Chrysler Pacifica owners have reported 7 problems related to vehicle shudder (under the power train category).
The first problem was that the car shuddered and made loud "clunking" noises when shifting gears. It would often quit running when at low speeds as in parking lots. While at high speeds on the interstate car just didn't feel "right. " wanted to quit. Took it in the first time and they reprogrammed the transmission which seemed to help for a short while. Then, it started acting up again and when returning to the dealer this time they advised a lubricant was needed. Not sure what or where this was applied.
When depressing the accelerator, the car makes a grinding or clunking noise . We lifted the hood, put the car in drive and depressed the parking brake. We then applied accelerator and the front of the engine lifted from the motor mount a good 2 or 3 inches. This is extremely dangerous and this actually started doing this shortly after I purchased it in June of 2014. It had 97000 miles and now has 117000 miles. I am fearful of having the engine come completely off the frame. I am taking it to my independent mechanic next week. I cannot believe with all the complaints that this model has that it has not been recalled. I guess since no one has died yet or been seriously injured the manufacturer must feel fairly confident that they will just wait till everyone stops buying them. Well, I am selling my car after it is fixed. I have already had to have the shifter replaced because that went out about 3 months ago and my mechanic had to replace it. I think I should be reimbursed for that as well, and you can be sure I am keeping all of my receipts for repairs that I should not even have to make on an 8 year old vehicle.

When I accelerate from a stop (at a red light to green) and "go" before I reach 10mph. . The car suddenly pauses and shakes (as though it's shifting in gear and gets stuck in a low gear) and is not smooth but shakes the whole car. Also, on the highway. . . . The car would suddenly go into low gear. . . And (again, I don't have stick shift) I press the accelerator and I can hear the engine burning. . . . Cause I can't go over 25 mph. So I have to pull over and turn the engine off and turn it back on. Another issue is the front bumper has a silver plate at the corners of the front car. I have replaced it 3 times cause it falls off. . . . So annoying!!!!!!!! worse than a wheel rim plate falling off.
