While driving on the highway, the brakes on my rental truck began to feel mushy, and the pedal eventually went all the way to the floor. I was unable to stop and had to use the emergency brake to avoid a collision. The truck was rented from budget truck rental (serrato enterprises inc. , 7680 bandera road, san antonio, TX 78238). Upon inspection, I discovered brake fluid leaking from the left rear tire and an empty master cylinder reservoir under the hood. I made my first call to budget customer service at 2:00 pm but was not towed to abilene until 1:00 am—leaving my family stranded for nearly two days. The next day, the repair mechanic from rocky mountain truck inspected the braking system and told me this vehicle should never have been on the road due to the severe deterioration of the brake rotor and pads on both sides of the truck (photo attached). He provided me with the damaged rotor and brake pad as physical evidence of neglect and told me the vehicle would not pass any sort of inspection, also warning me to never rent from budget again if this is how they give customers vehicles. Inside the cab, there is a maintenance log showing no service for over 20,000 miles beyond the last recorded entry at 99,000 miles, even though previous maintenance had been logged every 4,000 miles. This clearly shows a failure in standard maintenance and safety practices. The fact that my wife’s and my safety was jeopardized—and that budget’s customer service treated this with such disregard—is unacceptable. It is alarming that only a catastrophic accident could have brought attention to such negligence in vehicle maintenance and safety oversight. I am going to these lengths due to the fact that budget values milking a few extra miles out of a vehicle's lifespan rather than addressing the most common wear-and-tear items on a vehicle. I'm reaching out because of budget’s failure to acknowledge the importance of vehicle safety. Budget customer reference number: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of informatio.

After hitting a very rough patch of interstate, our steering became very difficult. The driver thought that maybe we had a low tire, so looked for a place to pull over. We crested a hill, and there was an exit with a truck stop. As we attempted to slow for the exit, the driver discovered we had no brakes or power steering. Driver used the brakes on the trailer we were towing to slow us and bring us to a stop. Checked the brake fluid reservoir. It was empty. Bought more, but as soon as the pedal was pushed, it was gone. We were towed to a repair shop, and they discovered the high pressure line on the hydroboost brake system had separated. The repair shop was able to find a replacement from Ford motor CO. , and repaired our motorhome. We had this exact component inspected 2 years ago when Ford issued an inspection report. We passed. This incident happened 2500 miles from home. When we arrived home, there was a letter from Ford (24n03) stating they were extending the "warranty" period on the high pressure line.

I've had trailer brakes and lights not working off and on with my 2022 f350. They're aware of it and sent a recall. I went to have the recall performed this morning and the dealer told me that the "fix" for the recall also doesn't work and that they'll call me when the "new fix" is ready. Meanwhile, I'm getting into towing season and I'll be towing a large trailer across the country repeatedly with trailer brakes that might work or might not.
Without warning my brakes and steering failed on a freedom elite RV on a Ford motor chassis. The vehicle only had 2396 miles on it at the time of occurrence. It turned out to be a pressure hose that broke. Luckily I was in a residential neighborhood with no traffic and driving very slowly when it happened. I shudder to think what would have happened on a hill or in traffic.
The brakes are faulty. Have tried to have them repaired 3 times and it ends with the same problem. The brakes go all the way in and have to be pumped to stop.

This vehicle is used as an ambulance. On two separate occasions the vehicle was involved in two major accidents, once going forward from a stationary position through our building garage door and the other while in reverse trying to slow down backing up and going through an interior building wall. The gas and brake pedal are located too close together. When the driver went to apply the brakes his foot presses down on the throttle pedal at the same time, causes the vehicle to take off. The more brake you push the more throttle is pressed. We also on two other occasions when the vehicle was outside have had the drivers while depressing the brake in a stationary position shifting from park to drive also press the gas causing the vehicle to go to a very high rpm as they shifted into drive causing the vehicle to launch forward. Each incident that occurred involved different drivers. I personally am responsible for all vehicle maintenance for the association, I measured the clearance between these pedals as compared to our other ambulance. The pedals on the vehicle in question is almost 3/4 of an inch closer than our f450. The vehicle was brought to the dealer after the first accident and checked and no issue was found. Accidents occurred 1/18/2018 and 2/7/2019.

Abs sporadically causes difficulty in pressing the break pedal while rhythmically pulling hard right. Highway or surface speeds. Google has many with the same problem and no fix. No codes are thrown. Dealers are no help. Must disable the abs by pulling the 60amp fuse.

I am owner of jwd delivery, a fedex home delivery contractor, I have 4 of the same trucks 2012/2013 and there are many others in our terminal. They all have the same issue, excessive tire wear of front tires. The tires fail inspection after 5-7k miles. Over $8k in tires on four trucks in less than a year and a half. Trucks have between 25k and 50k miles on them. Had a Ford engineer look at them and the body company did not factor in the weight and distribution when they but this body on this chasis. The engineer stated these trucks are dangerous and can flip over or fail to stop due to this problem. The body company will not fix the problem or take responsibility. These need to be fixed, replaced, or taken of the road as dangerous. I have been working on this myself for over a year to get fix and find the problem before someone does get injured or killed. I would like to talk to someone about getting them recalled, that is the only way the body company will take care of the problem. Utilimasters solution is to continue to replace the tires and do front end alignments each time which I had initially tried and the tire wear is no better. Basically the weight of the packages is on the shelves on the outside of the body and the trucks are driving on the tire edges not flush to the road. I can document everything.

There is a loud "popping" noise when the braking of the van comes to a complete stop. Sometimes I am afraid the van is not going to stop all the way. From what I am reading online, it may be under previous recall for the brake system. I have no idea how to go about getting recall information, etc. To have a Ford dealership fix this problem.
I recently purchased this brand new Ford e350 van. If you take your hands off the wheel for a second the vehicle drifts into the right lane. Also while braking you if you do not hold the wheel in the straight position the vehicle veers and drifts to the right. In a panic stop it is very dangerous and is a safety hazard. Also when you are braking you actually can feel the vehicle drifting, veering and pulling to the right when you are holding the steering wheel. What brought this to my attention was a panic stop that almost caused me to crash into a guard rail. Another issue is the transmission feels as though it is slipping, Ford also says this is normal when a vehicles transmission gets hot. I am afraid of all these things with the steering, braking and the transmission. My fear is a crash due to the steering and braking as well as going to accelerate and the transmission slipping creating a collision. Ford denies that there is anything wrong and says it is totally normal that all vehicles do that. I have brought this vehicle with these issues back to the dealer numerous and they say they have made adjustments and things are only getting worse. My first incident was on the way home from the dealer that the vehicle seemed to be all over the road. I have requested a Ford field engineer come out and go for a ride with me so they can see exactly what is happening, and I was told that Ford motor CO will not approve an engineering visit, that this is totally normal. My parents have the exact the vehicle, make, model and series and that vehicle stays completely straight at all times.
Traveling approximately 25 mph on smooth, flat paved road, the rsc (roll stability control) and abs (anti-lock braking system) lights came on with an annoying loud beep. We also felt a pulsation in the brake pedal when the driver pulled over. He turned the vehicle off and then restarted the vehicle. The warning lights turned off temporarily, but started up again. The problem is intermittent but reoccurs daily. We took it in to honolulu Ford where it was diagnosed for $225. 00 and the dealer quoted us $2,100. 00 to change both the electronic and hydraulic control units. We asked with such an expensive repair, can they guarantee this will fix the problem. They replied with "no". They wanted to start by changing these units first. I checked online and found a host of complaints from people that have same problem and some that paid for the expensive repair but found the problem only to continue, so naturally I am a skeptic to pay this repair cost and continue with problem. I thought perhaps you can help get Ford motor company to look into this problem.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford f-350. The contact stated that while traveling 75 mph, the power steering assist failed. The steering wheel became abnormally stiff and as the contact attempted to move the vehicle to the road shoulder, the brake pedal was depressed and abnormally traveled to the floorboard. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the lines connected to the steering and braking systems was completed rusted and needed replacing. The contact stated that the vehicle had been parked inside and had not been exposed to the outside elements for the lines to become rusted. The manufacturer was also contacted and advised that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 17,000.

Ford e-series vans. 2009-2012 e150, and e350 both as vans, and as passenger shuttles I am a commercial driver, I've spent my life with Ford vans (have not driven 04-08) 09+ newer vans occasionally do not stop below 15mph abs over sensitive and easily confused by slight downgrades, potholes, sand, rr tracks, light snow over compact snow, wet brick, or slight ice too often I must rely upon downshifting to stop before the intersection numerous vans, various tire conditions (great to poor), all have the same issue can take 13-20 seconds to go from 15mph to 0mph relying on abs alone, which our other vehicles are just fine on the same stretch of road (stop in about 3-5secs) the abs is amazingly good on level ground, but slight downgrades + a previous listed element confuses the system and will deny the driver brake pressure the abs is dangerous in winter (occasionally) I was driving these fans over 40 hours a week, every week since we got them in 09'. I learned to drive on a 94, our work had a 95 and an 03, which were fine in winter (but broke down after my first year of employment there). The 09's and newer were the problem. The traction control set a new level of danger in fluffy snow. Sometimes these rwd vans would understeer, but the tc was over zealous and you could not correct under steer. The tc could not be completely turned off either. So they would be stuck on the ice, and unsteerable in the fluffy stuff I've been driving for 15 years, never had an accident, I study rally racing techniques, and I am shocked these new Ford vans made safety regulations "America's drivers should feel confident that anytime they get behind the wheel they can easily maintain control of their vehicles -- especially in the event of an emergency"-ray lahood. These systems should not override driver inputs, professional, experienced drivers inputs.

When there is any dew or moisture of any kind on the road the truck wont stop without the front breaks locking up and wont stop, also the spark plugs have blown out of the motor prior to this it starts to develop a misfire, and the rear sustention is so weak the rear of the truck drags the ground when there is a low spot or dup in the road and has worn the metal off the bottom of the tow hitch making it unsafe and useless.
Truck wobbling to the point of almost wrecking. . . Was told it was wheelbearing, rotors, tierod ect. I now realize Ford has a problem with the trucks regarding uncontrollable shaking , it is very scary when this happens. I also owned a 2003 and 2004 had to sell them because the turbo kept blowing off and fuel injectors were clogged. I am so disappointed. I hope if there is a problem you will do something about it.
