My engine in my car just shut down in the middle of driving. I was told it was a recall and was fixed yrs ago but it has happened 3 times since. Twice after getting gas and one time driving in the school parking lot. Lost all control of power steering and time of engine trouble. Car started back up and engine light came on and went back of and back on. Also smelt burning wires but couldn’t find anything.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2018

My vehicles service engine light has been on for a few months. I got the vehicle serviced twice and each time the light would not go off. A night or two ago I was trying to back my vehicle and it wouldn't back I was on a leveled surface in my aunt's front yard. Instead when I would put it in reverse it would cut off each time. So thankfully I had enough room in front of me to pull forward. I thought this was the only problem but as of this morning I was driving and my car cut off in the middle of the road I was driving on level concrete turning to make a left turn. I thank god that there wasn't a carecoming up behind me. So now I'm dealing with a car that can't back or drive without cutting off.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2016

2005 Chrysler Pacifica I purchased from original owner with only 63000 miles. Car while driving, car just accelerates to high speed on its own for no reason. Have to put it in neutral to avoid death or injury. Today while driving normally, all warning lights came on & we ended up stranded due to weird electrical failure where we can't even get car out of park. Passenger headlamp has gone out several times, now drive fog lamp out. There appears to be many mechanical & electrical failures with this car. It's truly horrifying how poorly engineered and dangerous these cars are & I'm forced to drive this wagon with my family as we can't afford to replace it. Would like to start a class action lawsuit against Chrysler for endangering the public with their dangerous cars. How many people need to die before all these Pacifica's are recalled and repurchased by Chrysler for book value?.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/06/2016

Gas gauge fluctuates to empty with light and chime announcing no gas, but there is a three quarter tank full of gas. The engine turns off and steering locks without power. Used car purchased yesterday and we were stranded until we filled the tank with three gallons the car was in motion the first time it stalled. The second time it was idling at a stop light. The third time was in a parking lot. I turned the engine off than back on it resumed . We were heading in a straight directions.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2015

I own a 2005 Pacifica limited, I purchased this car in 2009 from a Chrysler dealer. I have taken this car back to the same dealer who sold me the car for servicing (oil change, repairs, ect). Not once was I informed (during the purchase or any time during servicing the Pacifica) about the rotting subframe. I have all of my records showing the inspection underneath with no mention of the rotting/rusted subframe. This car belongs to my wife and she drives our two kids in this car (not anymore). After reviewing other similar complaints I am very upset and frustrated with this whole situation. I have had electrical problems with this car and the whole time it could have been from the rotting/rusted subframe (that was never mentioned). I have put soooo much money into the repairs of this car and I feel like most could have been avoided, had I known about the subframe.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2014

There was a recall from Chrysler made for 2004-2005 Pacificas dealing with the engine cradle. They erouded and rusted through. Thousands upon thousand of cars were recalled. They than revoked it for a 2 month recall span. This problem has been deadly and faital and has affected thousands of familes. Chrysler refuses to fix the warranty that was organically wrote and sent out. They refuse to fix or acknowledge that the problem exist and is deadly for these people who drive the Pacifica as their " family transportation". In the past month my 2005 Pacifica has stalled out, died, had all roaders, breaks and control arms replaced. All new tires and now I find out my engine cradle has rusted out to where's its not drivable. Now the radio stopped working, the air wont turn on if blinkers are all, the entire electrical body has crapped out and Chrysler refuses to fix the problems they set the original recall for. There are thousands of people driving these cars with kids, what will it take for someone to fix this issue? death of thousands of kids? multiple accidents?.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2014

Our regular mechanic has determined that the undercarriage of my car is rusted and rotted to the point where it is unsafe to drive . Car was brought in due to electrical failure as mentioned above . I have never received recall notices . I spoke with a Chrysler rep today and there is nothing we can do because its not with in the recall time frame .

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2014

When I start my car from a parked position, I put the car in reverse and it stalls out . It throws the car in neutral . I also ended up in a ditch . I had to leave the car at my job. Unable to drive it home from work. My mechanic will come and tow my car to his shop.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2014

I was driving along returning from the market and I was approaching a redlight. I applied the brakes and all the lights begin to flicker and the car stalled. I started the car back up and the dashboard lights or cluster instrument panel was black. The headlights still work, but no brake lights. Before that my driver seat power went out and my headlight bulbs keep blowing. I don't know what to do. Im a single mom, full time worker, full time student on a very tight budget, im too scared to check if my engine cradle is rusted. I don't need anymore bad news about this car. I changed the fuse for the cluster panel and it works fine for awhile (*couple of hours) and then its back to black when I apply the brakes. What is going on? Chrysler needs to setup and fix our cars because they had no problems accepting our bailout.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2013

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/15/2012

Multiple issues with this car! I will start with the problems that didn't almost kill myself and my children. The abs light would stay on and the dealer had no resolution. The car would stall while turning. I replaced the battery five times in four years. While idling in the driveway the drivers seat reclined by itself, would not respond to the controls and started smoking! the dealer claims they could not diagnose the problem! lastly, while driving my sons to school, the car was handling poorly and because it was dark and raining, initially I believed that it was wet road conditions. To maintain control of the car, I was traveling in the slow lane and my speed was approx. 30 mph. Upon approaching the top of a small hill, the steering began to vibrate violently, at this time I believed that the car had a flat tire and that was what had caused the poor handling while driving. I immediately hit the button for my hazard lights and began to try to ease into the emergency lane and attempt to stop the car. It was instantly apparent that the car brakes and power steering were not working, which left me struggling at 30 mph and accelerating because of the I was now on the downward side of the hill, to try to maintain control of the car! I was able to keep the car from completely veering to the right and ultimately hit a 5 inch concrete curb that is a turn out for the corner gas station. Upon hitting the curb the car then sprang to the left back into the highway lane. Miraculously, no other vehicles were traveling in that lane at that moment! once, we were out of the car, I learned that the car did not have a flat tire but a part of the front end had broken and caused the passenger front tire to collapse into the wheel well. . . Unbelievable! I believe this to be a defect of the car, in addition to he multitude of other defects of this car!!.

22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while parked, the vehicle could not be removed from park. Eventually the contact was able to remove the gear from park. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000. Kmj.

23 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/14/2011

I currently have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica touring fwd that was purchased in 2007. Since the time of purchase I have had to replace my driver's side headlight bulb 3 times. I have placed a call to the dealer I purchased the car from and also Chrysler's customer service. They tell me that my VIN number does not appear on any recalls that they have. I however, do not understand and have never had a vehicle that has needed a headlight replaced those many times in one year.

24 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/11/2011

2005 Pacifica stalls when slowing down or making slow turns.

25 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2010

I was driving on the freeway, and all of a sudden the car turns of. I had my niece in the car. The steering wheel wouldn't move. I could've crashed and caused a major fatal accident. Shortly after that I needed to replace the engine. Luckily I had warranty. The dealership couldn't figure out why the car would turn off. This happened about 3 times. And still does. Now im having problems with the motor. I've doesn't over 8000 dollars fixing this car out of my pocket. The car is almost paid off. I need help. I feel like Chrysler has stolen money from me since I purchased this car. Not fair. Not right.

26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2009

05 chrys-pac on 11-15-09 driving on interstate 87n turned on ac to clear windows everything in the car went dead, engine, elect pwr everything, no pwr steering, nopwr brakes, just made it to road side with out getting hit. After a short time the car started again and was driven home.

27 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2009

We have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica that has been acting up. The headlamps and interior lamps will flicker like there is a short, and then the abs and brake lights will come on and chime. The radio will also have a pop noise and turn off. The vehicle has lost power twice now while coming to a stop at a traffic light and in our driveway. Now the door lock actuator is not working properly. With reading all the complaints this vehicle has on the same items, I would think a major recall would need to be made before someone gets seriously hurt, if someone hasn't all ready.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2009

Failure to start, a mechanical part broke in the steering column. They told me they have had so many of these parts brake that it would be until July until they can get the part. If this is a fact I feel it should be a recalled item and not my problem. I am with out a car for two months.

29 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2007

(1) none (2) stalling, constant, total loss of power, happens at all speeds/conditions. (3) independent repair shop and dealer could not fix, as it does not send and error code.

30 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2007

Since 2006, I've had to take my car to the service department because of abs light turning on and off. At the time this occurs, the brakes also lock up and make noises when pressed. Each time, the service department tells me its a sensor and when replaced, it stops doing it until the next time a "sensor" needs to be replaced. The say there are multiple sensors, and each time it appears to be a different one.

31 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2006

There is a significant popping and clicking sound when accelerating and stopping. Also happens when moving the gear shift. Car surges forward when popping sound happens. Took to dealer and they said I had to live with it as it is a problem with the car they can not fix. So need to now what to do. Also engine stalls. This has happened twice. The first time I was at a crawl in traffic, but at an incline onto a bridge. I had my foot on the brake and then put it on the gas petal to accelerate and the car died. Lights and dash board are lit but car is shut off. Car restarted with no problem. Second time, I was parking in a spot that was again at an incline. I put the car in reverse, took my foot off the brake and stepped on the gas petal to begin driving in reverse, car died. Both times I had approximately 3/4 of a tank of gas. Also the shop don't want to give you a rental or loner car while the repairs are done.

32 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/29/2006

2005 Chrysler Pacifica stalls without warning. This is the 3rd time in 2 months that my Pacifica has just died @ low speed. The car doesn't just stall, but it completely shuts down. Each time that it stalled, all of the electronics turned off, however, the only thing that was on was the oil light. When the car was taken to the dealership, no fault codes were returned.

33 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2006

We have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. That keeps cutting off. The first time it happen I thought well maybe it was something I did. The second time was when I was turning onto a 2 lane road come home late. The car just turned completely off. No warning at all. Thankfully the car swerved and missed me and my kids. I then took it toallen samuel's alliance. I told them what was happening and also told them my left light keeps having a short in it. And at times cuts off. The dealer called me back and advised that the light had a defect to it and that for the engine failure it was due to my throttle needing to be cleaned. That was not covered under warranty and had to pay $300 to get that cleaned. I then was called back several hours later and was told that the throttle had been clean but it they test drove it and it seemed like something else was going on. They asked if I would let them keep it until the morning so that they can have there tech look at it again in the morning. I said okay although at this point it was going on the 4th day with out having a replacement vehicle. I was called the next day and was told it was the rear motor mount that need to be replaced. And that was covered however I need to pay my deductible. We went ahead and had them fix the problem . This was at the end of July. It is now September and my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica is in the shop again . Because as I was driving it staled on me again. . . Took it back to the shop and on my way there it staled again. All of sudden my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica stared making this loud noise when I would accelerated and or turn left. . . . . . . . When we got to the dealer they advise again that now another motor mount has broke. . . My car has been there a week. And I have not received a loaner car because the warranty company is saying that they will not replace it my 2005 Chrysler only has 39,926 . . . . And the dealership is saying that they will help us out with payment plans the repair is 1,100.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/18/2006

: the contact stated the vehicle stalled without warning while turning at various speeds on three occasions. The vehicle was maneuvered off the road and restarted. Twice the dealer determined the problem was due to an electrical system malfunction and attempted a repair without success.

35 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2006

We had been traveling at a speed of 55 mph on a 2 lane highway. My husband slowed the car to make a left hand turn. The car was going 20 miles per hour when it stalled completely. We lost power steering, brakes and all ability to control the vehicle. Luckily my husband reacted quickly and forcefully enough to avoid hitting an oncoming car. The car was taken to the dealership and the problem was unable to be reproduced. Returned home the the car and it happened again. I even offered to take the service manager with me to the location where the incident occurred. He refused. Nothing more was addressed by the dealership.
