2 Electrical system wiring defect investigations of Cadillac Escalade vehicles
This investigation was opened on Feb. 4, 2008. It was closed on Jun. 12, 2008. In response to an information request letter sent by the office of defects investigation(odi) during preliminary evaluation pe08-010, gm provided odi with 41 allegations of non-crash engine compartment fires including 16 allegations of fires originating with the ignition in the off position.

This investigation involves the general motors corporation (gm)throttle body (tb) utilized in model year (my) 1999-2002 silverado, sierra, tahoe, suburban, avalanche and yukon (subject vehicle(s)) with 4. 8l, 5. 3l, and 6. 0l engines. The tb valve may intermittently stick in a closed position.
