My vehicle started making a scrubbing noise with the steering wheel as I was driving and this noise got even more noticable as I made any turns . I stopped and cked the power steering fluid and it was !t full level. Now it makes a wooing noise as well. Also upon starting off from a traffic light or stop sign I experienced a terrible jerking sensation with a knock sound. The van has been serviced for reg maintenance over the years and deemed mechanically ok ,other than a few reg matienance issues and my sister sold me the van in good condition . I am concerned with this steering condition now as well as the slow start jerk/knock. It has only been serviced thru the years at Chevrolet dealership. Mainly in marion, va. Chevrolet. Both issues occured while vehicle was on the road and running. I am concerned she ,my sister may have missed a recall notice at some point. Now I am the owner of the Uplander 07 van.

This unit when steering input to the left makes a humming noise synonymous to the steering knuckle recall bulletin. When I took it to the dealer for diagnosis they asked for serial number that I provided and they stated my unit is not up for the recall and now what is my recourse?? I have spouse and 3 toddlers and commute daily at 110 km per hour for over 300 km. I am quite worried and afraid if something should fail mechanically as the noise is from the drivers side and puts us in the direct line of oncoming traffic for a potential head on collision and the dealer reps were not at all sympathetic or concerned and just brushed me off without offering an option at the very least. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

There is a noise in the steering column as you turn the steering wheel. I have 2008 Uplander and my daughter has a 2007 Uplander and both vehicles are making the same noise. Chevrolet repair shop says cost ot replace the steering rack will be $750. My vehicle only has 49,000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander. The contact stated that while driving, he felt a buckle in the steering wheel while turning. The contact stated that he would hear a noise coming through the steering column. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the steering box was not greased properly when it was manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 35,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Soon after the purchase of the van I had a problem with to much play in the steering and noise in the front end. I took it back to the dealer and they said they could not verify the problem, so we went back numerous times ,finally in 4-20133 they replaced the steering shaft. It seem to be okay for a while but after driving about 2000 miles it was loose again. My warrantee has ended so the dealer says I have to pay for another shaft. How many times should this be replaced to be considered safe? has anyone else had this complaint?.
Steering somtimes very very hard to turn. Power steering also makes noise. My wife was driving and she told me she could hardly even turn the steering wheel. She said she was scared that it might happen again.
