Air Bag Light On Problems of Dodge Caliber

My airbag light is going on and off randomly while I am driving. If I am on a highway for a distance the light will go off until I brake or hit a small bump then it will ding and come on again. When driving on city streets it will go off and on quite a bit.

This is my second complaint to you in regards to a faulty airbag that was installed at your yorkville, NY carbone location. On December 28 ,2018 I went into the yorkville, NY location to have an airbag recall taken care of. Then I had to return to carbone in yorkville, NY on December 30 , 2019 because my airbag light was on. They charged me $107. 66 to diagnose the issue and were going to charge me an additional $438. 50 for a faulty airbag that they installed, stating this was my problem not there problem. How is this my problem when it was an airbag they fixed and now my airbag light is on due to a faulty airbag they repaired that I had no previous problems with before the recall. I then had to take my car to maugeri's in utica, NY for them to fix this faulty airbag. Parts were $150. 00 and labor was $82. 50 which is a total of $232. 50. I would like to be reimbursed by carbone the total of $232. 50 to fix the repair at my mechanics and the diagnosis fee at carbone's which brings it to the total of $340. 16. Again this was a faulty airbag that carbone in yorkville , NY. They need to be held accountable to installing a faulty airbag and not taking responsibility for fixing it for free. Again I would like to be reimbursed my $340. 16 for a faulty airbag recall that I had to fix myself. Nicole boudreau.

The airbag light is on and stays on. It randomly goes off for a minute but will stay on most of the tome and beep nonstop.

My airbag light started giving me problems in September 2019, the airbag light comes on and off when stationary, and in motion.

The code stating a wire is lose within the driver airbag. The airbag light keep going on and off consistently while driving.

The air bag light is on at all times and does not go off.

My airbag light came on recently and it verbs and flashes when I make a left turn. At times when I make a right turn it turns off after a while as long as I don't turn the steering wheel to the left. When I have the vehicle parked now after time the airbag light stays on now. It use to go off but not no more. Please help I know this is unsafe for me and my family to drive with a airbag light on.

The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for the air bag warning indicator failure. The manufacturer was notified by voicemail and the contact was awaiting a callback. Takata recall- my air bag light stays on all the time, also I had to replace the electronic control module, it was completely full of corrosion. All of the front and back suspention had to be replaced, all control arms upper and lower, struts, the whole thing. The transmission will not shift properly, causing the engine to stall. I have had the suspention fixed, and the electrical replaced. The transmission fluid changed but mechanic could not find out what the problem is. It does not shift properly when on highway driving, and will not down shift when stopping, car stalls out. The electrical module would not put out enough power to run the lights, wipers, fan or radio. This car is a real piece of crap, Dodge should be ashamed of themselves for even putting it on the market. We want action, for what we paid for this junk.

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Caliber. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle lunged forward. The srs and check engine warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was determined that the driver side air bag spiral cable spring needed to be replaced and reset. A tune up was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Intermittent recurring electrical outage while driving. All chimes will sound and all dash lights will come on. The power is lost, a dash lights flash and turn off and we loose the instruments (speedometer, rpm, etc. . . . ). Experience lose of power can barely get it pulled over safely. Air bag light comes on and seat belt does not lock. Dealership can not repair even with having it for 42 days time before last. Have only been able to drive 334 miles since dealership delivered car to me when they drove 170 miles and could not get it to reoccur in August 2015. I'm afraid to even drive it to dealership. Total miles put on car since purchase June 2013 is 11394. Current mileage 38234.

The first signs of a problem were a clicking sound when turning the steering wheel. It did not happen every time, and I did nothing about it until December, when a portion of a strap with electrical wire embedded began to protrude from the upper steering column. It soon began to be a nuisance as the portion grew longer and would catch on the steering position adjustment knob. I grew alarmed when the airbag light came on, and took it to the dealership. They said it was a broken clockspring, and they had to order the part. It cost me over $300 to get this repaired, and now I see Toyota is doing a recall for this exact same thing, a spiral cable assembly that becomes damaged from turning the steering wheel. It is a poor design. Toyota is replacing this with a better part, but I do not think Dodge did that, and I had to pay to get this replaced. I am concerned it could happen again, and believe there should be a recall by Dodge also.

Air bag light came up on, horn and cruise control stopped working. Many people with same issues on forums. It is the clock spring.

Had to replace alternator and my airbag light continually comes on. My sister has the same problem with her Dodge and hers is a different model. .

The lights come on when the seasons change and the car is warmed up. The alarm goes off usually when it is windy. The airbag light is the most common. It can also go on when parked and car is running. As the years have gone on, it's been less predictable. Occasionally there isn't any power when I plug something into the console, too. I've had the dealer look at it multiple times but they haven't found anything. Sometimes they don't even write it up when I'm having something else repaired. All the dealer has told me is that my airbag is disabled when the light is on. When the alarm goes off, it doesn't want to be shut off. It takes a lot of tries sometimes to get it to stop. The traction control is the newest thing. That's been only for the last year or so.
