1 Side/rear glass defect investigations of Chrysler Pt Cruiser vehicles
This investigation was opened on Feb. 16, 2007. It was closed on Apr. 5, 2007. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
Daimlerchrysler corporation (dcc) will recall model year 2005 and 2006 pt cruiser vehicles produced from 5/17/05 through 9/1/05 to correct a potential defect in the rear quarter panel glass that may separate from the vehicle. Dcc will inspect the rear quarter panel glass and replace if necessary.

2 Side/rear glass defect investigations of Chrysler Pt Cruiser vehicles
This investigation was opened on Oct. 20, 2006. It was closed on Feb. 16, 2007. Odi has received reports that the either the left or the right rear quarter panel glass falls off the vehicle. Some reports indicate that the glass fell off the vehicle while in motion and struck a following vehicle. In some cases damage to the following vehicle was reported.

Pe04-028 was opened to investigate seven complaints alleging that the engine compartment caught fire on my 2002 pt cruiser vehicles. On June 3, 2004, daimlerchrysler (dcc) notified NHTSA of a safety defect in my 2001-2005 pt cruiser vehicles equipped with naturally aspirated 2.

4 Seat belts defect investigations of Chrysler Pt Cruiser vehicles
This investigation was opened on Nov. 6, 2002. It was closed on Apr. 23, 2003. There are no injuries or fatalities associated with this alleged defect. While conducting this investigation, odi found that the subject cinches meet the load bearing requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard 208, and that many of the reported failures were due to incorrect child safety
