Two issues. First, when accelerating, sometimes the transmission disengages for about 1-2 seconds and then reengages and causes a sudden jerk motion forward. Happens 3-4 times a month. This will happen on both city streets and highways. This has started over 3 years ago. Second, the engine will stall/shut off at random times on city streets. It occurs when going over a speed bump and also occurs when making a u-turn. It takes quickly shifting back to park, then pressing brake and start button to start back up. This has started happening within the last 3-6 months.
This vehicle is a handicap conversion van modified by revability / vmi in the modification - revability has replaced the factory fuel tank with one of their own design and construction. In doing so - they use the Chrysler factory components such as the fuel pump, fuel gauge sender unit, emissions connections, etc. However - the fuel gauge has never worked properly since I purchased the van and it gives misleading information about the fuel level. It registers only 3/4 full on the dash when in fact the tank is full. If you try to add any more fuel (as I found out when I first purchased the van) - it affects the emissions controls severely and makes the van un-drivable; in fact the engine will stall unexpectedly in traffic which is a severe hazard. Further - the low tank level is unpredictable so you are never sure when to refill, if the fuel gets too low then the engine can also stop in traffic. The company is well aware of this problem but cannot fix it. I have had it to the original selling dealership (jay hatfield mobility in lee's summit missouri) several times as revability said the repairs were covered under their manufactures warranty. The dealership has been unable to fix the problem and has since not renewed their contract with revability. So the problem still exists and the powertrain 'check engine' light comes on periodically - which jay hatfield mobility said they had nothing to do with and would not do any further repairs. My wife is handicapped and in daily rehab treatment - so I need this van every day and need it fixed properly - however the van conversion manufacturer has no instructions or information that they can supply for a correct repair. I believe that revability / vmi should be responsible for fixing this problem properly or replacing this van as it is / can be a safety hazard to operate without a properly functioning fuel gauge.
This is the second complaint I have filed in 24 hours. I believe I am having a known problem/recall in my vehicle: engine stall due to software issue an engine stall can increase the risk of a crash. Nhtsa campaign number: 18v049000 I drove about 3 miles. Parked my vehicle and pushed the button to open the sliding back door. When I pushed the button the entire vehicle turned off including the engine and all the lights. Nothing on the dash remained lit. I tried to restart it and nothing happened. No sounds, click or lights appeared. I opened my door and waited about a minute then the interior lights turned on. The sliding back door had to be manually pulled shut at this point. I tried to start the vehicle again and nothing happened. I tried again and it hesitated, then started. I was able to drive about 10 miles to work after that.

Van would not pick up speed in highway. Pulled off at next exit and while attempting to pull off to the side the engine stalled and shut off. The shut off was on a road. Had one failed start the. We were able to drive off.
After stopping at a red light, attempted to turn left. After releasing brake and attempting to accelerate the engine stalled, cut off, and would not restart for several minutes.
The engine stalled while driving down the road at 10mph. Just out of blue the engine stopped and I get a move shifter to park and restart engine message on the screen. (that itself is dangerous to move the shifter to park in a moving car). This happened a few months ago at a red light and I had reported it. Clearly Chrysler hasn't fixed this issue and it's causing for very dangerous driving conditions. These people only started after the recall from Chrysler for a software update to fix this issue.
I had my 2017 Pacifica fixed as part of the recall for the engine stalling issue a few months ago (18v049000). It stalled at an intersection, actually almost twice. The first time, it shuddered and *almost* stalled at an intersection when I accelerated on a green light, but then at the last second it picked up and started moving. A few intersections later, this time on a slight slope, the light turns green, I step on the accelerator, it shudders and stalls. I get the "move shifter to park" and have to restart the car. After restarting it's been working fine since. Obviously they haven't fixed the engine stalling issue.
Engine stalling when idle or during take off but quickly restarts when putting it in park. At times it goes directly to park on its own after shutting down. Recently the vehicle lost power while driving around 50 mph. I coasted to the stop light put it in park and it restarted. Loosing power completely after stalling but after a few minutes of waiting it restarts. Shift service warning appears but resets before taking it to dealer. Often shift indicator lights don't work but will after the car restarts hours later. Windows go down on their own while driving.
Engine stalled when attempting to accelerate from a complete stop. Lost all control of electrical, and the car would not shift into park or neutral. Windows would not close or open. Navigation screen was still on. No other dash warning lights were illuminated. Attempted to turn the car off and on, but nothing happened. After 5 minutes of attempting to restart the car, it restarted. I was able to drive the car to a safe location and have it towed.
Car unexpectedly cut out and engine stalled whilst making a turn on to a busy 4 lane street. Took to the dealership and no issues found. I've redently discovered this happening to other vehicles of the same make, model and and year.
I purchased my 2017 Chrysler Pacifica touring l on 7/22/2017, everything was going great until mid August. My uconnect radio kept freezing, the engine ticked (stopped itself within a few weeks), the tailgate got stuck half way a few times trying to automatically close. It's just stop midway and I'll have to manually push it shut close. Within later months (beginning around October) my began to jerk back every so often (about twice a week) while driving. It's happened at both high and low speeds so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've took it to the dealership service center multiple times but they don't have a solution or fix for the problem. Since they don't have a solution they won't do anything about it. Recent month (December/January) the jerking is getting worse. It's beginning to jerk almost everyday, sometimes more than three times a day! I've been continuing to pay my lease for a car I'm terrified of driving. I've read so many horror stories of people Pacifica's stalling while on the freeway. I refuse to have my family ride in what suppose to be a safe vehicle. I took the vehicle in for repair last week for the engine stalling and they still don't have a resolution to the fix. The day after I picked up my vehicle, while driving home that night it jerked back while going down a city main street. A few minutes later it gave me this message on the dash (image attached).
Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that while at a red light the engine suddenly stalled and while driving approximately 10 mph and merging into the right lane the engine suddenly stalled at second time. After restarting the engine the vehicle operated as normal for approximately 30 minutes before the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer dallas Chrysler in dallas, GA who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified in reference to the failure. The failure mileage was 8,000. Jft.
Purchased a brand new Chrysler Pacifica vehicle 3 wks ago on may 18 2017. We headed out on vacation on the 20th of may. May 21 was the first incident on the interstate in chicago we stalled in the middle of traffic for approximately 10 minutes. May 27 we pulled up to a stoplight and the engine stalled out on us that lasted approximately 3 minutes, the same day at a tollbooth we stalled out which lasted about 25 minutes before the car would start again we ended up calling for a towing service but the car we started and we canceled the tow service. May 30 we left the grocery store the screen switch to the app page and would not switch back, the brakes locked and we lost engine power. That lasted 20 mins before car would start. June 7 car would not start after coming out of the grocery store waited 20 minutes then tried again car started 30 seconds after the ignition button has been pressed by itself. June 11 car stalled out pulling into the driveway. Took less then a minute to restart this time. We have taken the car into the dealer and the could find nothing and could not replicate. We now have to drive back from PA to nd with a vehicle I am afraid to drive with 6 kids. I am so upset and disappointed in this Chrysler product.
