My 2010 Dodge Challenger srt8 completely shuts down while driving for no apparent reason. The engine turns off and I lose power steering. It does this repeatedly while driving at all speeds. All electrical components work when this happens but the power steering makes it very hard to turn the vehicle which makes it very dangerous in traffic or on the highway. I have to put the vehicle in park press my ignition start button to turn the car completely to the off position and restart the vehicle. There are no check engine lights that illuminate after this happens so the Dodge dealer does not know what the problem is. The last time this happened my abs and traction control light has illuminated and my esp, traction control and anti lock brake system was disabled and hasn't been enabled. After starting the car the esp, tc and abs light illuminate and stay on. I have taken my vehicle to the Dodge dealer three times and they have said that they are not able to find the problem because there are no trouble codes or a check engine light on. I have read online that this is a very common issue that thousands of owners of Dodge Challengers are experiencing with the same result that the Dodge service departments can not find or duplicate the problem. This random engine shut off has happened around 40 times. It's happened on the highway in motion at speeds of 75 mph on the city street from 30-50 mph and when leaving an intersection after the stop light turns green leaving me stopped in the middle of the intersection in danger of bieng hit by oncoming traffic. It has also happened while turning in a intersection and the vehicle stopping with oncoming traffic heading towards my vehicle. I have nearly been hit numerous times due to this problem. I have proof of my vehicle taken to the dealer to resolve this issue with no luck as to what the dangerous problem is.

As I was driving on the free way, I noticed my check engine light came on. At first I thought it may have been a minute issue. However, my car started jerking, declining speed ,and became hesitate to continue motion as if the power of my car was about to stop. After ten minutes the engine light went off as I continued to drive the car at a reducing speed. However, the light came back on and the symptoms continued again. At this time I'm very concerned that my car needs to be on the recall as this is a serious issue. My light is still on as of 3/6/2017.

I was driving normal speed at 60 when I proceeded to get over I push the gas a little bit the car rpm when high but the car did not speed up I looked at the dash the check engine light came on I took it to have it scanned at advance auto and auto zone they both gave me the same code of p0741 that is a transmission code I drive my car daily to work and home the check engine light stays on 2 days then go off for one day then back on if u accelerate then release the pedal it make a hard jerk from the rear end this is not the first problem I had I bought the car brand new in March 2013 and the window switch went out and 2 months ago the ac control went out and now this transmission problem not only that my fiance Jeep is 2014 with 29000 miles on it and the heated seats not working or the heat and don jackson in union city GA has horrible customer service that been trying to get parts for 2 months for the Jeep to someone that is paying 1100 a month in car payments from Dodge I should be treated respectfully.
Car stalled on highway without warning, not even a check engine light. Car would not restart. Car was fixed by Dodge do to a faulty tip computer. Car again stalled after repair on 03/22/2015.
Car shut down/powered off/turned off on it's own, while driving. Rapid automatic down shift of gears braking from about 65 to turn/while turning left onto side street on road. Car died after steering wheel began turning to left and car was turning. Lost power steering and power brakes. Nearly slammed into embankment and blocked intersection area. Very difficult to control/hard to safe vehicle: hard to turn, stop, and restart. Check engine light did not come on/no odb codes stored. This was specifically scary as people drive through here fast and visibility is very short. After this event and the event in July, I became afraid I could die in this car. I took it to the dealership. They said a few error codes were saved in outer car systems that showed communication with pcm had been lost. They were replacing the pcm. However, replacing the pcm did not correct the problem. It has died 3 times since I started driving it in the spring this year. This is dangerous!!! the dealership refuses to investigate further. Please help.
Car shut down/powered off/turned off on it's own, while driving about 50 mph on a state highway. Car died while driving straight through an intersection at rush hour. Lost power steering and power brakes. Very difficult to control/hard to safe vehicle: hard to turn, stop, and restart. Check engine light did not come on/no odb codes stored. Scary dangerous. This nearly caused a multi car accident. The risk associated with these shut down events was increasing drastically.
The check engine light came on while driving at a speed of 35 mph. I immedetaely took my 2010 Dodge Challenger rt to the Dodge dealership. The service manager informed my there was issues with the timing chain and that was the reason for the check engine light coming on and that there would be no charge to me for them to replace the timing chain. When I picked up my 2010 Challenger rt a week later the check engine was still on and the service manager told me they would have to diagnose it further. The next day the service representative informed me the mds solenoid wiring to the main harness had melted and that the engine harness would have to be replaced and was not covered under the manufactures warranty or my extended warranty and that it would be $2000 out of pocket to me. The dealsership never gave any explanation why the wiring melted at the mds solenoid to the main harness causing the problem. At the time I only had 38,000 miles on my car.
Car shut down/powered off/turned off on it's own, while driving at about 40 mph in residential area. This is about the 5th specific time I remember. Lost power steering and power brakes. Very difficult to control/hard to safe vehicle: hard to turn, stop, and restart. Check engine light did not come on/no odb codes stored. Dealership couldn't find anything problem with car after July 7, 2012 event. They couldn't find problem this time either and sent me away with a phone #. They told me to file a case with Chrysler. Case #23728724 filed I believe after July 7, 2012 event.
Car shut down/powered off/turned off on it's own, while driving through parking lot at about 25 mph. Lost power steering and power brakes. Difficult to control/hard to safe vehicle: hard to turn, stop, and restart. Check engine light did not come on/no odb codes stored.
Car shut down/powered off/turned off on it's own, while driving. Driving slowly in parking lot looking for parking space. Estimate speed at 10 mph. Car died. Steering wheel may have started turning to left to park. Lost power steering and power brakes. Hard to turn, stop, and restart. Check engine light did not come on/no odb codes stored.
While driving in stop and go traffic the check engine oil and esp light came on followed by four chimes and then car completely shut off and the steering locked. After several attempts, the car started up again and the codes turned off. Approx 1 month later the same thing occurred. I was making a turn on a roundabout when the same thing occurred during heavy traffic and almost caused an accident. I took the car into the dealership and they said there was nothing captured on the computer. They replaced the key fob and said that this should fix the problem. 4-5 months later, I was in reno, nv. I was driving 20-35 mph and again check engine oil light, esp and four chimes and the car shut off again, the steering locked, and I coasted until I came to a complete stop and placed it in park, started car and oil and codes turned off. 24 hours later when driving home on the freeway in heavy traffic, the same thing occurred!!! I put on my hazard lights and let the car roll, came to a complete stop, placed car in park and after several attempts, the car started and codes turned off. The following day I took the car back to the dealership and again they said they could not find a problem with it, as nothing was recorded in the internal computer. I asked for the car to be kept until the problem was resolved. They were not able to duplicate it in that one week. I asked for a CO pilot computer to be placed in the vehicle in hopes of capturing the problem when it occurred, as the codes turn off after car is started. Dodge sent out a rep to inspect vehicle. After inspection they stated nothing is wrong with the vehicle, they cannot duplicate the problem, and there are no codes stored on the computer. I am now faced with driving an unsafe vehicle that shuts off on me in the city and most dangerously on the freeway with no set pattern and the manufacturer has done nothing to fix it!!.

Check engine light did not come on/no odb codes stored.

Normal driving, pulling up to a stop sign to make a right hand turn and the engine just stalls while still moving. Power steering goes out and the check engine light came on. Had to restart the car before driving off. After restarting the car, no issues and no warning lights. This has happened two times.
