My headlights are flickering I see many car complaints about the tipm relay and want it fixed under the recall I could have had a car accident this issue should have been fixed.
Was driving home at night when randomly my lights started flashing, horn started blaring, windshield wipers started going off, washer fluid was spraying everywhere. Locks were locking and unlocking. I ended up driving into someone's lawn as I could not see properly with poor lighting and all the distractions. Once I got home the vehicle continued to be possessed even without the key in the ignition. I was finally able to get everything to stop after unplugging the battery. Upon internet research it didn't take long to realize it was tipm fuse box issue, I have found several other customers with the same box having the same issues. I have gone to the junkyard 3 times and grabbed a used tipm fuse box replacement. The first replacement the car would not start. Second replacement there was a lot of trouble lights on the dash and the odometer did not work. With my most recent replacement the headlights don't work. So including my original tipm , that's 4 faulty tipms. Do you notice a problem or pattern here?.
When filling with gas the engine turns off while driving, this happened on a left turn with vehicles approaching, cars had to stop and help push van out of street. Luckily it did not cause an accident, had two young children in vehicle , very fortunate for the quick response of other drivers. Fuel reading wrong first time car shut off while driving showing 1/ 4 tank of gas. Now shuts off showing more than 3/4 tank of gas this happen on the highway, lost all power steering as well. Again I had two young children in car. Seat belt not working properly. Headlight very dim at night not good few for night time driving. This vehicle is becoming more unsafe to drive.
Many issues, appear to be related to the tipm. Headlights intermittently stop working, as do the windshield wipers(various times, when driving/when starting the car). Car horn beeps when driver door is opened. Air conditioner/heater intermittently stops working (when driving), will usually come back on after pulling over and restarting the car. Very dangerous in the winter.
The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that the transparency of the frontal headlights was fogging causing it to be very difficult to view the road at night. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Loss of headlight illumination NHTSA preliminary evaluation #pe10022 low beams very dim, high beams only work when turn indicator is held in a forward location. Without high beams I can not drive at night, holding the high beam on via the turn indicator causes dangerous driving. If driving or stationary the low beams do not work. We purchased this vehicle used in 2015, the problem did not happen until 2016, so we were not aware of the recall, as the recall was considered closed in 2015.

Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, the low beams headlights failed. The contact veered off the road and landed in a open field avoiding a crash. The vehicle was towed to the contacts residence and then taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and assigned an investigator to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000. Djr.
Over the past several years I have noticed my headlight lens were fogging up to the point where they were not functioning safely. I took the car to the shop where they used an emulsifier liquid to partially restore the lenses. Then I noticed that other cars had the same problem. This was not a problem when the manufacturers used glass lenses. Now they use plastic. What can be done to encourage auto manufacturers to place safe no-fog lenses in their new vehicles?.
The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Caravan. While driving approximately 70 mph, the headlights went out and illuminated again after a couple of minutes. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred a few weeks later and the lights remained off. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but refused to pay for diagnostic testing. The contact replaced the bulbs, but the failure recurred. The contact did not drive at night or in the rain due to state laws that require the lights on in those conditions. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was 172,000.
Starting in sept the headlights on my van would turn off by themselves periodically. I looked up information regarding this issue and have found that there are complaints that this happens but no recall was issued. This issue is getting to be much more frequent and for longer periods of time. Tonight I was driving to work and it is only 12. 4 miles to my job and my headlights went out 15 times!!! this is unacceptable!! we drive our 3 kids to school on rural roads at 5:30 in the mornings. What if this happens with them in the car??? this issue needs to be fixed ASAP and Dodge needs to be responsible for their product. Most people buy Mini vans because they have kids so why hasn't this been turned into a recall years ago? you can't expect people to risk their lives and the lives of others over an issue that is clearly Dodge's responsibility. I would like someone to contact me regarding this issue and if there is any other steps that I can take to hold Dodge responsible.
Headlights do not turn on and/or go off while driving.
My suspension bottoms out on me no matter where I am at. My front seats will not move back and forth at due to the handle mechanism breaking. My headlight assemblies do not put out the right beam of light the it needs to be able to see properly at night. I need your help in this matter please.

Head lights flickered several times and then stayed off. This has continued intermittently since November. Sometimes the headlights stay on, sometimes they don't. 8/1/2014-headlights don't work at all. I have taken to a Dodge dealer in December who told me it would cost $700 but couldn't guarantee it wouldn,t continue to happen. I have taken it to 2 private garages who have told me the same thing. It's not the bulbs. They believe it is a problem in the electrical system.
Mysteriously my headlights stopped working last night. Had to drive home in the dark which was very dangerous. As well as my windshield washer fluid pump will not turn on. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with this make and yaer. Why hasn't Dodge done a recall it seems to be the problem is far too widespread and common in these vans.

On 7/16/2013 it was raining but not hard and I had my headlights on and dropped off a passenger and as I went into the driveway my lights were shining on the garage door. As soon as I got to the end of the driveway which had a slight up grade the headlights flashed on and off 2 to 3 times and they would not stay on after that. I called the dealership and they advised me to replace both headlights which was done. This seemed to correct the problem and all day Wednesday I drove the van with the headlights on and they seemed to work. However on Thursday we took a small trip which took us 45 miles away from home. When we started back on Thursday night 7/18/13 the lights flashed a few times and then went out. We were unable to drive home and got to a motel that night. So the new lights apparently did not fix the problem, further, we checked the old lights and they actually checked out fine. The van is now at the dealership being repaired and the problem seems to be the box that holds all the fuses and relays. Upon checking on the internet we discovered that other people have reported the same problem. We consider ourselves very lucky in that if this failure had occurred on the interstate driving highway speeds no telling what could have happened if the headlights had failed at that time. We were lucky that we turned the lights on before moving and saw the lights were not working, this is going to be a repair job of over $700. 00 dollars and if other people are having this problem in other years and models I think that maybe this situation warrants further study, at present the van is being repaired and should be back in a few days, this is the first time that we have ever experience anything like this; failure of headlights. If this problem warrants a recall at some point maybe I might receive a refund on this repair.

Headlights stopped working. Unable to turn on.
Headlight switch/lights wouldn't work at random times, then start working again.
Headlights turn off on their own causing a very dangerous situation when driving in the dark. I googled this problem and found that several people have had this happen. This make, model and year obviously have a flaw and needs to be recalled before some one gets killed.
Reference NHTSA action number ea11010. This is the exact problem I am having with my 05 Caravan. Headlights turn off while driving on occasion, don't come on at all on other occasions. Highbeams work when the lever is pulled but do not stay on. Dealer wants $88 just to diagnose the problem, but based on NHTSA info, that won't help: "confirmed that the headlights fully extinguish, and remain extinguished, on an intermittent basis. In most cases this occurred while the vehicle was in motion" bought the van used and after this problem occurred a few times I searched the web and found many forums discussing this known issue.
Driving at night and headlights just randomly turn off!!! have to keep flicking high beams on to get them to stay on. Not safe when you can't see to to pull off side of road.

I have a 2005 Dodge minivan, the headlight would go off while driving, the head light won't turn on unless after few minutes if trying. I went online to see what is the problem with my car, I found out that many people own Dodge minivan have the same problems as I have. This is not safe for both the driver and the cars that is on the same road at night. If so many people have the same type of problem with the same kind of the car model, then we really should be ask the manufacture to recall this type of vehicle since many complainers has bring back their cars to the dealerships and they can not fix the problem.
2005 Dodge Caravan sxt, issue with headlights turning off randomly or not being able to turn on. Unfortunately, issue cannot be solved because it occurs randomly and mechanic cannot isolate issue. Very frustrated.
2005 Dodge Caravan headlight lowbeams will not turn on until several tries, this problem is intermittent. Also the headlights will turn off while driving. Very dangerous situation. See this link for others having the exact same issue. . Read more...
Travelling between states on hwy, headlights just turn off for a few seconds for no reason. Happenned 3 times going 70 mph at 2am at night. Pretty scary in the middle of the night in the middle of no where. Google search indicates this is very common. What does it take for a damn recall? someone to die?.
This is 2005 Dodge Caravan I bought new from a dealership in August 2005. For the last three months I've been having serious problems with my headlights. Often they will not turn on at all while vehicle is not moving and a few minutes later they do work. More then once headlights have stoped working while I am driving and it takes between one to ten minutes for the lights to turn on by themselves. During this time the parking lights, dash lights and flashing high beam light do work. I consider this very serious problem for the safety of the driver and the passingers and my opinion is that this is a manifacturer malfunction.
I own a 2005 Dodge Caravan sxt. Bought it new and lately the headlights go out while driving at night. I see many posts on the internet with people experiencing the same problem. This is a huge safety concern. This should be a recall.
Headlight randomly go off at least once a day. The dealer has replaced the computer.
Headlights fail to turn on multiple times and go out while driving creating an unsafe condition.
The power locks stopped working. I feel that this is a safety concern since while driving down the road with my children they could open the doors. It is supposed to lock automatically but I can't even manually lock it. Also the headlights randomly shut off while driving.
Headlights randomly fail on 2005 Dodge Caravan - at first I thought it was just me forgetting to turn on the lights all the way, but now the vast majority of the time, with the lights on the "on" position they don't work, only high beams and parking lights. I have no headlights anymore, and I have tried replacing fuses, relays, bulbs (which I know work anyway). . . Read more...
I have a 2005 Dodge Caravan this vehicle has headlight failure, have been told its the module too the electrical system. This is just one of the many problems that Dodge has with vehicles. From time to time the windows wont work . Now only the high beams work and low beams are completely out. Everything else but, the locks and headlamps wont work. No previous problems with this vehicle was noted . I was out of town 10 hrs from home when this problem with the low beams occured. Scared to drive at night. This must be looked at.
Headlights on my 2005 Dodge Caravan go out on there own. Issue while driving at night.
On our 2005 Dodge Caravan the headlights have failed to come on, and have also gone out by themselves. In researching the problem on the internet, I found at least 20 other people talking about the same thing. Website: topix. This is a fairly serious safety issue for people driving at night and to unexpectedly have their headlights go out!.
