I just bought the car a week ago and now the service air bags light came on. Also the timing chain is making a weird noise. I took it to the mechanic and sure enough there is something wrong with air bags and timing chain.

"takata recall" I recently purchased a 2012 Chevrolet taverse with 35,000 miles from supreme Chevrolet Cadillac of plaquemine on 5/23/2016. The engine light has been on for a little over a week now, the "service airbag" shows on the dashboard, the airbag light is on, the steering wheel alignment is off, the passenger window power button on the driver side want roll the window down at times, their is a noise when the air is on and also when I turn it off, and gets worse when I move the steering wheel. . My car was parked in my driveway when I noticed the lights for the airbag and engine, it was in motion when I noticed the button for the window, the steering wheel alignment was off, and the noise being made. Their was a recall on 2012 Chevrolet Traverse in December of 2015 and earlier in 2015, im not sure how long a recall last but if I am gonna pay almost $41,000 for this vehicle I would like for not only myself but my 3 children and fiance to feel safe riding in it. While driving my airbag indicator light on dash came on & message (service airbag) not sure if this is linked to any of the recalls for the airbag system or seatbelts. Current mileage is 42516 & have not yet got appointment w/the service department to have it checked. The light comes on as soon as I turn the key to start & stays on until the vehicle is parked & turned off. The light is on the highway, roadways, & at idle. It worries me in case of an accident the system may fail. (note: its best if you contact me by email).
Service airbag light comes on for passenger seat. Seat pressure sensor malfunctioning, doesn't recognize passenger.
My service airbag light came on, and then would go off and bag on again. I took it to a dealership and they said that drivers side airbag was bad and I bought my car about 18 months ago brand new. I was 10,000 miles over warranty, so the dealership said that it was not covered and I had to pay for the repair. An airbag issue is not a wear and tear issue! now 3 weeks after having it serviced my service airbag light is on again! I have 3 small kids in my car every day and I am worried to be driving it. I think that gm should take care of this issue!!.
The airbag light continues to come on, there is, per the seller no problem and the 36,000 miles and 3 years is past so I have to pay to try to figure out the issue, meanwhile I have no idea if the airbags are even working!.
Service airbag light is on for about 2 months an I have called dealership an gm complaint place they did a diagnostics an said it was a problem an would cost me 400$ this vehicle has never been in an accident I keep manitenaince on it . It has also been in for seatbelt safety problems. The paint is peeling off the door in the back that lifts up . The safety light goes off if I choose check system but comes back on on the read out it said some kinda connector needs to be replaced.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer for a air bag recall repair. The contact stated that the air bag light came on after the repairs. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the right side impact sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 66,000. Fe.
Service airbag light came on, on the dashboard panel . . Took my vehicle to haley auto mall in farmville va . They diagnosed and found code b0015 and charged me to fix it . History: I purchased a certified used 2009 Chevrolet Traverse on 10/22/2013 with a service contact. The vehicle has 44339 miles. Present: a few days prior to my car being serviced before a road trip. I notice what turn out to be a red air bag service light symbol on my dash board that stays on when the car is running. On June 9th 2015 at 6:30 am I dropped off my car to the chevy dealer's service department. At 12 noon I called service to get feedback about my car; I however, had to leave a message requesting an update about my car. I received a call from the service department after 2:30 pm. She stated that there was no communication with the s. D. M. Module and that they would need to check further. She stated that to check for the trouble it would cost close to $600 and if they had to replace the smd it would cost me $980. 80. I asked why I should have to pay to have a defective or damaged air bag serviced or repaired especially when it be in safe working order. The next day I spoke with a supervisor at my job who said that he has the same car, same year and the same color as my car. He had the same exact problem with his car while it was still under warrantee. He said that his car was in the shop on multiple occasions with multiple dealers they never could find out what caused the air bag light to come on. He said finally the air bag light went off with no explanation after being service at a different repair shop for a different problem. Now the side air bag was recall for not working properly. How can I find out about the defective air bag associated with the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse? or how many times this car has been in the shop for the air bag or the historical problems associated with the Traverse. I took my car for service on 2/20/2015 and the next day the service airbag lights came on stayed on even after I turned the car off and back on. The next day it didn't come back on the following day which was 2/22/2015 it came on and again and stayed all day. On 2/23/2015 didn't come on at all then came back on again on 02/24/2015 and remained on until I wrote this complaint. I called my dealer and they gave me an appointment for 2 weeks on 3/12/2015 if something is wrong with the airbag I'm not safe and my warranty may no longer cover it at that time being this is my only means of transportation.

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that when the ignition was turned to the on position, the front passenger side air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a wiring defect underneath of the front passenger seat and the wire connection needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. Sg.
Since buying this vehicle, my service airbag light has been on. I've taken it in three times to the dealership I purchased it from and once to another dealership to no avail. My tire light /warning also continues to show despite the dealership not finding a problem.

The service airbag and seat belt reminder light intermittently is coming on on driver dashboard. Happens with passenger is in the front seat. The passenger and driver were both bucked up. Took it to a service center and there are no codes stored. System is checking out with pass when it is checked. There are no fail indicators. Both recalls have been repaired with the seat belt and the airbag system wiring harness and the issue is still recurring.
Over the past couple years the vehicle "check air bag" light has come on multiple times and a warning indicator on the dash indicating someone has not buckled their seat belt. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership at least 5 or six times for the same problem and they have been unable to correct the problem. Most recent repair attempt was 1/4/16 and I have an appointment scheduled for 2/1/16. I have reached out to the service manager, customer relations rep and most recently corporate (case# 8-1796822227). We purchased the vehicle new but have not felt safe in it since this first started happening. We try to minimise use but have 5 grand children that we regularly haul around. We don't really recall when the problem first started. Again we do not feel this vehicle is safe and believe it should be reported and looked into.
Around June 8, 2013 vehicle dash board shows air bag service required and air bag service indicator on, also notice while sitting on passenger seat, passenger air bag indicator shows off . Contacted to dealer and got repaired after paying $107 on June 10,2013, which was charged for new fuse . Again same issue accrued on August 19, 2013 contacted dealer. Owner contacted on August 22, 2013 Chevrolet customer department through onstar representative, from her no satisfied answer received and they mentioned there is nothing problematic in vehicle model history.
The service airbag light was on. Took it in to the dealer. They replaced the front seat outboard seat back airbag. June 5 it went back in with the airbag light on again. They fixed a connector in the driver seat side airbag. Oct 18 it went back in with the airbag light on. They replaced the front seat anchor plate tensioner. Dec 31 it went back in with the airbag light on. They replaced the module and harness assy. Feb 12 it went back in again. They replaced the wiring in passenger and driver side airbags. March 17 it went back in again. They offered me a new car.
Traveling approximately 55mph we were hit on the rear passenger side damage to the rear passenger tire well and rear right side on the body with extensive damage underneath. No airbags deployed at anytime in the vehicle. It was taken to the dealer's collision and repair shop and after several weeks it was returned. Within a week of getting it back the service airbag light came on, we took it back to collision repair center thinking it was an issue with the accident but the collision repair sent it to the dealership saying it was a warranty issue. I've taken this vehicle back 4 times now for the same service airbag light. Dealership service department supervisor keeps telling me it's an issue with there not being a grease needed on the sensors and that they apply to each sensor as it comes up, now on the 4th trip back service department manager claims that isn't correct and it has nothing to do with the issue. Each and every time I've taken this car in I have specifically asked if this is a safety issue and if it means my airbags are not working correctly every time I've been told, "no, your airbags are ok, there is no risk to you or your family. " dropped car of for final research into this issue since light came on again this week and service manager tells me that yes it does mean my airbags are not operating properly and there is a safety issue here.
While driving car started to spit and sputter like not getting enough fuel. Then while turning the air bag light came on and the stability control light come and the check engine light flashed never stayed solid. The check engine light then quit flashing but the air bag light is still on. The stability control light stayed on until I turned the car off, I then turned it back on and the stability control light was not on.
The air bag light goes on and off and now just stays on. We took it back to the dealer and they claim to have checked it many times - still nothing.
I bought a used fleet 2009 Traverse and the airbag light comes on constantly. I didn't pay much attention to it, but now it's really aggravating me. I took it to the dealer but they wanted to charge me for checking it. I told them that I had mentioned before but the light had turned off again so not much attention was placed on it. This is a big concern for me. Also this vehicle has the habit of rolling back when I park or on a slight incline this is scary!!!!!.
The service airbag indicator randomly comes on. There are a couple of error messages "service airbag" or "service passenger airbag". We have repeatedly taken it to the dealer but despite trying they have been unable to fix the problem. Chevy has issued two technical bulletins indicating that common devices like cell phones in the front seat may interfere with the sensors. The critical question is whether the airbags are working properly or in the worst case the cell phones are DE-activating the airbags. The dealer has been unable determine whether the airbags are working properly when there are cell phones in the car and/or when the service indicator lights come on. This is the car used by my 17 year old daughter to drive herself and my son to school and I want to be assured that the air bags are working correctly and that the only problem is with a false service indicator. Can you help get this assurance from chevy?.
