When using cruise control the car's rpm and speed increases temporarily. . . . Then returns to its set speed on its own.

I bought the car last April 2016. Shortly after my cruise control was hard to turn on, had to keep hitting the button. So the dealership said it was the switch and replaced it free of charge. Now it's Aug 2017 and the cruise control sometimes turns on and when it does it only stays on maybe 10 min or less and then kills on its own! the speed drops quickly and this is unexpected and can be dangerous. This happened while I was driving on the highway. I specifically bought a car with cruise control, I love it, need it and use it regulary.

Power steering repeatedly goes out while driving. Blinkers only work sometimes. Cruise control does not engage. I lost power steering going down a busy highway.
Headlights and front blinkers quit working. When I went to change thenergy-saving lights the connectors were melted and wires were exposed. The orange lense on the drivers side has melted and is disconnected from the fixture and is lying inside the light inclosure. The lights and blinkers quit working as I was driving the vehicle. I cannot drive the vehicle at night because I am afraid to have the lights on for fear of possible first hazard. The cruise control stopped working around the end 2016.

My brake lights stay on when I am driving the car. The cruise control will just stop working and the car of course slows down at this point. Yesterday the low traction and eic light came on. This has been going on for several months with the brake lights and cruise control the low traction and eic problem just started yesterday. I have read page after page of complaints on this same thing happening on this model year make of car. I have had to take my car in for several recalls but I have not seen one on this particular issue. My car has 138,000 miles on in it and of course this happens while it is in motion on the highway road street etc. It could not happen if the car was not in motion. This is a scary thing to be driving your vehicle and pray your going to make it to where you are going without a crash.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. While the vehicle was stationary, the transmission malfunctioned. After shifting gears to either the reverse or drive positions, the vehicle would not accelerate. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle lunged forward on more than one occasion in the direction of which gear was engaged. Langdale Chevrolet in sylvester, georgia was contacted about the auto stop feature malfunctioning as well as the transmission. Prince Chevrolet in albany, georgia was made aware of the issue, but was unable to determine why the cruise control, the auto stop feature, and the transmission had malfunctioned. Parker Chevrolet in ashburn, georgia was made aware of the series of failures on may 8, 2017 and stated that the failures could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was 10,785.

My car was involved in a previous Chevrolet recall for the same problem about 2-3 years ago. The cruise control does not engage all the time when on interstate driving and works sporadically. Also the brake lights work in reverse where when you are driving at low and high speeds, the brake lights are on but when you apply the brake, the brake lights go off. Also, you have to apply the brakes hard to get the lights to come on. Just a slight tap on the brakes does not turn on the brake lights.
Repairs were completed a couple of years ago on this vehicle from recall id 14v252000, however, my vehicle has recently experienced the similar symptoms as described on the recall. The service traction, service esc and esc off warnings display on the dashboard unpredictably. This happens whether the vehicle is idling or in motion. When the warnings pop up the brake lights are illuminated without depressing the pedal, the brake lights turn off briefly when depressed, however, when the brake pedal is released, the brake lights come back on and remains on. Also when the warnings are displayed, the cruise control disengages, and I'm able to shift out of park without depressing the brake. Turning the key off resets the warnings, but the warnings and symptoms return again - sometimes immediately and other times it may take hours of driving. I'm concerned that the original recall repairs did not correct the problem.
Break lights stay on when not depressed cruise control will not work recall was completed tookk car back break senser was replaced on 6/16/16 as of today 6/26/16 problem is still there cost of 287. 20. My car was recalled and fixed on 3/17/15 for the cruise control cutting out and the brake lights coming on. It was fine until a month ago and it started doing the same thing again. I took it to smith Chevrolet in gallipolis ohio and they reset the computer, this did not help. Now they tell me they need to replace module 02560 part # 25861370 and sensor 04625 part # 13597430 at a cost of about $410. 00. I fill they did a patch job last year and now want me to pay to fix it. If I pull the electrical system and plug it in and out a few times everything works fine for a couple of weeks. I have contacted Chevrolet and my reference # from them is 8-2180763999. James at phone #866-790-5700 ext 5913683 is trying to help me. I can't drive around with my brake lights on all the time, it is not safe. I got pulled over by a state trooper once last year before it was repaired.
In 2014, general motors' recall #13036 was serviced by Chevrolet dealership who said problem was corrected. In June 2016 the problem has reoccurred. While in motion the brake lights come on without pressing the brake peddle; the cruise control disengages; and disablement of traction control and electronic stability which could increase the risk of a crash. All occur while vehicle is in motion on city streets and highways.
Recall fix failure - the recall fix was applied by the dealership for the 'brake lights may or may not randomly illuminate' issue, NHTSA action 13005, however it is only temporary. After a few months the identical symptoms occur at the same frequency. No new symptoms are present and no previous symptoms are absent. These include; brake lights illuminating with no pressure on the brake pedal, brake lights turning off when pressure is applied to brake pedal (including holding the brakes at a stop), cruise control failing to activate, traction control turning off, esc turning off, and vehicle gearing down (as low as 3rd gear at 60 mph before intervention) to assist by engine braking. Most symptoms occur at standstill as well as city and highway speeds. The dealership's stance is that, once a recall is applied, the ticket is closed and is the vehicle owner's responsibility to cover the cost of further fixes.
I was driving at 60 mph in cruise control on a straight road. An ambulance was heading towards me so I stepped on the brakes to slow down and pull over and the car accelerated very quickly. This was a very dangerous situation because I was moving towards the shoulder of the road because of the oncoming ambulance. I had to turn off cruise control to be able to apply the brakes. The brake lights are also not coming on when I apply the brakes. The problem with the lighting happened previously and was repaired on 04/28/2015. I thought the problem was included in recall #13036 but I was told that it was a problem with the brake switch and was not part of the recall however when I look up the recall numbers on my vehicle this recall number does not show up as still needing to be done. I paid for the repair and I am now having the serious problem of the brake lights not working again plus the even more serious problem of the brakes not working when I am in cruise control. I do not know how to proceed with having this problem corrected. The recall problem has not been repaired correctly or there is another problem that is occurring. I have attached a copy of my receipt of the repair that was done on 04/28/15.

In December of 2014, a Chevrolet dealer performed repairs to address NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (I had not experienced any problems related to this issue at the time). Recently I have been experiencing the symptoms related to this recall, including the "service esc" and "service traction" messages, the brake pedal requiring extra pressure to get the vehicle out of park, and the disabling of cruise control. I have not had the opportunity to check if the brake lights also exhibit the problem described in the recall. The problem has triggered while I'm braking, as well as when I was at highway speed with the cruise control engaged, without applying the brakes.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. While the cruise control was set to 60 mph, the vehicle began to accelerate without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact also stated that the brake lights became inoperable intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000.
Esc service light comes on intermittently, brake lights are illuminated 100 % of the time, and cruise control doesn't work. The dealer did the recall a year ago and now I have these issues. Replaced brake position and reprogram for $140 but didn't fix. Dealer now wants to replace abs modulator valve, bcm, and abs control module for 1450.
A dashboard light came on ( t/c ) and disabled my cruse control while driving. The next day, my transmission seem to stop in second gear, even when accelerating. I cannot turn the t/c on with the console button or engage cruise control. My transmission is now shifting hard into second gear. . . Still no cruise control or t/c this has been occurring approx. 1 1/2 weeks mostly highway driving, clear skies and no water on road. The t/c light comes on when I shift from park to drive and will not turn off.
Brake lights were working in reverse after recall repairs were done so chevy charged me full price for diagnostics because they said that the recall repairs were already done, so there was nothing they could do. We replaced brake switch. A month later problem persisted, chevy dealership charged $50 for relearning brake position, even though that was all supposed to have been fixed in recall repairs. Brake lights are still not working properly and the traction control/esc light is on, and cruise control doesn't work. I am now taking it back to dealership and they are charging me an additional $50 just to take another look at it. I feel I shouldn't be charged for any of this since it all should have been taken care of during the repairs done for recall #: 14v252000. This is a dangerous manufacturing error that gm should be acknowledging and repairing at no cost to the owners. I know I cannot be the only one suffering this issue especially after reading numerous customer complaints online.
Cruise control would not disengage until I hit the brakes hard enough to activate the esc. Recall #14v252000 covered this problem but gm says my VIN was not included. This is a definite safety issue and needs to be expanded to cover all Malibu manufactured during the recall time frame.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the cruise control became inoperable and the traction control warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 49,604.
Starting before may 2015 and lasting until 11/19/15, the yellow warning dashboard lights, gauges, and dic would occasionally go berserk while driving. The first time this happened, I was on an interstate around 8am in the morning in may of 2015. At the same time during these episodes, the shifting of the automatic transmission would be jerky. The lights would "settle down" after long enough, but some combination of lights always remained on at the end of the episodes, such as the traction control light, check engine light, security light, and abs light. The car would seem to return to normal sometimes after being restarted. I had a Chevrolet dealership check it out in 5/15/2015 and they found nothing. Sometimes during these episodes, the power steering would also lose power. The problem returned and I had a mechanic check it out and he put in a new ignition switch 11/19/15. The car has not gone berserk since then, but the power steering does not always work reliably and the check engine light came on once, but went off. The coolant temperature gauge has failed to work twice since then too. The cruise control also temporarily stopped working.
