22 problems related to turn signal have been reported for the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu.
2nd cylinder is misfiring and something seems to be leaking antifreeze, causing my engine to overheat, which I see is a large issue in chevy Malibus. My turn signal/hazards also don't work 85% of the time, which is a recall for my make, model, and year (Chevrolet, Malibu, 2001) but not my VIN number. Another issue I see is my left headlight shines out from the side, which I also saw to be an issue in several of the same models of my car. Keep in mind I bought it recently, used, so the date I noticed the issues was fairly recent.
Theft system keeps coming on can't start car comes on while I drive, turn signal has a mind of its own works when it wants to,rpms go up real high while I drive and when it park, take foot off gas pedal but car seems to speed up kind of hard to stop a car that speeds up when not giving gas to it, break lights don't work when turn signal doesn't work all this happens as I am driving down the road with my to small children and of course in my driveway when the car doesn't want to start as it thinks I'm stealing my car with the key theft system break lights don't work when turn signal won't work excels in speed on its own all started in March 2016 as I just bought in February 2016.
Turn signals work only sometimes.
Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph, the turn signals failed to engage. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 130,000. Kmj.
The turn signals on my 2001 chevy Malibu stopped working then they started working again they seem to be intermittent and sometimes pushing the four way flasher will make them work again its a constant problem and never knowing when your turn signals will work is very annoying and quit dangerous.
I own a 2001 chevy Malibu LS 6 cyl. This year has 670,000+ cars recalled for the exact same problem I am having and the exact same year. Yet because my VIN isnt included or enough people with my VIN have not reported the problem. . I am discluded from having them fix this for me. My turn signals are not working, they will not flash, click or go on as of recently. This is a safety hazard that gm did recall for my car year and type, yet I am discluded because of my VIN, so my life. . Does not matter? because. . . Maybe only a few hundred have had the same problem? this is a known recall with my type of car, and I am in danger here. . . I called gm 2 times 8/8/2011 I was told there was nothing they could do for me, simply because of my VIN. . . Ummmmm how about include my VIN!!! my life matters just as much as anothe others and if I am having this problem and reporting it, then include the VIN. . For the safety of others as well!!! half a million Malibus from 2001 were affected by this recall. . . What makes them think mine wasnt?! please help. . I am a college student and I am driving a car with no turn signals and I have to pay for text books and now dealing with a safety hazard because gm does not want to recognize the recall. Please help. . . ! is your file number, where you guys have the recall posted: 03v327000.
Front/rear turn signals lights failed to work. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
Turn signal failed intermittently.
The contact stated the turn signals work intermittently, and they seem to be getting worse. A local mechanic looked at the vehicle. There was NHTSA recall 03v327000. But, this vehicle was not included due to VIN. This has been happening for approximately two years. There have been no repairs for this problem at this time.
For the last three months the turn signals on my 2001 Chevrolet Malibu have worked intermitently. On several occasions I had to miss making a turn due to someone tailgating me and my turn signal not working. I didn't want to risk getting rear ended. I was told by the service department at the Chevrolet dealership that it probably was the hazard switch which I had replaced. Why isn't the replacement of this switch not covered by a recall. I requested the defective switch from the dealer and I have it in case gm wants it.
The turn signals stop working at times. You never know when you get into the car whether they will work or not. There must be something wrong with the flasher or something. I have seen other complaints about this on the Malibu on the internet.
Intermittent turn signal failure of a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu.
The turn signal light malfunctioned.
Left turn signal stayed on causing stop lamp electrical wires to burn. Consumer had to replace fuse box.
I purchased this vechile and within a month of the date of purchase the turn signals began to work intermittently. They continue to work intermittently and sometimes suddenly begin working once they have been turned on and make a loud noise, sounding a warning noise which does not go away until you turn the signal off. I would say that my turn signals only work 25% of the time and would like to get a resolution/recall as this appears to be a common problem that should be corrected by the manufacturer at their cost.
The turn signals work intermittently. There is no rhyme or reason for when it works or does not work. This is very dangerous when wnating to make a turn and not knowing if the turn signals are functioning.
Turn signal works sparraticly, sometimes working after pressing hazard light button.
Turn signals work intermittenly. At times, turn signals go completely out. Contacted dealer, and dealer stated if turn signals work in shop they can't fix problem.
While driving and upon making right or left turns signal light went out. Consumer put the signal light on and it went off intermittently. Took vehicle to dealer several times. However, the problem recurred.
A 2001 chevy Malibu , 40k miles, sporadically the turn signal quit working, I have searched your site & seen where they was aware of the problem, but why no recall. & it did not discuss what gm did to correct the problem.
The consumer stated the turn signal worked sporadically.
The turning signals failed to function when windshield wipers were used. Dealership replaced multi functioning switch. Also, passenger's side seat belt catches, but wouldn't release.
