car   Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The vehicle is a 2003 Chrysler town and country. We purchased a new vehicle assuming that the lights would be at least the same as previous vehicles. Upon taking the van home and driving it at night. We noted that the dash and door switch lights weren't functioning. We went back to the dealership and looked at another van (assuming that it was a 2003) on which the lights did work. We took the van in to the service personnel to have the lights repaired, but they told us that these lights were no longer functional on the 2003 vans. We have notified the dealership owner and Chrysler's telephone complaint line about this. The answer to our complaint has been that Chrysler "decommissioned" the light function for cost savings. I consider this a convenience and safety concern, since you must fumble around in the dark to find the switches or to turn on the vehicle lights. Dt.

car   Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of Dodge Ram 2500

The car was a 2006 Dodge ram2500 megacab 4x4. Truck was purchased used with 16000 miles. At approx. 20000 miles, an anomaly with the turn signal occurred: a "left" turn input resulted in a "right" turn output to the signals (assumed front and rear). This was initially unnoticed by the driver, as traffic conditions were dense. Upon beginning the left hand lane change, a check of the left mirror revealed a car overtaking on the left. Upon review of the turn signal, it was observed that left and right turn functions were reversed. As this event occurred in dense traffic, the driver was forced to nurse the truck to the side of the road and attempt to rectify the problem. Actuating the high/low beam control (on common turn signal stalk) rectified the problem for the time being. The truck was returned to its home address and then was driven to the dealer to demonstrate the problem. The dealer entered the problem into the system and a replacement control assembly was ordered. The dealer made no attempt to retain the truck due to potential life safety issues associated with the defective signal device. The turn signal subsequently failed in traffic, resulting in a minor parking lot accident. The truck was returned to the dealer and left there by the owner. Upon installation of the new controller, the truck was driven from the dealership and sold. The dealership indicated that they had replaced 4 or 5 controllers in the 2005 series trucks and at least one in the 2006 series. This turn signal flasher unit issue occurred Wed., Jul. 19, 2006.

The car involved was a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500. The VIN of this Sierra 1500 is 2GTEC19V54_. My 2004 GMC sierra would light all four turn signals when the left turn signal was applied, as if the hazard lights were on. Took it to dealer and they said they had never seen anything like it before. Paid almost 200 dollars to get it looked at and fixed. After going home, I see that other sierra users have the same problem. More shocking, I see that gm had the exact same problems with some envoys, barbados, trailblazers, and others, and performed a safety recall at no charge. It is outrageous that all vehicle owners with these problems were not notified and the faulty components replaced. Have been trying to get in touch with gm about this and they have yet to send me anything but carbon-copy e-mails and runarounds. This problem occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006.

New vehicles turn signals are red in color and seem to have become more difficult to determine the drivers intentions during inclement weather situations. What ever allowed this change from the amber/yellow color of the turn signal to the current red color on newer model vehicles is a wrong decision, in my opinion, on the part of a drivers saftey while operating a motor vehicle. This issue happened on Wednesday, March 9, 2005.

car   Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of Hyundai Tiburon

The vehicle is a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon. While driving 50 mph, the contact activated the driver's side turn signal. The light remained solid and did not flash. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for further inspection and they determined that the relay and the body control module failed. The repair would cost $956. A week later, while driving with the cruise control engaged, the cruise control suddenly disengaged without warning. The contact noticed that the speedometer dropped from 70 mph to 0. After a couple of seconds, the cruise control returned without warning. The manufacturer stated that no compensation would be provided because there were no recalls. car   Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of Hyundai Tiburon

One week after purchasing a used 2003 Hyundai Tiburon I was preparing to make a right turn and pulled the turn signal on. After exiting the turn, turn signal stayed on . Flasher relay attached to bcm fused not allowing the bulbs to turn off even after turning the vehicle off. Only temporary fix for problem is to remove fuse from circuit, in-turn disabling both turn signals and hazard lights. Permanent fix is to replace bcm, fuse panel, and main power junction on vehicle, this costs near $1000 to repair and for those that can't afford that amount are left driving without turn signals or hazard lights creating a safety hazard for themselves and others on the road around them due to the fact that they cannot inform other drivers of lane changes or turns. This may result in accidents, tickets, or failed safety inspections. I contacted Hyundai and the representative I talked to knew of the problem. After researching this on the internet it appears to be a common problem, there have been many post about this issue and none have had solid solutions without disassembling the computer and replacing the relay that is sodered to the main computer board. This turn signal flasher unit problem happened on Oct. 15, 2007.

car   Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of Jeep Wrangler

The car was a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. Sirs, I have some general concerns, and could not find another area on the web site to address them: I can not understand why the same lights that mark brake use, also mark turning. When someone is tapping brakes and has turn signals on, it is unclear what their intention is. I also do not understand why we have running lights on all the time. I have to dim my rear view mirror to avoid being distracted by these lights, which defeats the purpose of these lights.

car   Turn Signal Flasher Unit problem of Mercedes Benz C230

The VIN of this vehicle is WDBRN47J92_. I leased a Mercedes Benz C230 compressor for my daughter in 2001. The sun roof didn't slide back on the exterior or the interior. The dealer dismantled the sun roof. Mercedes refunded the first month's lease payment since she did not have use of the vehicle for the first month. After one year the sun roof needed additional repair. At 31,000 miles - the power steering failed the brakes failed and were replaced the differential broke the sun roof once again wasn't working. . . The interior sliding mechanism failed for the third time in 2 and 1/2 years. The check engine light came on because the coolant sensor failed, the car overheated but the sensor registered cool. Currently at 37,000 miles - the transmission had to be taken apart because it wasn't shifting gears. The motor on the driver's power window broke and had to be replaced. The left turn harness had to be replaced because the flasher broke. While they were fixing the transmission they somehow damaged the rear window and the rear windshield is now being replaced. The check engine light is still coming on occasionally. Mercedes ceased to manufacture this vehicle in 2005. My daughter spoke to the regional rep. , he was unresponsive, rude and hung up on her. I have lost confidence in this vehicle and I have every reason to believe that it will continue to break down and jeopardize my daughter's safety. The engine could break down because of a defective sensor that they cannot seem to fix. The incident date that follows is the date of the most recent problem . . The transmission and the rear window. The VIN of the car is 3N1CB51D82_. The 2002 Nissan Sentra ran fine for the first year. There were no major issues concerning the electrical system. In 2003 I noticed the turn signal would occasionally not work. For the last 4 years it still does not work correctly. The problem is very intermittent. It may work properly one day and not the next. Normally you will flip the turn indicator and nothing will happen. Then if you turn the steering wheel it would start to work. Sometimes it will not work no matter if you turn the wheel. Even when it does work the signal does not blink at a normal repetition. On two occasions I took the car to a dealer to get it fixed under the warranty. Both times I was told that it was a sensor and that problem was fixed. However, it still did not work properly. This issue happened on April 1, 2004.

First time they have seen on 9-5 model. SAAB will not replace assemblies. Dealer suggested checking other assembly which I did and found plastic broken on this assembly as well. In addition, the bracket which holds the screw to retain the lamp has broken as well. This is a premature failure of required safety equipment. The failure date was Aug. 15, 2001.

Did not know at the time this was a recall issue and dealer said nothing wrong with it. After third time, demanded action and then they said, "OH, it's on recall" and replaced latch. Problem was would not work in cold weather, would freeze up so the latch was either stuck when closed or if you opened up the rear door, it would not close. Next item was fuel vapor leak into car. Dealer fixed but created problem with the fuel gauge. Gauge would not indicate less than 6 gallons. Ran out of gas three times before figuring that out. Dealer replaced part/all of line or sensor in fuel system. The failure date was August 1, 2001.
