My car was recalled in April for a lighting defect that can cause the headlights not to work. Since my headlights had just malfunctioned and didn't work, I was glad the car was to be fixed. I called the dealer to schedule the repair and was told the parts were on back order. I called again and again and the parts are still not available. It has been almost four months without headlights. The car is unusable at night of course. Four months and they can't get the part. Unbelievable! talk about a safety concern.

The headlights shut off while driving at night and had to pull and hold the highbeam/flash to pass lever. The headlights now turn off intermittently and more frequently and this is a huge problem safety wise and expensive when a cop pulls me over and gives you a citation! now the headlights go off for longer periods and more frequent and im afraid to go out at night with this issue.

When exiting a local restaurant just as it was getting dark we found that the headlights would not go on either in manual or automatic mode. The only way we were able to see to get home, about ten miles on the highway, was to lift up the light lever and hold it up for high beams. If we released the lever it went totally dark. Our local Ford dealer found a failed light control processor to be the cause, and replaced same. This was an expensive part and with labor cost over $500. We felt that we were fortunate that the problem did not occur while we were on the highway.

The headlights on my 2005 Ford Crown Victoria turned off without any indication of a problem beforehand. The lights came on for a while, then went back off and the problem has been repetitive over the past several days. What is alarming about this - is that it happened on the freeway at a speed of 65 mph.

Last Tuesday, I drove from san jose back to orange county at 9:00pm and when I drove on 152 east freeway around 9:30pm-10pm suddenly my headlight turn off at the curve that make me almost fall down the hill. I'm really scare and my wife had been crying because there is no street light and I turn my car follow the reflect things on the road to keep my car on driving right then brake and pull over on the side of the hill. After that happened I do some research and find out so many Ford Crown Victoria have this defect I wonder why the Ford company look the people life is cheap like that, they support to know this issue and have to recall to fix this problem. There is some one, some law protect us by that, please advise me what should I do with that. There is no problem to fix this issue but the things is very expensive and the Ford have no right to this to me and my family. My car is 2003 Ford Crown Victoria lx, my suggestion is whoever own the Crown Victoria should sign the law suit to sue them if not one day you, your wife and your kids will fall out of the mountain then it's too late.

The headlights go out while driving with no warning. Ford is doing nothing about this very dangerous and expensive repair. Seems the problem lies with the welding that was done to lcm (light control module) but it is scary to be on highway and have no lights and no warning now this warning about engine!!!!.

Headlights go out without any warning. Ford says no issues with this although it was written up in newspapers. They will not fix this very dangerous and expensive problem the problem apparently comes from bad welding in the lcm (light control module) but its scary to be driving on highway and then have no lights.

Multiple incidents of headlights suddenly going off. Driving down the road suddenly no headlights. Went to sisters ready to leave--no headlights--ready to leave for work in the morning before daylight no headlights. Then an hour later lights back on. When my 3 year old grandson visits I do not trust the headlights enough to take him out. I chance going to work in the mornings at my full time job or when I leave my part time job at night. When I went to see about getting this problem repaired, I was told it will be quiet expensive for me to get it repaired. I feel with all of the complaints that I read online, that Ford should consider this a recall and repair this at their expense.

Sudden headlight failure at night on freeway. Repeated intermittent headlight failures. This is a very dangerous and potentially fatal flaw in the lighting control module (lcm). After reviewing similar complaints online it seems that this part is defective and overheats causing failure. It is expensive to repair and Ford offers no assistance aside from selling an expensive replacement part which happens to be the same defective part as was originally installed.

Driving to work my headlights went out. Would not turn back on. Held the lever to keep the hi-beams on and approximately 8 miles later released lever and headlights came on and remained on for the last couple of miles to my office. Pushing the lever to turn on hi-beams did not work, I had to pull and hold the lever toward me to keep the hi-beams lit. This is the third time within the last 2 months that this has occured and is a grave safety hazard. . . I have set up an appointment at Ford to replace the lighting control module ($478) plus labor. Since this has been a known item for some time Ford should be required to do a recall for such a serious equipment flaw.
