The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 quad st/slt. He purchased the vehicle in December of 2006. During a routine wheel alignment appointment, the mechanic could not complete the alignment since the front wheel bearings were defective. In June of 2009, he heard a noise coming from the left front wheel. The mechanic confirmed that the right and left wheel bearing and axle joints needed to be repaired. The warranty has expired. The estimated repair cost was $1,100. The vehicle will be repaired with after market wheel bearings and a drive axle u joint. The manufacturer will be notified. The contact experienced identical failure with a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 quad st/slt which he thought was due to the tires. The failure and the current mileages were 56,000.

My abs and brake warning light came on and I lost my abs. In searching for the problem, I found oil dripping from my rear differential cover. I removed the cover and found that a ring gear bolt head had sheared off and damaged the abs exciter ring. The differential could have locked up and caused an accident. A mechanic advised it appeared the bolt failed due to a stress fracture. The dealer would not cover the repair since the vehicle is out of warranty nor would a daimler Chrysler rep. I telephonically spoke with. I have the failed part and photos.

2004 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 cummins diesel vibration at 70 mph to 75 mph vehicle was bought new. I took it back the next day after driving 150 miles asked for a different vehicle I have owned a lemon Dodge before I just did not want the headache of a problem vehicle. The vibration feels like the rear axle or the driveshaft shake the steering wheel and mirrors and the brake pedal. Also, my dashboard is starting to rattle. I am scared to drive this vehicle for fear of something flying out from under it and possibly killing someone or myself. The steering wheel on extended trips will make your hands go numb from the vibration! I have taken the vehicle in to my local dealership several times they had the driveshaft balenced from the local driveshaft shop they say that they have called star tech and that they are working on the problem but still I have a vibration that cannot be fixed .

While driving 45mph the atni-lock rear brake warning light came on. A few minutes later, while pulling out at a stop sign the rear differential made a loud noise. The rear differential had "came out" for lack of a better term. I have all the parts and pieces from the differential. The pinion gear was in pieces in the bottom of the housing. The ring gear had several teeth missing and/or damaged. The anti-lock brake sensor/equipment was also damaged. The only parts that were not replaced were the axles and the housing. Cause of the defect is still yet undetermined.
