The gas tank fell onto the road while driving to pick up my daughter from the bus. I immediately pulled over due to the sound. I then saw the front of the gas tank on the ground , half a mile down the road I was traveling there are alot of pit holes and that could of ended in a fire or worse with my tank dragging the ground. I have taken it to the dealership that would help repair the recall but they have yet to repair or give me information about what the manufacturer has said on what to do. They told me it is to rusty underneath to repair and contacted manufacturer. I am without a vehicle its been almost 2 weeks and I have a 6 year old child and my own health issues that inquire dr appointments. I have no money for a rental and no family or friends who can help with rides. I am unsure of what to do next I just know this is extremely frustrating considering I had purchased this vehicle only a few months ago.
Driving my vehicle throughout December of 2024 and the vehicle would die and power back up, vehicle would run intermittently and fail to continue operating while driving to and from work. Vehicle intermittently stalling during driving would cause "near miss" accidents on the road. Potentially endangering myself as the operator and other operators on the road due to a "no start" issue and unsafe operating condition in the electrical system of the vehicle. I thought it was a bad battery so I replaced it with a brand new battery from the auto parts store while I struggled to have this matter resolved before leaving for army active duty. I arranged to have the vehicle turned into a Chrysler, Dodge, ram dealer to have a diagnostic done on the vehicle. On June 6th according to their technicians report, it shows my tipm is bad. And needed to be replaced. The dealer failed to acknowledge this was a recall issue and would not cover the repair cost since the vehicle was out of warranty due to mileage and age. When their our hundreds of models being turned in for the same issue nationwide.
My 2011 Ram 1500 5. 7l has a faulty tipm. Fuel pump cuts out, causing stalling and intermittent operation, starting vehicle becomes problematic while commuting. Vehicle will sometimes not start at all and will remain stuck in an ignition loop. Continues to throw random check engine codes. I have had several near miss collisions while driving due to its unsafe condition I took the vehicle in to have a diagnostic done and a licensed Chrysler dealer deduced the vehicle has a faulty tipm, which correlates to the mass recall on the 2011 Ram 1500 models however my VIN does not show its associated with the many models of 2011 Ram 1500 when I cross referenced this.
My truck first started having trouble starting . When driving engine it would shut-off at anytime making it dangerous to steer and breakdown in traffic. There was no fault codes or warning lights on dash . After doing testing I found that the fuel pump relay was shut-off. Tipm is faulty and all Chrysler that have this style of tipm should be added to recall . I purchased a external fuel pump relay harness to repair tipm.
The digital instrument cluster gauges does not work sometimes and the digital speedometer does not does not work at all. Without the gauges its hard to say how slow/fast or what the vehicle is doing. It was just inspected. No prior signs or symptoms of this. I know this is not the first this has happened but over several years of Dodge ram trucks do this.
Failure to start. Engine cranks but will not start. Remote start fails. Door locks sometimes do not work, radio failures, engine stalls unexpectedly, tpm failure, serv 4wd warning light is displayed sporadically. This was a recall on 2011 and 2012 Chrysler vehicles except the ram. The ram also has the same issues as the other recalled vehicles. Why was the ram excluded from the recall?.
Engine compartment caught fire while driving. Could not put out fire vehicle was total loss.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving at 75 mph, the vehicle stalled. After several attempts, the vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay and tipm needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,203.
While driving at freeway speeds my truck completly shut off, I lost power to everything, including power steering. I had previous had my truck into the dealership for problems with my fuel pump staying on and learned it was a problem with the tipm (totally integrated power module) which Chrysler is aware of and has recalls for some vehicles in certin states. The symtoms my truck is having is the same listed in many of the complaints, ie. Vehicles randomly shutting off, fuel pump staying on and draining the batteries, air bags randomly deploying. After researching multiple fourms and website I found its a very common problem among Chrysler vehicles. This needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed due to faulty parts and equipment.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that it took a long time to start the vehicle and then it stalled. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the integrated power control module failed. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14v530000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000. The VIN was not available.
While slowing down to make a turn, the engine stalled out. This has happened once before approximately 1 month prior. During both instances, I coasted through the turn to a stop but had difficultly steering and braking. Both times the vehicle restarted. I believe in other circumstances this issue may cause a crash situation. I have researched for recalls and bulletins but found none. I have, however, found many online internet complaints about this same or similar problem.
Truck stalls abruptly, headlights and interior lights go off and instruments on dashboard flash on/off for up to 2 minutes. After a few minutes of waiting and attempts to restart truck, truck finally restarts .
Electrical issue.
Truck will not start, stalls out in traffic and fuel pump continues to run even after vehicle is turned off and key removed. Diagnosed as totally integrated power module. Dodge recalled the same part on the 2011 durango but not the ram pick up.
3 year old tipm (fuse box) just decided to stop working on my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. Truck would not start. Stranded my family out of state. Dealership had to order a part which took 3 business days to ship to dealership from denver. Cost us $1200 and a car rental. Research online shows that Dodge/Chrysler are in a class action lawsuit regarding this item, but no recall has been issued.
Truck would not start, would crank but not start. No warning lights (check engine) etc. Had to take it to local dealer, dealer contacted me next day informing me it was the pimon whatever that is. Cost of repairs is over 1200 dollars. Found out that the pimon is the hi tech name for the fuse box that's under the hood. I asked to see the old part and the person at the parts counter stated that they changed (3) three of them today,. . That's very sad to hear for us Dodge owners.
Inserting the key fob turns on all electrical without turning the key. After the engin is running, you cannot turn it off with the key. It continues to run with the key removed.
My turn signal switch does not work anymore when turning left. I turn it down to select the left turn signal and does not work at all anymore.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly began to decelerate and lose power. After turning the vehicle off, the fuel pump remained running and caused power to drain from the battery. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer but not repaired. The contact was informed that the defects were all due to a faulty tpm (totally power module) and the module would need to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified and no solution was offered. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 58,000.
While accelerating to a normal pace on a highway my vehicle suddenly lost all electrical power and the engine stalled. I was able to safely coast to the shoulder and stop. I turned the key to the off position and then tried restarting the engine, which was successful. I continued on my way. Clearly this incident could have resulted in an accident and injury in less lucky circumstances. An issue I believe is related pertains to the headlights. The right side headlights (high and low beams) have at times cut out randomly while driving. Recently they died altogether. My dealer determined the bulbs were fine, and that the problem was the total integrated power module, which had to be replaced.
My right rear turn signal and my brake light stopped working . I took it to the dealer and it was found to have an issue with the tipm or a fancy fuse box . My complaint is that Chrysler is at fault for this defect which can cause an accident because lack of light signals. They need to identify an immediate and a robust fix to avoid accidents. I never had an issue like this in my other vehicles and the implementation of light signals has been around for over 50 years . Any investigation and follow up would be greatly appreciated. Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the third brake light was leaking and caused mold and mildew inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the third brake light needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000. Ss.
After passing a slow moving vehicle on the highway, my truck shut down. The engine cut off ,dash lights and park light started to flicker erratically and the headlights went off. I managed to pull the vehicle to the side of the road. In order to stop the lights from flickering I disconnected the battery (they flickered with the switch in the off position). As the lights flickered I could hear relays clicking under the hood and dash. After waiting a while I reconnected the battery and all systems came back on and I was able to start the truck and drive it home. The dealership will not be able to check it out until wed the 18. All systems seem to be normal. I have to go to work . I' m driving it 60 miles round trip everyday.
While starting from a stop if you momentarily hold your foot on the brake and accelerate. When you release the brake the car begins forward then all warning lights come on and car shuts down from 1 to 10 seconds. If you are pulling into a busy road where you might momentarily spin the engine up in order to have better response you are left stuck out in the road in traffic. Also happens if you are towing on an incline and you spin up engine before releasing foot brake. You would do this in order to not roll back. They said the code says you should not drive with 2 feat. I don't think it should happen they say it's normal. Very dangerous. Have brought the car in multiple times since this has occurred.
The contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the headlights, windshield wipers and the tail lights would engage independently and sporadically. In addition, the speedometer and the turning signals failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired on three occasions but the failure was not rectified. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000 and the current mileage was 25,000. . . Updated 12-30-13 updated 1/17/2014.
Right knee bumps the large key turning it, and shutting off the engine, making it hard to control. This has happened several times usually while cornering or slowing for a corner.
There were no special events before problem showed up, other than the engine must atain normal operating temperature. The problem is when traveling , uphill-downhill- or on level, if you are above 45mph and you stop applying gas pedal to coast. The vehicle will coast until you reach approximately 40mph at which time the transmission will downshift into 3rd gear. This causes an abrupt slowing without alerting vehicle behind you. This could in effect cause a rear collision because the brake lights are not activated, and the gearing is low in rear axle which causes the vehicle to slow at a faster rate than normal. The problem seems to be there all the time, one time it did not appear when I applied brakes. This could have been a one time occurance as it hasn't happened again. I have contacted local dealer, from whom I purchased the vehicle, 3 times. First time they hooked computer to vehicle and said everything was normal. Second time hooked computer to vehicle drove it and took more readings. Third time they were to take more readings and transmit to Chrysler, also at that time they were to work on transmission. Problem not fixed, when I returned home that evening I received a phone call from dealer stating that Chrysler was to give them a computer flash or program that may fix the problem, and it could take 3 to 6 months to obtain. During the second visit I was told that Chrysler had at least 3 other vehicles with same problem but they did not know what the cause is and therefore they did not know how to repair. I was not notified in writing by dealer or Chrysler corp. No parts were replaced that I am aware of. I also drove another truck same equipment it did not exhibit the problem. I am not certain if this is a ploy to skirt the lemon law or not. At any rate the problem needs attention sooner than later, also this is causing higher fuel consumption because of having to feed gas when the vehicle should be coasting!.
