Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic where the contact was advised that the catalytic converter had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, the contact was advised that the part needed to complete the repair was on back order. The failure mileage was 90,000. The current mileage was 91,000. Kmj.
On Jan 16, 2012 car missfired on an incline several times within 12 miles, then stalled upon turning right. During the return trip, missfired several times in an incline. Stalled backing out of a drive way. Engine light came on. Took the car to mechanic and the light register the cam shaft. Replaced it. During another incident two days later on Jan. 29, 2012. The car again miss fired on an incline then promptly stalled - not on the turn - during the incline. Had to wait several minutes for the car to start again. The miss firing has been occuring for at least two months intermittantly. I got it checked with the engine light came on, but the replacement of the can shaft didn't correct the problem. The first stall occured on Jan 16, 2012. The engine light is back on after the stall today. After researching this issue, it seems that this is not just my car, but many Pacifica's have this problem. I'll be notifying Chrysler dealer tomorrow. I'm am very concerned about this issue. I do not feel safe in this car.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact was driving 60 mph as the vehicle exhibited an unusual violent vibration in the front end. The check engine light was illuminated and she pulled off the roadway and shut off the engine. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where she was advised that the number one fuel injector was fractured and leaking fuel into the engine valve. The mechanic advised that the engine would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 77,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. While driving at an unknown speed, the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. She could not turn off the light because she lost control of the instrument panel functions. While accelerating, the vehicle began to jump. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the motor mounts were failing. The dealer ordered the parts for the repair, but they are on backorder. The contact has not yet received a price quote. She is in the process of notifying the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 44,000.
This has happened three times now (today being most recent). Chrysler Pacifica's engine completely shuts off when taking a left or cutting across traffic to left going at a slow speed. This is extremely dangerous and we have a toddler who we are concerned when we drive in the car. Dealer has run reports and checked car out twice and found nothing. No codes pull up despite the fact the engine light comes on and the system dash says "perform service. ".
2005 Chrysler Pacifica, started having problems at 50,000 miles. Abs sensors had to be replaced and recall for fuel module. . . But most upsetting the car stalls at low speeds or while making turns. . Pulling into parking spaces, etc. . I have brought it to dealership and like many others without engine light on they cannot duplicate problem, therefore we are sent on our way with no fix!! I have 4 children and I am terrified to drive this car!! why wont Chrysler stand behind these vehicles!!!.
The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. While backing out of the driveway at 10 mph, the vehicle stalled. When in reverse, the vehicle goes forward. The engine warning light illuminates and the handling fails. The dealer stated that a minimum 4-hour diagnostic is needed to identify the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 99,500.
Check engine light at approximately 40,000 miles. The check light has come on the vehicle indicating cylinder three misfired. I have taken vehicle to the shop the first time and had the coil replaced. The same light came on with the same warning. This time the spark plugs were replaced, the injections cleaned out, the throttle body cleaned out. I just got it back yesterday and I feel confident that I will have the same thing over the next few days. When this happens, the vehicle idles rough and the car has no power. This vehicle has been maintained higher than the standards call for in the manual. Looks like Chrysler is good for about 40,000 miles, then be prepared to spend some money. I plan to trade the vehicle for a Toyota, though I had supported american made vehicles in the past, with a product like this, you can't afford to. The total cost thus far has been $600. 00. It appears that chrsyler knows the problem exists because of the bulletins, yet they will not recall the car ,and do what is right for the consumers. People can't afford to pay for a vehicle and repair it at the same time with so few miles. The Pacifica is a great riding car ,and I otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it.
Purchased an 2005 Pacifica June 10th. Was back in the service department 3 days after purchase with check engine light on. Service supposedly repaired problem but after 1 week noticed vehicle misfiring and check engine light back on. Took it back service replaced a part (not sure what) and reset light. As of today this makes my 4th trip to service department with same problem. Check engine light. The mechanic said today it failed the emissions test and he can't figure out why. I left it there and took a rental, but now it kind of feels like I have bought a problem. (check engine light).
The contact stated vehicle stall with no warning while making a left turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, and they could not duplicate the problem. The vehicle was taken back to the dealership, and they installed the autopilot. When they checked the autopilot, they state it was not working. Upon further inspection, the dealership found there was a problem with the fuel pump. The part was ordered, but according to the manufacturer, the part was being redesigned ,and will not be available until the end of the year. The engine light came on, and the dealership suggested he ignore it. After filling the gas tank the gas gauge showed empty. The dealership stated this was part of the fuel pump problem. The gas gauge still is inoperable ,and he has to constantly put fuel in the vehicle. Updated 12/7/2005.
