Tl- the owner has a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the transmission failed. The contact heard a loud noise and the vehicle began to decelerate on its own. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for inspection and they stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified. #2 - Transmission Noise problem of the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500
The vehicle was a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. Vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle is 1D3HV18TX9_. At about 100 miles on vehicle noticed a low squeal sound from engine or transmission? at present there are 15000 miles on vehicle and the squeal has gotten a little worst. The noise begins after about one or two minutes of starting, and is continually squealing while vehicle is running. The dealer ship ran test and said it was normal. I drove another 2009 1500 ram and the noise was not there, or in another 1500 ram from another dealership. Dealership refuses to go any further with the problem, quote: we can't figure where the noise is coming from, so it must be normal. It was Sunday, May 3, 2009 when this transmission noise issue happened.

#3 - Transmission Noise problem of the 2006 Dodge Ram 1500
The vehicle involved is a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. : the contact stated there is a noise coming from the transmission. The dealership determined the noise was normal and the vehicle needed to be broken in. The noise continues to come from the transmission and now the rear end vibrates. Additionally, on five occasions while driving 60mph the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted each time after five minutes. The dealer has been unable to duplicate the problem. The car was a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. The VIN of this vehicle was 1B7HF16Z1Y_. Consumer stated that when the vehicle was in overdrive, there was a noise between the cab and back of the truck. The transmission has been overhauled and they replaced the linkage box. The vehicle has been in the shop 17 times for the transmission problem. They have also replaced the bearings in the overdrive 1 or 2 years ago. At that time it was making the same noise and they will not touch it again. The car involved is a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500. The VIN of the car is 1B7HF16Y87_. While pulling onto a ramp rear wheel locked up. Vehicle taken to a repair shop, and informed consumer that pinion gear sheared off in rear end. Dealer and the manufacturer were notified. The vehicle made a noise when accelerating uphill, the heat shield broke and was fixed. The transmission locked up. This problem occurred on Monday, Jul. 8, 2002.
#8 - Transmission Noise problem of the 1996 Dodge Ram 1500
The car involved was a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 3B78C13Y1T_. Transmission failed after making knocking noise which got progressively louder over a period of several months. A new transmission was installed and now that transmission is making the same noise after only a few days. I believe that this model of transmission may be defective as it failed after only 58,000 miles and now the new one is making the same noise that the old one started out making. This issue happened on Friday, December 17, 1999.
