and rpm continued to rise to the limiter point (approx 5500 rpm). Pulled over, started car and engine immediately went to the red line. On inspection, a plastic part on an accelerator cable had cracked, causing the accelerator to lock in the fully open position. If the clutch had not been engaged (I. E. If this car had an automatic transmission), this could have resulted in a collision and possible injuries or fatalities. Incident #2 12/2/2012. Started car and pulled away from curb. At about 3-5 mph the steering wheel locked. Stopped car, turned off ignition and started it again. The wheel unlocked but there was an audible clicking sound within the steering column. Carefully drove about one mile to house and turned off engine. Steering wheel locked again and car could not be started. The wheel locking while the car was being driven was a condition that could have resulted in a collision and possible injuries or fatalities. The failure date was 12/01/2010.

The vehicle is a 2008 Buick Enclave. Once or twice a week my Enclave continues to roll another 5-7 feet after being put in park and the key removed. The accident occurred when I was unloading groceries from the rear passenger door. The vehicle moved forward and ran over my foot. I have a 100,000 zero deductible warranty, as well as gm's powertrain warranty, but still zubor Buick in taylor mi wanted to charge because they couldn't find a problem. Since my injury, I took it to another dealer today, red holman in westland. They couldn't find a problem either. It looks exactly like the recall with the 2009 Enclave NHTSA campaign #09v073000 (on some of these vehicles, the transmission shift cable adjustment clip may not be fully engaged. If the clip is not fully engaged, the shift lever and the actual position of the transmission gear may not match. With this condition, the drive could move the shifter to "park" and remove the ignition key, but the transmission gear may not be in "park". ). This issue happened on Thu., Mar. 1, 2007.

car   Transmission Not Engage problem of Cadillac SRX

The vehicle having this issue was a 2011 Cadillac Srx. I have a turbocharged Srx. I was attempting to make a turn onto a road, as I hit the accelerator, the vehicle hesitated for a significant time, as if the transmission was disengaged. After a second or two, it suddenly engaged. Additionally, there have been times when I attempted to quickly increase speed, and felt significant hesitation. This is especially dangerous when pulling on to a road with high speed traffic on it, the vehicle is unresponsive to fast acceleration. Sometimes there is even a revving, and a sudden "bang" as the transmission engages. I spoke to the dealer on several occasions. I was told this dealership did not sell the turbocharged version of this vehicle because of this issue, and nothing could be done, but they were aware of it. The service manager indicated he had one other vehicle like mine serviced at his facility which had the exact same problems, but they could do nothing. Ot sure of the percentage of 2011 Srx's with the turbocharger, but I expect it is low, and was discontinued in 2012. Not having the ability to accelerate especially in front of oncoming traffic behind you is inherently dangerous. It was 12/18/12 when this transmission not engage issue occurred.
