While my wife was rolling up the passenger side window in our vehicle, the window became stuck and would not roll back up. Now my wife and two kids were stuck riding around with a widow halfway rolled down in cold weather. She took the vehicle to the dealership and they wanted close to 400$ to repair it. This is pretty bad considering there is thousands of complaints on the internet on this same issue. A faulty window regulator. I called the parts department to get a price, and the sales person even told me this was a very common problem. At 400$ times 4 adds up and is ridiculous for a $50,000 vehicle.

Drivers side window actuator failed causing window to suddenly drop into door while driving at highway speeds in 25 degree weather. This is my first occurrence with this happening (but I just bought this used truck less than a week ago) but in doing research it appears to be a very common problem resulting in numerous accidents.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Expedition. During inclement weather the drivers side window will not roll down. However, the other windows in the vehicle work. The current mileage was 35,800. The vehicle identification number was unavailable.
My 2008 Ford Expedition passenger front side window started a high pitch squeak/squeal when going up and down (power windows)a week later my driver front side window started the same, they both did this for about a month and then one morning I put the driver side down and went to put it up it started to shimmy up and down like it wanted to go up but would then go down again, after playing with it my husband finally got it to go up. Since then I had used it 2 weeks later to find that the window shimmied again while trying to put it up and following trying to get the window up there was a loud noise the window wouldn't go up at all. Took it to the dealership and the inside cable for the power window was broken, since this is not a warrantied item, we had them replaced the "window regulator" on the drivers side and the passenger side is not yet fixed.
I have a 2005 Ford Expedition XLT (100k miles, v8, a-trans). The drivers side window is stuck permanently in the open position. I am told the regulator is broken and must be replaced.

My best friend father and grandmother died inside an SUV accident that emerged into a swimming pool. Windows were closed. There was no way out of the SUV due to power windows. They sat there waiting for death. Something has to be done to all vehicles who are built with power windows. The same way that most modern vehicles now have a way of escaping from the trunk of a car why isn't there something where there is a way of escaping from a car window if the car goes into a pool of deep water above 5 feet. These automobile companies need to create an emergency mechanism in all power windows in case of the car going into a lake, river, pool, etc. All windows front and back windows should have a manual roll down knob or whatever it is called for such accidents. I'm pretty sure that if my friends father had some kind of tool to break the windows he would of but who is to say that the rushing waters would have still killed them. They were senior citizens that died so tragically and they are not the only one. I'm not sure if this is the right department for such a complaint, but if this is the wrong department can someone please direct me to the proper channels. This incident is still under investigation but it is not known how they ended up inside a swimming pool. If such mechanism is invented, it should not be an optional it should be mandatory just like seatbelts and airbags and should not be costly to the consumer due to that it is a life saving to humans and animals for that fact. I hope I am understood and that this complaint should be taken seriously as it will save a lot of lives. I also hope that I have made my self clear and understandable. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the driver and passenger windows failed. The windows could not be opened or closed. The transmission also failed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the window failure was located at the door motor. The transmission computer was reprogrammed but the failure was not corrected. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 20,000 and the current mileage was 82,000.
While driving to work this morning my husband and I hit a pothole in the road and the window fell into the door. The window was up at the time. The dealer said thiswas not Ford's problem because they did not have to replace anything, just fix the window track so it was costing us to fix a problem with the window that we have no control over.
2006 Ford Expedition limited. Consumer writes in regards warranty repair dispute and driver's side power window being extremely slow in the closing operation the dealer lubed the window and stated there was no problem found. After complaining several times about the window, the dealer finally determined there was a problem. However, the consumer was informed the parts and labor were not covered under the extended warranty. The consumer stated the problem existed going back to Dec 11, 2006 and the defect was not addressed or corrected while the vehicle was under the original factory warranty. The consumer stated he should not be responsible for repairs that were callously overlooked and ignored by the dealer. Also, the lower radiator support to the body mount was severely rusted and showed signs of actual material failure. The consumer stated the condition can and will evolve into the root cause of both mechanical and safety related failures. The major body and front frame support failing under driving conditions could lead to engine failure, and loss of control of the vehicle. The most serious safety concern, was the front brake lines which were showing signs of serious rust. The dealer informed the consumer the lines could only be replaced under warranty if there were signs of leakage. The consumer stated corrosion in the form of rust would compromise the integrity of the steel brake lines, allowing brake fluid to leak out resulting in a total loss of braking power. The left rear door would not open from the inside, the driver's front door had to be slammed in order for it to close properly, the front axle drive pinion was leaking and had to be replaced.
Purchased a 2003 Ford Expedition about 2 months ago, since then drivers side window regulator was replaced. Week and half ago, passengers fwd inoperative, yesterday, drivers side inoperative. When first one was fixed. Technician said it was a big problem. The regulator cables bind up. He said bad design. Still waiting for my appointment to repair the other 2 windows. When these windows fail. They are either stuck up, or down. Resulting in a safety issue in floods or water, or heat issues if the windows cannot be rolled down. Not to mention, emergency escape issues. Looking on the internet, I have found many websites with archived forums with many people complaining of the same situation.

: the contact stated the electric windows in the vehicle work intermittently. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealership for inspection. Updated 2/9/2006 -.
Side view mirrors fail to return to proper position after using reverse aid. Mirrors often tilt too high, too low, etc. And max out creating bad clicking as if they are still trying to tilt past furthest point. Have to reset manually on each side every time. Happens 9 out of 10 times used, and has been happening since purchase. Ford says there is no fix to this problem, and has not heard of the issue much, even though you can find hundreds or thousands of this type of complaint on websites such as this and others.
My 2003 Ford Expedition XLT was parked in my garage. I opened the driver's side door and got in. I started the car and then tried to roll down the elctric widow on the driver's side. As soon as the button was pushed, the window exploded, covering me with glass pieces.
Power windows, front and back fail to operate. Drivers side will power down, but will not power up. Sometimes when I continuously operate the switch I can hear a clicking noise almost like something is not connecting. I have not yet taken it to a dealer to investigate because I am afraid the cost to 'fix' will be hugh. I have also had probles with the rear window wiper. It has never worked consistenly. I had it worked on one time, the dealer said it was locked up and fixed it. It worked about twice and has not worked since, that was about a year ago.

Driver and passenger power door lock switches do not work.
My concern is the structural integrity of the vehicle, this was a rear end collision with a Mazda 626 , why so much damage, why did the rear windows pop open on impact,.

On numerous occasions all power windows front and rear do not work. I took vehicle to dealer and dealer said they are aware of the problem and they contacted the mfg. However, mfg. Has not found a solution.
Power windows go up and down intermittently. Dealership is aware of the problem. Vehicle was purchased in winter when windows were up.
All the power windows intermittently function, causing the windows to get stuck in the up or down positions. Dealer can't find cause of the problem.
