2000 Chrysler 300m. The consumer's husband was driving and heard a knocking noise. Vehicle stopped running. Vehicle had to be towed to dealer, who stated that vehicle needed a new engine. Incident occurred on September 23,2005. Chrysler dealer determined engine failed internally. The results in damage was apparent from connecting rod protruding from oil pan. Chrysler proposed to replace faulty engine with a Chrysler remanufactured long block engine. The engine will cost $6,100. It was 09/23/05 when this engine knocking noise issue occurred.
