This investigation was opened on Mar. 30, 2010. It was closed on Jan. 5, 2011. The office of defects investigation (odi) received defect petition dp10-003 on March 2, 2010, requesting the investigation of model year (my) 2003 Chevrolet silverado 2500hd 4wd pickup trucks for corrosion failures of the vehicle brake lines.

This investigation was opened on Jun. 12, 2008. It was closed on Sep. 8, 2008. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
In a letter dated August 27, 2008, general motors corp. (gm) notified NHTSA that it will conduct a safety recall (NHTSA recall number 08v-441) to address a safety relateddefect that can result in engine compartment fire in approximately 850,000 vehicles equipped with a heated windshield washer

3 Battery defect investigations of GMC Sierra vehicles
This investigation was opened on Feb. 4, 2008. It was closed on Jun. 12, 2008. In response to an information request letter sent by the office of defects investigation(odi) during preliminary evaluation pe08-010, gm provided odi with 41 allegations of non-crash engine compartment fires including 16 allegations of fires originating with the ignition in the off position.

10 Tailgate latch defect investigations of GMC Sierra vehicles
This investigation was opened on Feb. 19, 2004. It was closed on Sep. 28, 2004. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.

11 Parking brake defect investigations of GMC Sierra vehicles
This investigation was opened on Dec. 8, 2003. It was closed on Apr. 9, 2004. Odi opened pe03-057 to assess parking brake ineffectiveness in the subject vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with four wheel disc brakes that incorporate a single-shoe drum-in-hat parking brake independent of the service brakes.

This investigation was opened on Aug. 1, 2002. It was closed on Jan. 12, 2004. This investigation involves the general motors corporation (gm)throttle body (tb) utilized in model year (my) 1999-2002 silverado, sierra, tahoe, suburban, avalanche and yukon (subject vehicle(s)) with 4. 8l, 5. 3l, and 6. 0l engines. The tb valve may intermittently stick in a closed position.

13 Windshield wiper/washer motor defect investigations of GMC Sierra vehicles
This investigation was opened on May. 31, 2002. It was closed on Jul. 23, 2003. This investigation resulted in a vehicle safety recall.
As a result of this, and the precedinginvestigation, rq99-003, gm has expanded the population of safety recall 98v-150 (replacement of the windshield wiper control module) to include an additional 1. 77 million vehicles.
