Door locks don't unlock the doors trapping occupants inside the car. Manual or electrical don't work. Modules are defective, and manual lock pull does not work either. Vehicle could be running or not running-still does not work. If you roll down the window and try the outside handle, still does not work. Solenoid, in the doors make a sound like the doors unlock, but they don't. Maybe one in the back will work, but very difficult to get out of the car. Your stuck with no options to get out. This is a very sever safty issue and needs to be address. Tried to but the car in drive, and back into park and turn off the car multiple times with no luck. Tried to rock the door lock switch does not help. Believe the modules are defective. Door pulls for unlocking the doors should still work, even if the power was lost. They do not. Tried while the vehicle was moving and stationary. Because I was stuck in the car, I went around the block wondering if it was a charging problem. It's not, after going around the block and pulling back into the drive way, they still did not work. When car was turned off and tried to unlock the doors still did not work. Had to check the back door and found it finally worked. Had to crawl over the front seat and crawled out that way. Was stuck in the car for 25 min. Could not do anything.

The driver's side door latch screws are backing out. This is causing the door to become unlatched from the door frame and cause the door to open during driving conditions. This also allows water to enter the passenger compartment.

I was backing up and changed my gears into drive, turn the steering wheel and foot still on the brake, car just jerked and took off and I ended up hitting somebodys van. When I tried to hit the brake all the car did was sped up so right before I went out in the driveway uncontrollably, I had to pull up the park brake just to stop.

I went inside a car wash and when my car was been wash the water was getting inside from the back roof next to the back window I told the dealer but they want me to pay for a diagnostic when it has something to do with the car issue. My water pump is not working can not use it in case of an emergency on the road can not clean it using my windshield wipers.
Vehicle was in motion driving on a city street while I was making a left turn onto another city street my steering wheel locked up which enabled me to straighten up my wheel. Due to not being able to straighten up my wheel after steering left I was involved in a car accident knocking off my drivers sides headlight and front bumper completely off of my vehicle. After getting the car back home the car would no longer start. The vehicle is now at capitol cheverolet in austin texas and before replacing the recall parts they insisted on a battery replacement I did replace the battery and 3 days later they call and insist on an alternator replacement that will cost me $800 in order for them to start on the replacement/ repairs of the recalls. The battery and alternator all were working in good condition before the power steering issue came about while my vehicle was in motion. I should not be reliable of paying for this. The dealership is also charging me a $65 towing fee!.

We had a down pour 05/20/2018 in kissimmee, florida. My vehicle had stand still water in my trunk, the water seeped through to the interior damaging the rear seats, water covered the floor, there are stains on the roof and the smell of aged water is throughout the entire vehicle. My vehicle was parked and unoccupied, the trunk was closed and the windows were up as normal as my vehicle was parked for the night.
The passenger door of my vehicle will not open. The automatic lock appears to be working but I cannot open the door. This also happened to the drivers side door a few times but thankfully I was able to use the actual key from the outside to open it. I have read reviews where this is common in this vehicle. This is an extreme safety hazard and I cannot even get the door fixed because it wont open. Please consider making this a manufacfurer recall.
The car trunk pops open unexpectedly. This has happened several times. It popped open overnight in the garage. It popped open when I was inside a restaurant.

At random occasions, the front door latches will not work. Last November, the front passenger door did not open even after attempting to open it manually and using the power door lock switch. This morning, I had two issues with the driver door. First, it would not shut until after I used the button to manually lock the door ("used" meaning I pulled it up and pushed it down several times in quick succession). Then, after I parked my car, the driver door would not open until after pushing the button up and down several times, using the remote a couple times, rolling the window up and down, and pushing the button up and down again. I wonder if humidity and/or moisture may be affecting the doors' ability to function, as it had rained and/or snowed on both occasions; however, the weather has not affected the doors on other cars I have used to such an extent. The issue with doors not opening/shutting as expected has been documented by other 2008-12 Malibu owners on various websites and should be investigated immediately.
Back window is leaking water into the interior and inside the headliner. Noticed after heavy rains as well as when using the car wash.
The 3rd break light (above rear windsheild) is leaking into my vehicle and trunk. This is a hazard for electrical failure to the break light, as well as the growth of mold and or rust in the vehicle as well as the trunk and spare tire. During rain the passengers become soaked with water.
Check engine light came on said reduced engine power. Also water was leaking into the car from rear brake light.
Tatata recall car fills with water, trunk and floor boards.

Tl-the contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that water is entering the vehicle from the high mount brake light which is causing water damage and mold in the head liner, trunk and back seat of the vehicle. The dealer bergstrom Chevrolet of madison 1345 applegate rd, madison,WI was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not covered in their extended warranty. The manufacturer was also contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 88,000. Am.
The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. While driving various speeds, a squeaking noise was heard coming from the rear of the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to lou bachrodt Chevrolet pompano beach (1801 w atlantic blvd, pompano beach, FL 33069, 954-590-0196) where the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred several times and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The technician took the rear end apart and lubricated the parts, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

The car was parked and I was exiting my vehicle. I pivoted to close the driver side door. I accidentally did not have my leg fully clear of the door. The wing tip edge acted like a shovel and took out a piece of skin on my leg as I closed the door requiring stitches. I was using a normal amount of force to close the door and was shocked at the damage the door tip did to my leg. It went through the skin layer down to the muscle. I believe the wing tip design of forward car doors are a safety hazard and risk for injury. Please consider making the edge more rounded like the rear doors. The files I am including are from the day of injury (11/11/17) and after stitches (11/13/17).
Rear window leaking while raining or car wash. Several complaints from other owners as well.
