car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Chevrolet Silverado

The vehicle involved was a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado. Several times while driving at various speeds the stability control warning light would flash, the door locks would cycle and the gauges would stop working. After a few seconds the warning light would go off and the truck would return to normal. I took the vehicle to the dealer and I was informed that both battery cables had high resistance and needed to be replaced. It is ridiculous that battery cables need to be replaced at 62000 miles. The service adviser made a comment that this was a common problem but it usually happens while the vehicle is still under warranty. This vsa warning light on problem happened on Thursday, April 17, 2014.

Its good for a week or so and does the samething again. They claim this is the only Cruze they ever heard of doing this. car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Chrysler 300

The car involved is a 2012 Chrysler 300. I came to a stop at a four way intersection. I accelerated to turn at about 5mph instead of the car turning the steering locked up for about 1-2 seconds. Then drove normal until I got to my destination which was a few minutes away & turned the car off. I got off the car & went into the store. Went I finished shopping I returned to the car & tried to start it up. It would not start & steering wheel & brakes were locked. The power steering light, stability control & brake lights would blink & say service engine. About an hour into this I tried to turn the car on. It turned on but the steering wheel was barley turnable I tried to move it a few inches. For the wrecker service personal once I moved it the cars steering was back to normal & working. I plan on taking it to the Dodge dealership tomorrow morning. I just really hope this does not happen again while driving at a high speed. It was Thursday, November 28, 2013 when this vsa warning light on issue occurred.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Chrysler Town & Country

The car was a 2008 Chrysler town and country. 3 occasions driving my 3 children to school my town and country became unresponsive. The steering failed, breaks and the car went unresponsive. The electric stability control warning light came on. To remedy, I had to put car in park, and restart vehicle. The last instance when this occurred I rolled into a four way stop as my breaks did not work. An online search has shown many other have experienced this issue with the Dodge caravan and Town & Country both made by Chrysler. Took van to dealer who said diagnostic test showed nothing (other people report this same experience). They updated the pcm software. I find it hard to believe a software update would render my car safe to drive and be the factor that caused it's whole system, brakes included to shut down. This issue needs to be looked at. Mini van drivers carry children!. This problem occurred on 05/15/13.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Dodge Grand Caravan

The car involved was a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving down the road the car loses complete power--steering, brakes. Electronic stability/traction control light comes on. Very scary/dangerous situation. I am usually able wrestle it to side of road without any power steering or power brakes. After getting the van to a stop and shutting off the ignition, the van will fire right up and not have any problems for a few days. Then it happens again. I have had it in the shop numerous times to try and diagnosis. No luck. . . . . I've replaced batteries, wheel bearings, you name it. Any advice??????. This vsa warning light on issue occurred May 18, 2012.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Ford Explorer

The car was a 2012 Ford Explorer. The vehicle identification number (VIN) of this Ford Explorer is 1FMHK7D9XC_. On Friday April 18, 2014 my wife an I prestarted the car to go to dinner, after only 2 minutes the car shut of. The mileage at the incident was approx 45,500 but the complaint says 44,000 because this is the second time it has done this, and the first time for the stability control light to illuminate. car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Ford Escape

The car involved is a 2008 Ford Escape. Driving down the road, turned down a busy street, wheel locked up. Completely frozen, took an incredible amount of strength to turn into a parking lot to safety. Restarted car and it was fixed. Happened again later that day going down the highway, steering wheel locked. (it's like I have no power steering at all, but it is all electric). The wheel has continued to lock at random times, with no warning what so ever for 20 (twenty!) more times, I have documented them all. Nothing provokes this happening, like turning, going up or down hill, slow speeds, nothing, it just happens out of no where. This is extremely dangerous, numerous times I have been in very heavy traffic with no outlet available for me to turn into. It has happened waiting at a stoplight in a turn only lane, but I can't turn the wheel. It has happened again while in the middle lane of a busy highway and I've had to very forcefully angle the wheel so I could get on the shoulder. The wheel unlocks after you restart the car. My stability control light turns on every time the wheel locks. I have done research this is a known problem, hundreds of complaints and Ford is doing nothing about it. From what I have read, you have to replace the entire steering column (a $1,300 fix) due to a faulty switch. This is extremely dangerous and I could very easily wreck if it happens in a bad time or bad location. I have had numerous very close calls already and I am afraid to continue driving every day. Ford needs to recall this immediately. This vsa warning light on problem happened on 12/21/12.

2008 GMC Acadia- steering problems!!- 65,000 started noticing power steering loss when slow turning sometimes. . . Off and on. . . Then got more often and much worse. . . Replaced rack ($300). . . . . Problem still not fixed. . . Next trying to replace power steering pump ($$ yet to find out). . . Recall on headlight- socket melted and replaced. . . . Airbag light continues to come off and on. . . Traction control, stability track, and airbag light come off and on randomly. No sound. . . Took to GMC dealership, they told us it was the radio. Replaced radio($450), still didn't work. Dealership stated amp blew and needed new amp ($400). . . Thought it was the amp the entire time due to the cd player working visually, but no sound in entire vechicle for any electronic feature. Shifting randomly when going down highway. Gas mileage horrible-- about 14 to 14 . 5mpg-- much worse than when we first got it at 48,000. . . Love the look and when it works. . . . Why is there no recall will the power steering?? come on GMC step up and do the right thing already!!!. This vsa warning light on issue occurred Monday, May. 20, 2013.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of GMC Terrain

The vehicle involved is a 2011 GMC Terrain. The engine or fuel system show a severe malfunction. When at a stop light, the rpm's drop so much that it shuts down sometimes, some others, it barely stays on. I called the dealership and told me that it was not a warranty covered repair and that I had to pay for the diagnostic plus whatever was wrong to repair (parts and/or labor). All of the sudden, now the "stability trac" check light goes on an off without apparent cause. I feel like I'm driving a vehicle from the 1950's. It's a great looking comfortable SUV, but very disappointed with performance and fuel consumption. This vsa warning light on problem happened on Mar. 12, 2012.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Acura MDX

The vehicle having this issue was a 2005 Acura Mdx. VIN of the vehicle was 2HNYD18935_. The brake will apply on its own and the brake lights will not come on because you dont press the pedal which would trigger the brake switch to turn the brake lights on. This is a very serious issue as it has happened to me numerous times at high speed. Note I sent to Acura during the uncommanded brake issue, it describes the issue etc. . This is <my name>, I had brought my 2005 Mdx which I bought new from you back in 2005 in for the uncommanded brake application issue on Feb 10th 2010. As you know when this issue happens the brake applies itself when my foot is on the gas pedal and sometimes the vsa and ! light come on and sometimes they do not. On the 10th I drove the car with you mechanic and we had a brief experience of the issue but because of traffic I had to apply the brake and when my foot was off of the brake it still applied itself and then released and then applied again without me touching the pedal. The most serious of the issues is when my foot is on the gas and the brake applies itself. On that day your mechanic did a bunch of tests from the service manual for dtc 66 & 68 including: -- "the jiggle" test to see if something was loose and would trigger a code -- battery test for voltage -- ground connection to body clean and reset -- vsa connector was taken off and put back on -- codes were reset there is more but the length is greater than allowable maximum of '1,901'. This problem occurred on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Acura MDX

The car is a 2003 Acura Mdx. While driving the vehicle the vsa light came on and vehicle started to make weird noise (by the gas and brake pedal) and then the vehicle would stop by itself. Call the dealer and they say it was due to the tire being in a puddle of water for a long period. It rained today and my vehicle was parked outside but the puddle of water was no deeper than 1 in. I was very fortunate that they were not any vehicles following behind me when the car stopped all of a sudden. Please advise and check the issue with the vsa system since there are a lot of threads on google and yahoo search engine in regards to problems with Acura's vsa system. This is not the first time this incident had occurred. It was Jun. 25, 2009 when this vsa warning light on issue happened.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Honda Civic

The vehicle involved was a 2012 Honda Civic. There was crash involved with this Honda Civic. First time driving this car in light snow. At the top of a hill, I turned left to traverse the hill to take a side street, following my CO-workers. The Civic slipped - just a bit- and the vsa light lit. I immediately lost all throttle control, brakes were wildly activating (seemingly 1 at a time), and the steering wheel was jerking. I was going very slow when the Civic took all control away from me. I could not apply any throttle to pull out of a very minor slip and my car accelerated sideways down the slope into a curb which destroyed the right front wheel and suspension. I have spent $1125 so far to repair the damage and have not replaced the tire & wheel yet (another approx. $600). I told the 2 Ford dealers who performed the repairs about this incident and neither gave it any thought. I requested they turn off the vsa system, both refused. I can not think of any reason, in the real world, any car should take complete control away from the driver like this, especially for such a minor occurrence as a slipping wheel. If a semi was behind me, there would have been no way for me to get out of it's way. It was just dumb luck I hit the curb where I did vs. Tobogganing into opposing traffic or picking up even more speed by continuing further down that hill before the car crashed. I have this incident on dash cam. It is at night, and not great, but it does plainly show what happened. Out of all the cars that drove that route, mine was the only one to crash and it was absolutely due to the vsa taking control away from me and not allowing me to drive my car. This problem occurred on Sun., Feb. 9, 2014.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Honda Odyssey

The vehicle is a 2005 Honda Odyssey. While driving during rush hour traffic the vehicle suddenly without warning began to apply the brakes and the engine idled down then temporarily seemed normal only to have it reoccur in a matter of seconds. The vsa light including the symbol and the initials vsa became illuminated. I turned the car off and restarted it multiple times only to have it reoccur over and over again. I had just had the catalytic converter replaced for a second time two weeks prior to this happening. I was told by the dealer that in replacing the catalytic converter the service crew punctured my radiator and had to replace that as well. I had the car towed to the dealer who told me the vsa senor control cluster needed to be replaced. They said that they had never seen this before. They indicated that the part would take a week and a half to get the part which seems very strange. The cost for the part is $500 and the installation will be $276. 25. car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Mazda MAZDA3

The car was a 2012 Mazda Mazda3. My car is an automatic transmission. I was driving in traffic on the highway (about 20 mph) and noticed that when I pressed the accelerator, the car did not accelerate or shift normally. Instead, the car stayed in low gear, and the rpm reached over 4000. At this point, I noticed. The stability control light on the dashboard was staying on, indicating a problem with the car's stability control. Once I reached a place I could stop, I turned off the car and restarted - the problem appeared to have gone away - no more light on the dashboard and no more weird engine speeds/failure to shift gears. I am concerned about this because it seems to be a common complaint both on the NHTSA site and on Mazda forum websites. I believe an investigation into this problem is warranted, as it represents a definite safety risk, affecting the car's ability to accelerate appropriately. It was 06/06/13 when this vsa warning light on issue happened.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Mazda MAZDA3

The vehicle having this issue was a 2012 Mazda Mazda3. I was driving home on a busy highway but luckily crossing at an intersection with lights. I turned left and it was as if my car went in neutral. I hit the gas and I didn't go anywhere. I had to glide to the side of the road as cars were beeping at me. I noticed that the stability control light came on. I regularly turn left at other sections of this highway where there are no lights and you just have to go when you can make it through quick. What if this happened then? I would have been hit my multiple cars going very fast. The dealership said the computer needed to be reset and it should be fine. "should be fine"! I have a family and bought a new car so we are safe then this happens and I hear "should be fine". This problem occurred on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Mercedes Benz ML320

The vehicle involved is a 2001 Mercedes Benz Ml320. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 4JGAB54E21_. I have a 2001 Ml320 in which the electronic stability program (esp) system light came on. While traveling at 70 mph, the brakes were applied electronically and the car came to a stand still. It was fortunate that I did not have an accident because the brakes caused the SUV to veer in another lane. Mercedes claims that their demonstration to the NHTSA that the systems applies the brakes for less than 0. 3 seconds but that is untrue and it has happen three times with my vehicle (see pe07-007). I have replaced the sensor but yet the problem still exist. This defect will eventually result in death. The only way to resolve this is to get mercedes to fix this flaw and recalled all affected cars. It was Saturday, July 25, 2009 when this vsa warning light on issue occurred.

car   Vsa Warning Light On problem of Toyota Camry Hybrid

The car involved is a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. I was driving on street that had several potholes in both lanes. Lanes were blocked by barrels because of the roadwork being done. There were too many potholes to Dodge and none seemed significantly bigger than the rest. Since I was unable to swerve, because of traffic going the other way in the lane beside me, I hit a series of potholes. After the last one, which seemed a little bigger than the others, I heard a beep and the display read, "check vsc," which I know from the last time this happened means "vehicle stability control. " the parking brake light seemed to come on at that time. I could not get the car to roll any but instead had to hit the accelerator to move at all. The brake was not as powerful, so I had to be sure to brake in plenty of time. The steering seemed more restricted also, and there was a high-pitched buzzing that continued all the time unless the car was off with all doors shut. I live close by, so I was able to get my car back home but did not think it was safe to drive it to the dealership. I had aaa tow it a few days later. They told me at the dealership that a part of the anti-lock brake system would have to be replaced. They later found that one of the lines involved in keeping the engine cool was leaking and the water pump had to be replaced. It was 01/25/14 when this vsa warning light on issue happened.
