The contact owns a 1998 Chrysler Concorde. The contact stated the brake and power steering lines were covered with excessive rust. The contact stated the power steering malfunctioned due to fluid leaking. The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic in order to have the brake and power steering lines replaced. The contact also stated the ignition switch was faulty which made it possible to remove the key when the vehicle was turned on. The contact did not notify the manufacturer of the failure. The contact stated the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 152,000.

In April 2005 owner put key in the ignition switch and it got stuck. The key would get stuck more and more often, then wouldn't turn at all. The key would get stuck in the ignition, allowing the car to be left with the key in it. Once the key was stuck in the ignition for weeks, and had to be repaired by a locksmith. The locksmitih advised consumer that this was a common problem with these type of cars. It was a 1999 Chrysler Concorde. The problem returned becuase the key sometimes getting stuck. Owner could not turn the key over. If consumer fiddled with the key it will turn over. Dealership advised consumer that the pin inside the ignition interlock broke off and then it wont work anymore. The ignition switch was eventually recalled 04v021000, but dealership advised that it was not related to this problem with the ignition.

While traveling at 55 mph all of a sudden the vehicle stalled. Took vehicle to dealer for check up, and results showed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced again for the second time. The consumer stated that the speedometer started having problems. The heater started having problems.

Connecting pin on shifting bracket is broken which allows key to be removed from ignition switch without vehicle being in park . Please give any further details.
