The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Sebring coupe. The contact stated while driving approximately 80 mph the vehicle surged forward and would not stop when she engaged the brakes. The contact began to shift gears and the vehicle stopped surging. The vehicle was pulled onto the side of the road and shut off. Upon restarting the vehicle it functioned normally momentarily before the failure recurred. In order to stop the vehicle from surging the contact began to shift the gears. The vehicle was not repaired or taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 91,000.
