The power steering pump leaked all the time, the gear shifter wouldn't go into park. The fuel strap failed three years ago and caused the fuel tank to fall to the ground.

We have a corroded abs brake wire on our 2006 Ford f150 truck. The abs light came on and stayed on. We took it to our dealer and was told it was not covered under our extended warranty due to corrosion. I called Ford esp and was told the same thing (does not state this in coverages). When I asked about any covered part not being covered if it has any corrosion on it, I was told it does not cover corrosion. I live in northern ohio and this is impossible if the vehicle is more the a few years old. We believe that this is a brake safety issue and this wire should not have corroded this soon.

Complete power brake failure. I turned on my engine, heard a loud popping sound, drove forward a few feet and discovered the power brakes inoperable. No warning lights came on before or after the incident. I took the vehicle to the nearest Ford dealership --olympic Lincoln Mercury seattle-- and they repaired it under warranty. They said a poor connection of a pressure line under the fuel rail caused the problem. They said no recalls had been issued. They had no explanation for why the warning lights did not come on. This incident happened approximately 4 months ago. I don't have the paperwork in hand. If needed I can provide the exact date. The date above is a questioned. Olympic Lincoln Mercury has changed hands, it is now jack carrols Lincoln Mercury. This sudden loss of brakes without warning could have been disastrous. My son was with me.
On June 22, 2005 the consumer's Ford f 150 began smoking under the hood while parked and turned off. The vehicle had been sitting for about 9 hours. The cruise control switch located on top of the master cylinder shorted out and looked like it was getting ready to catch on fire. The short melted the plastic reservior that holds the brake fluid to the point where it almost burned through. The owner removed the electrical connector to stop the burning. That connector was the cruise control switch. The part cooled off and the owners taped up the connector so it would not make any connection with any metal parts. The owners states that the vehicle was taken in to the Ford dealership because the check engine light would come on. This had been a problem for about a year. The dealership would turn off the light off and tell the owner that the vehicle checked out alright on their computer. They could not find the problem. They thought it was an oxygen sensor. There was no fire or police report made. The owner took pictures of the part for his records. The dealership has been notified and they gave him a form letter to call the phone numbers on the list. The manufacturer has been notified also. They said they would review the information, and sent the owner a letter in the mail. Ford responded by saying that they could not fix the problem because it was not under recall. The vehicle has been regularly maintained. On the dashboard there is a blinking abs light that will not shut off because the part has been removed, therefore the owner can not get a inspection sticker on his vehicle, because the light is blinking. The owner can not correct the problem with the blinking light because the component needs to be fixed with the correct part.

The abs check light remained on while the vehicle was on. Owner's manual informed the consumer that the brakes may not operate normally. Owner contacted the manufacturer.
In Feb. / 05 cruise control quite, mechanic couldn't find problem, Aug 15/05 abs light comes on. Thinking brake fluid is low, I pop the hood and notice plug on master cylinder is burned/melted. Car wont shift out of park, and no brake lights. I get a new plug and harness from dealer and replace blown fuse. I still have no cruise light on on dash but brakes and cruise work. Dealer said no recall but plenty of service bulletins. $15. 00 part.

While driving, the vehicle vibrated uncontrollably. Suddenly the abs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The ehcu pump failed.
Break failure Ford 1997 f150 VIN. 1ftdf17w9vka47264. The vehicle had been parked for about 45 min. Before starting out, I drove to a stop sign (about 200 ft) when the brakes were applied (10-15 mph) nothing happened, I used booth feet on the petal and applied all the force I could to slow down and it took about 75 ft to stop. I went ot a side street and parked with engine off, checked the break fluid it was full. Took truck to nearest repair shop for check out. Truck was parked for about 10 min. With engine off when mechanic started it and tested brakes they were working at that time (abs light was on). Took truck to Ford dealer in oscoda michigan ( zubek auto sales 511 state st, oscoda mi. 989-739-3261) after checking it out they found a bad abs sensor, they did not have any idea why I had no brakes. But they had another f150 in their shop that had a complete brake failure that they could not find the problem, they have had technicians from Ford (detroit) look at the truck and they dont know what is wrong.
We have two 2000 f150 pickups and at 37000 miles the abs light came on, I've had one pickup repaired and the brakes are not the same I feel this should have been a recall since it was on two different vehicles.
Hit a deer. . . After accident, abs light would not go out. I presumed it was accident related. When body shop investigated they found wires from abs unit had corroded and fallen off. Dealer contact said they have had several in the past two months but no recall notice has been issued yet.
When applying the brakes, the pedal seems to jerk and slow to stop. When coming to a stop there is a ticking noise, it seem to be coming from the firewall. The abs light has came on several occasion. I've had both set of brakes serviced and rotors turned three different times and still have problem.

Abs light came on. Advised could be driven but abs would not work. Returned home and took to original dealer. They advised left rear sensor and the abs brake controller were defective. Repairs will cost more than $700 and parts would be shipped in overnight. Eight days later, there is still no parts.
Abs brake problem. Abs brakes have been changed a couple of times. Manufacturer was not contacted at the time of this call. Dealer was also contacted, and stated that there was nothing they could do.
Abs light stays on, ever since wiring replacement, however during a road trip in Dec 2000 lights went out.
The modular for abs brakes was defective. Anti-lock brakes work, abs light comes on at various times and will not stay on very long, in shop 10 to 12 times, they do not know how to fix the problem. .

While driving the truck the abs lights comes on and stays on. Once truck has been started, the light does not come on, but when started driving for a while the light comes on.
I had experienced a loss of brakes on three or four different occasions. I brought vehicle to manufactures service represenative. I explained I loss my brakes for a short momment and then they return. With the most recent occurance the abs light came on. This did not happen in previous incidences. They checked the abs system found no errors, they checked the brakes no problems. They couldn't find anything, I had to speek with the service tech directly giving more of a detail of what happens. They came back and found the master brake cylinder was leaking causing the intermittent (extremely random) failure. They charged me for the repair (no problem). I called Ford motor direct and asked to be refunded my repair cost because I did'nt think a master brake cyclinder should be failing @ 38k. They were very professional and had no objections, they agreed totally (they paid me for the repair). A week later, this morning I almost crashed into a semi. The end of my road has a stop sign conecting to a major highway. When I proceeded to use my brakes to stop the vehicle did not stop! the brake problem was back. This incident was the worst of the brake failures, I literally almost got crushed by the semidid. I called the manufactures service rep. They told me they thought they had the fix with master cycliner, obviously it was not the fix. I asked what they thought it could be they had no clue! I have an appointment this Monday with the shop to see if they can find the cause one more time. I stress, this problem is extremely dangerous. When one losses his brakes you loss total control. I hope this information can help save a life some where. Thank you.
Abs brake warning light remains illuminated, indicating malfunction within the system. Also, when applying the brakes the pedal pulsates, causing extended stopping distance. Please give any further details.
Dealer has been unable to rectify the problems witht he abs system which causes the abs light to illuminate intermittently while driving. Nlm.
