The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Stratus. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle shook and a noise could be heard coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle. Only had my 2003 Dodge Stratus for a few months and having major problems now. When I first got it, everything was in good condition but I still did maintenance work on it anyways. I barely drive my car because I'm a stay at home mom so I don't really put miles on my car. Now my car is suffering problems from within the engine. I was driving one evening and my car just stopped out of nowhere. I did a little research and then went to a mechanic and pretty much my engine is suffering. They also told me that 2. 7 engines are very crappy and doesn't last long. I wish I would've knew that before I bought the car. These cars need to be recalled and made better. Now I'm out of a car.

Car lost power. No accelerator or power in traffic. 09/01/16 was last time. . Does this quite often.

First horn was blowing out of control, than the engine we got it fixed, or so we thought ,than got the starter fix drove it 2 weeks and now it turns over but does nothing so it's sitting in my yard not working and am sick of it so far I have paid out over a grand and this car don't work just why,OH god just why. I have paid some of everything you think of one that car I have had it towards so much state farm wanted to cancel my insurance, okay let's begin. Starter replaced,eg road valve senser,valley + pipe, ignition coil,ignition relay,temperature senser,ignition wire, rotor, injector, brush, bearing ball, December frame not to mention the labor my god. And now it sits in my yard am tired really.

The car one once moving and then I stop, and put foot on brake, put gear in reverse and give it a little gas, and the vehicle rocks and shakes, and I was park, and put my foot on brake, put the gear in reverse and gave it a litte gas and it rock and shakes. I did just have new spark plugs put on old plugs and wires, and a new fuel tank filler tube.

Car accelerated on its own. When I let off the brakes it took off very fast and got up to 70 before I had to mash the brakes very hard and pull over and force it into neutral and turn the key to stop the engine. When restarting the engine it continued rev in park and neutral which prevented me from putting it in drive'.

I purchased from car champs on March 27th stopped working March 30th and decided to start running again April 4th the whole time it was out of use and broken I called car champs no one returned called or responded the center had dates and times and complaint's, as to situation the day I finally get in touch with them on my appointment was set for the 9th half way there to car champs the call center calls me and sas service manager who is also the worker canceled because of an emergency, me stating the whole time I fear for my life in this vehicle they sold me which I needed a vehicle so bad for my work that I took it had being told it was the only one I could get I asked over several times at purchase is this car gonna stop or break down on me multiple people that work at the lot said no it won't it's good condition, that was a lie 30 day warranty still in effect I was there for 4 hours and 40 minutes tops, it was outrageous a new condition discovered after being told it had cracked break pads which could of broken completely and the car wouldn't stop I could have died, as I'm driving away after the 5 hour delay 2 new lights came on including the oil light. The next day I called and ran there phone off the hook till someone answer I was told to get my car there immediately because had to go. Mind you I've been calling since 9am that morning l I rushed down there for the vehicle to stop going 40/45 miles per hour on a highway, 18 wheeler slamming breaks and bumpin and totally fearing for my life after h a 5 hour and 30 minute wait for car champs tow truck to get us and take us to there service lot, as of today they towed loner vehicle given to me after I was in the hospital 2 days cuz of there accident and lemon car leaving a message saying were going to take care of this and do a car switch out then repossessing there car still under 30 day warranty.

Grandaughter was returning home from college . Vehicle suddenly caught fire on highway between marble falls tex and burnet texas. . Her mother was following in another car and barely had time to rescue some of the personal items before entire car was engulfed in flames. Granddaughter barely escaped the vehicle without injury. She was able to get several pictures of the vehicle fire on her cell phone. . The fire begin either under the hood or under the front of the car and was completely engulfed in a matter of minutes. . Grandaughter and her mom was very distraught and terribly upset until fire dept from burnet arrived on the scene . They were called (911) by a passing motorist. The burned out vehicle was hauled in to burnet texas by advantage towing 512-756-7995. We have never received a recall from Dodge about the possible fire hazards on this vehicle.

Drove car approximately 10 miles to store. Was in parking lot, pulling into a parking space, noticed smoke from under hood. Woman in lot stopped and told me my car was on fire. Backed out of parking spot to center of aisle. Car fully engulfed in flames within minutes. Cause of fire not yet determined.

The mechanic told me that the engine needs to be replaced. Sludge on the pick up tube clocked the screen and the engine seized. Always had the oil and filter changed every 3000 miles. Never herd of having to drop the pan and clean a pick up tube when doing a routine oil change. Owned lots of cars in the 30 years I been driving and never experience this. Car has been sitting in my driveway for over a year and I still have to make payments every month. Don't have the money for a new engine. Thanks Dodge. I will never ever buy a Dodge again. Piece of crap engine.

No warnings or anything to indicate something was wrong with the engine. I decided to look under the hood, and I pulled out the dipstick and spotted a dark milky substance. I have read about the known Dodge 2. 7 engine freeze issue and it happened to me. Please do something.

My son drove my car a short distance and parked it at a restaurant. He was informed within minutes that the car was on fire and the fire dept. Extinquished an engine compatment fire. The car was a total loss. Happened in akron ohio approx. Nov. 2011.

After driving my car a friend went outside and seen smoke comming out from under the hood. She called me and I ran to the car and I seen fire under the front wheel's. Friends sprayed water on the hood and I opened it up a little and they sprayed the fire and put it out. By this time the top of the motor was burnt bad. Everything on top needs to be replaced, it was caused by the high presure hose on the powersreering. I found out that it had a recall on the hose so I called Dodge corp. And they gave me a case # and to take it to my dealer so I did. Then the corp. Office called me today and said it's been to long this should have been done by the last oner and hung up. I bought this car oct. 14 of this year and this happend on the 31. How am I to know that this was going to happen in 18 day's. I payed a lot of money for this car and I think. The computer can tell you the recall and how to get it fixed; but you try to find somewhere on here on what to do when there is a recall and it done what it said it would do and you didn't know about it until it did it. I need help I don't have the money to fix it. I took out a loan to get it.

The contact investigated the vehicle and discovered that the engine bracket was fractured. The vehicle was then inspected by an independent mechanic who confirmed the failure and advised that the bracket would need replacing. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part being on backorder. My 2005 Dodge Stratus has a problem with the crankshaft that keeps moving, which is causing the crank seal to pop out, so it causes oil to start pouring out. I took it to my local Dodge dealer, and they said I need a new engine. I had also took it to local mechanics more then once to try to fix this problem, but the problem doesn't seem fixible. I do believe this is a manufacture problem, and it wasn't cause by us driving this car. My warranty expired in Jan/2010.

I was driving the car all day and it began to smoke; which had been an ongoing problem under the hood, a light white smoke as if something was dripping and burning off the engine. Once I parked the car about 10 minutes late the smoke became dark and black and fire erupted. Car was totaled, fire dept was called to the scene.

My car leaks water into the passenger compartment when I run defrosters/air conditiioning. I looked this up on line and it is a problem with the drain tube on Dodge/ chrylser car. This is not a recall on my car but a complaint on the car. There is a recall on 2008 Dodge caravans/Chrysler town/countrys. The Dodge dealerships says it cannot help me because my car does not have recall. I have had this problem for over a year. Also on line other people have had this problem also, when you look it up.

On my way to work one morning, the car stopped in the middle of the street. It was two blocks from the house. I had 2 neighbors push the car back to the house. I eventually took it to the mechanic, who told me the problem was the engine. He took out the parts trying to rebuild the engine and noticed there was sludge throughout the parts. He then told me it was not safe to try and clean it out, because there is no guarantee how far into the engine it had gone. I would have to purchase an whole new engine. He looked for engines but could only find those with high mileage. He was not sure if the engine would stand-up for long or eventually cause me to have to change it again. The car is still waiting for an engine. I have not been in a financial situation to afford it. I recently started to look again to get an idea of when I may be able to work on this again. I remember hearing there was an issue with the Stratus' but when I called two local dealers for information, they told me they did not know anything about it.

2001 Dodge Stratus. . . Noise in front end. Told it was bearings on 3 separate occasions, and they were replaced. Engine ticking/ possible valve tap numerous complaints to dealer being told that year model runs rough; and could trade it for a more expensive car. Now trying to have rear struts put in and the aluminum plate that holds them in is powder. The part is not available. Dodge is the only place to order the part and was informed this is an old car and the part was on back order.

The failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer advised the contact to have her insurance company investigate the failure and forward them the report. The current and failure mileages were 54,000.

The engine stop working and I replace the engine and it did the same thing. Its the 2. 7l v6 engine that has been given people a lot of problems.

Throttle cable frayed and stuck in cable housing not letting the engine to idle down.

Dealer dragging feet on repair, even with us having purchased the extended warranty.

Always changed the oil every 3,00 miles. And the engine seized. It knocked for less than a minute prior to total failure with the correct amount of oil in the engine. The public should be warned and anyone this has happened to should be reimbursed the amount to fix the problem through Dodge.

The vehicle sputtered a little and died. After getting it started and going further up the street in traffic, it died and would not restart. I have not been able to get the vehicle fixed up to this point. I have been speaking with the dealership, and the manufacturer to see if this problem could be resolved.

I had my Dodge Stratus 2002 since summer of 2005. While going to work one morning, I thought I heard that the starter was going. I called and had the manufacturer's local inspection shop look at the car and they told me that the engine had blown out. If I recall the engine should be the last thing to die in a car. This vehicle is only five years old, regardless of mileage the engine should still be going. The manufacturer claimed that they couldn't help because I bought the car from another car dealer and not the manufacturer. This matter should be inspected.
